"Atsushi Kai is a recurring character of Toaru Kagaku no Code Vader, and the principal of an unnamed school, where Tedashii Hamasaki, Li Mei Xiaodan, Sogiita Gunha attend to.

As the Principal, Kai tries his hardest to ensure his students are at their sharpest, attending to there trouble needs, although his comedic last minute stunts plays into blackmailing his delinquent students as well the ones who are barely making due with their grades by offering deals in turn to help maintain his status when things are at odds against him.

Principal Kai is a very short man with a bowl cut haircut, always wearing a blue suit. He wears square glasses.

However he could be considered just as childish as his students at times, when his students screw him over, being forgiven but using this those times as opportunities to save himself outta future troubles. Principal Kai first appears when Tedashii is called to his office to talk about his current failing curriculum due to his absents and troubles, to prevent failing him for this semester, Kai offer's Tedashii an opportunity to rise his curriculum by taking the cheerleader elective for the daihaseisai and to assign him to help Sogitta Gunha on rehearsing for the upcoming speech.
