Before Huge and Hunter began their intense battle after changing to their modes, Joe, K and Cecilia were on their way to the second level of the palace, getting to the Majesty's room.

"K, could I ask you a favour?" Joe asked while running faster than Cecilia because he didn't want her to hear what he wants to tell K.

"Yeah? What's up?" K replied, getting the idea.

"Could you go ahead to the Majesty's room first? I need to tell Cecilia something." Joe muttered softly into K's ear.

"Oh sure~. Hoho. So you intend to confess to her right now? Geez. How could you be romantic at a time like this? Oh well. See ya up ahead. Ciao." K then jumped forward and hurried ahead, leaving Joe and Cecilia alone.

"S-Shut up.... It's none of your buisness....." Joe muttered to himself, blushing.

"Joe? Is something the matter? Why did K go ahead first?" Cecilia finally caught up and asked Joe, seeing his embarrassed face.

"C-C-ecilia?! Oh! Er.... It's nothing..... Wait.... It's something..... Er...." Joe was at a loss of words and his face only grew redder the more he stumbled in his words.

"Joe? Are you alright? Your face is growing really red..." Cecilia stopped them from continuing and they halted in the middle of the corridor.

"Cecilia..... I'm fine... Really..." Joe tried to look away but this only made Cecilia move closer.

"Joe..... This isn't like you. What's wrong?" Cecilia questioned, pulling Joe into a hug.

"I-It's.... Cecilia.... Have you noticed anything about me after I recruited you to Dusk Breakers?" Joe inquired, trying not to go straight to the point.

"Huh? What?" Cecilia was clueless.

"Do you like, notice anything different about me since we last met?" Joe made the question more clear so Cecilia could understand.

"Now that you mention it, you really have changed since then. Last time, you were a coward who always can't win fights with other people. Now, you're so strong and I kinda like that." Cecilia blushed slightly upon mentioning that. Joe blushed too.

"Haha... That's true..... Have you noticed anything else about me?"
"You've been extra careful with me. After every training, with Whirl, Grodin. You've always asked me if I was feeling alright. And that time when I was possessed by Viper Stinger. You were the first to rush to me and asked if I was alright."

"Yes. I did all that. D-Do you feel anything at all?"

"Feel anything? I...I....I'm grateful that you care about me."

"Anything else?" Joe was getting worried as he was getting the idea that Cecilia doesn't get what he's saying.

"Wait. What do you mean anything else? *Gasp* Don't tell me, Joe..... Y-You like me?" Cecilia blushed at the mention of the word like. Joe blushed even more.

"Y-Yes! I-I m-mean, No! Wait!! I-I m-mean Yes! No! Yes! Er..." Joe stumbled at his words again.

"Stop it, Joe. You like me, don't you? Say it." Cecilia was getting impatient.

Joe remained silent for a while, trying to muster up courage to confess to her. "Yes, I do. I love you, Cecilia." Joe used every last bit of his courage to confess his feelings to Cecilia.

Cecilia remained silent too, her bangs were shadowing her eyes. Joe was getting worried about Cecilia as he thought she didn't like him. "C-Cecilia.... If you don't like me, you can sa-"

Cecilia then kissed Joe in the lips, shutting him up. Joe returned the kiss after that sudden shock.

"Don't say anymore, Joe.... I love you too.... I was waiting for the chance to confess to you too but I just couldn't find the right time to...." Cecilia then teared up.
Joe started to tear too.

"Cecilia.... You knew this whole time?"

"Yes. I knew it. The reason I chased after you alone was so that I could find you and confess to you." Cecilia explained her actions that day.

"Cecilia...."

"Joe...." They then kissed and hugged each other for a minute or so.

"But, Joe.... Really honestly speaking. You couldn't have picked a better place and time to do this?" Cecilia joked after the kiss.

"I-I-It isn't my fault..... There just wasn't a time when we were alone like now... So, I.." Joe stumbled again.

"Don't say anymore. Let's go. We've got a king to defeat." Cecilia let out her hand to help Joe up. Joe accepted it.

Just at that moment, the palace side that they were on got sliced in half by the intense battle on the roof and rumble from above came raining down on them. Cecilia lost her balance and fell backwards.

"Cecilia!!" Joe then used OP blade and destroyed the rumble that were going to hit her. He then caught her bridal style and they both safely landed on the undamaged side of the palace.

"Are you alright, Cecilia?" Joe inquired concerningly, sheathing his OP blades.

"Yes, I'm fine." Cecilia then hugged Joe tightly. "Thank you."

"Oi,oi. You've got some confidence there. Getting lovey dovey in enemy territory?" A voice suddenly said behind them.

"!! That voice!" Joe turned around immediately and his guess was correct.

"What's with that face? Don't recognize me already?" A man dressed in a ninja like suit with twin blades on his back said with a smirk and his hands folded.

"You're-" Joe let go of Cecilia's hand. Cecilia tried to grab it again but Joe shrugged it off.

"Joe? This isn't like you? What's wrong?" Fear grew on Joe's face. He was trembling and tears were filling his eyes.

"JOE!! ANSWER ME!" Joe then started to cry.
