"Li Mei Xiaodan is one of the main heroines in [Toaru Kagaku no Coder Vader] A Certain Scientific Code Vader and the main protagonist of [Aru shinwa no ōrasutōmu] A Certain Mythical Aura Storm.

Introduced in Toaru Kagaku no Code Vader first arc, her role is later expanded in the second arc of the series. Making her the main heroine of Zzz-Awakening's Toaru fanfics.

A student of the same unnamed high school of Tedashii Hamasaki, she is seen as example among her peers. From China Beijing, she started out as a level 1 and easily and quickly made her way to level 4 in a short time period. This mysterious quick development of her Esper ability spark jealousy among others which eventually started rumors.

Etymology

The name Li-Mei is of Chinese origin.
The meaning of Li-Mei is beautiful plum blossom. It is also considered a unique rare name up among Chinese culture. A name fit for a child full of greatness and spirit, a little trailblaze. This fits Li-Mei background as she is a special candidate from a Beijing to invest in her unique Esper ability Aura Storm. And considering China's Jewel diamond that will bloom into greatness. Her ability unique Aura Storm and fast growth is another fitting representing factor.

Appearance
As a transfer student from China, Li Mei wears plenty of mini China decorations from peony flowers, Roses on her headband that can only be found in China. Shoulder length black hair, light sea green eyes. And wears a school uniform with a black skirt with white stockings. Besides her outfit her appearance and light skin tone match that of an Japanese resented of Academy City fitting right in.

When she uses her Esper ability, her AIM Diffusion field becomes a cloak of aura that sports a crystalline aura with hues of animated rainbow color blend. Depending on her emotions is basis to the hue color texture.

Heruka State
In Heruka state Li Mei take on the features of a wisdom king with a third eye, her aura Storm cloaked her body onto her skin making her skin seemly the color of the heruka, her hair spike up and rainbow electricity simulate off her body.

• In Chapter two of Code Vader there was a spoiler translation error. Within dialogue Zzz-Awakening mistaken the concept of Gemstone's existence. Having Tedashii Hamasaki comment her as a Gemstone Esper during her introduction. However Zzz-Awakening erase Tedashii comment because of this and not because the description wasn't inaccurate. This would mean Li Mei is indeed a Gemstone Esper.
• The design of Li Mei's Aura is basic off Dragon Ball Super's Ultra Instinct Goku.
• Li Mei's Abilities are basic off the concept theory Charka. Another inspiration is Pokemon series Lucario.
• In chapter two of Code Vader it is said she snuck up on Tedashii with a kick in the form of a dragon kick, this might apply she knows a Chinese martial arts or a Japanese martial arts. In chapter 21 and 22 her skills were confirmed.
• During a discord chat Zzz-Awakening admits sure that [Toaru Kagaku no Coder Vader] A Certain Scientific Code Vader. Would be the only Toaru fanfic that will be made by Zzz-Awakening, but Z reconsider making another Toaru Fanfic as Li Mei as Protagonist going by the name [Toaru Kagaku no Aura Storm] A Certain Scientific Aura Strom. On July 3, 2020, Z announced the spin-off will be released. The series release in September 22.

Aura Storm
Li Mei's AIM is capable of releasing a phenomenal substance of radiation. Which becomes a visual cloak of vibration of Aura. That sports a crystalline build with hues of animated rainbow color blend.
Depending on her emotions is basis to the hue color texture, this might hint as a difference in effects depending on color.
She shown capable sparking up her Aura in a form of a charge.

Li Mei's possibles might have a larger set of Variations on ranks of a level 5. Li Mei had her esper ability before coming to Academy City only meaning shes a (Gemstone Esper).

Her abilities are studied and hypothesis unnatural to the physics of Science while being capable to improve through science. Name after Principal Kai's assistant, Limerence Potential is a trait that manifested within Aura Storm upon Li Mei's developing a crush for Tedashii Hamasaki, as long as she retains these feelings the faster she can develop in herself for the influencer, Li Mei's abilities strength when near Tedashii. She can boost a fast growth. The claim growth goal is that of Mikoto Misaka & the desire of its manifest Tedashii Hamasaki.

•Aura Construction: Li Mei can construct her aura into a solid object, in this state it can be use to block off other esper attacks as a shield acting as a AIM rod, Showing when she shield Tedashii from an multiple esper attacks during the ballon hunter event. This technique requires concentration and a clear mind and is reason that she specifically craft spoons from small to large. This is shown capable of intercepting calculations of esper powers.

Wisdom King
In Toaru Kagaku no Code Vader Kaneshiro confirmed that Li Mei is the vessel of Wisdom Kings, possibly identifying how she became an esper without the power curriculum program, Kaneshiro believes that Aura Storm is a Storm seal for the wisdom king (but possibly not true and could just be Li Mei's ability she would have learn naturally during power curriculum program)

Heruka (Form)
Heruka State (khrag 'thung) form also known as Wisdom King state, is a attained state of power taking the form of certain wisdom king that dwells within the vessel user of the Wisdom king. Exclusive to Li Mei Xaiodan this form is fuse with Aura Storm and wisdom. This power can only be trigger with a sage persona emotion even when angry as long as that angrier was build off the passionate care of someone else the state can also be enter in a calm state with a build good heart, the trigger is enter once Li Mei shouts out Heruka (He•ruk_a) in deity tongue. 

In this state With the heruka that appeared in Toaru Kagaku no Code Vader, Li Mei's body is powerful enough to ignore the rules of gravity allowing her flight among the surface. She is also able to ignore friction which why she can slide along the surface. She is still able to maintain Aura Storm with a variety effects that are no longer apply by emotion and her scale of power match a level 5, Li Mei still maintain her karate combat skills. Mara pointed out during her and allies TARDY fight with her that she is throwing out Radiation and applying calculations upon what her radiation contacts, including even the air, and which Kaneshiro agrees upon his arrival.

Weaknesses
While obtaining power that can even rival a level 5 Li Mei shown to have no control of it and its applied that the wisdom king took over. It trigger and maintaining the state cost a drain of her Aura Storm which also uses bio electricity, meaning that if Li Mei don't make proper carefully preparations before taking on the heruka state she loses few year off her lifespan. A long drag out fight becomes difficult to maintain the state costing more on using the power rather than just using Aura Storm alone meaning a level 5 is more stable to fight on long battles than her. The flame scale corse dragon is a fatal matchup for Li Mei in this state as Kaneshiro uses and one shot and drain out Li Mei out the state.

World Eater
And just as all mythical creatures World Eater can devoured the Wisdom King taking the source of the power away. Kaneshiro however confirms Li Mei  possess more than one Wisdom King as he confirms she should have died instantly if not for being the vessel of all the wisdom kings.

Sharing similar qualities to Misaka Mikoto; Hunting and seeking out challenges. With a obsession for competition to a point she would force an match even against level "0"s such as (Tedashii Hamasaki)

Li Mei is a nature loving girl that would do anything to protect the remaining aspects of nature.
While assuming things from hearing from one end and not the other.

Reckless enough to use her esper ability in a causal environment dispute Academy City strict policy of using esper abilities casually.

She has a hyper active personality jumping to being extremely excited to easily crying over the littlest things. As a crybaby she easily cries when her feelings are hurt, overwhelmingly embarrassed around a large crowd, for others pain, emotionally happy (such as Taishiro adopting her)

Terrible at directions asking others for help to get around, and recently using a high tech smartphone's GPS. Her poor directions goes far to a point she doesn't know the way home to her dorm room or to school.

Around September 14 - 19
Li Mei picked up a unhealthy habit of gaming to go far to compare Tedashii's choice of how he spent his lunch in a gamer point of view with an obsession towards video games.
Despite her interest and exceptions for video games it seems she is more against technology, being more trusted towards harmony of nature.
While being capable of playing a small handheld console she was incapable of using a smartphone due too many options available. And even though she considered gaming the gaming system that she process is a older model (retro) game boy color as the game (dragon quest)
Being extremely separated from actual reality as she claims to have no interest in any idea of romance as she deem to Konori Mii (it's a stat pack of an waste.)
However she is unaware of her harboring feelings and hides behind them with excuses afraid to pursue her desires.

Tedashii Hamasaki
It is stated that they both made a promise some time ago on a bet of who would reach level 5 first between the two.
This might hinted they were on good terms with each other before she took Power Curriculum Program. (However this is disconfirm in Aru shinwa no ōrasutōmu) and speculated the promise after she took the power curriculum program. Tedashii does not decline her claim confirming to have agreed upon it.
Even though there relationship is of somewhat positive/neutral the two had their shuffles as Tedashii claims she's a good person who put a stop to some of his crimes. (Admitting they fought each other on serious issues)

However Tedashii broke the ice between the two even stating they are not friends, due to not feeling safe around Espers. This could hint from Tedashii's personal problems he is jealous of her as well and disliked her for her fast growth. Despite how cruel he is to her, she rather easily forgives him rather easy, after attacking him with her Esper ability.
Jeong-Min claims Tedashii is a dangerous influence on her since Li Mei listens to him and make changes to impressed him such as playing video games when shes extremely against technology.

Chronology

Background
It is known she came from China Beijing to invest in Esper abilities rather she rapidly made her way from level 1 to level 4 within a short time span. It is currently known she goes to the same school as Tedashii. She is also one year younger than Tedashii this could mean she skipped a grade.

Lei Mei spots Tedashii and sneak attack him. He dodges her challenge attempts. She reminds him of there bet and claim that he was pretend to dropout of school so he can practice in secret after seeing his Vector Malice. She then attacked him with her esper ability and ask for a duel. Tedashii snaps and tells her to leave after admitting that he did dropout. She tells him that there visor is giving him a second chance and not to give up on his friend, he then states that they are not friends hurting her feelings. She storm off after a judgement member interrupted the quarrel. The judgement member then pick up a invitation slip that she accidentally drop handing it towards Tedashii showing that she was planning to invite him to her party that her family was throwing to celebrate her level up.

She is later teleported away from the shopping center along with everyone excluding Tedashii and Akahana by Move Point, and later seen complaining and crying to a Anti-Skill Officer about her belongings were left behind. The Anti-Skill member advise her to return home to her dorm, but she mistakenly took it as a insult to return back to China. Before she engaged to proceed assault another Anti-Skill Member, (Yomikawa Aiho) effortless calm her down with a joke. She spotted Tedashii sneaking out the shopping center, but was interrupted by Yomikawa, she is later seen looking for her parents with Yomikawa.
