~Chapter Twenty Seven : A Simple Headache~

Chikage breath in and out as he took off the bandage that (Y/N) carefully wrapped around his head. He looked at his wound on the side of his head using the bathroom mirror. It's been a few days since he got it and being a Cat person, he heals faster than the normal human being. He gave out a twitchy smile as he saw that his wound isn't as bad as it was before. It was now just a scratch to remind him of that day it happened.

Chikage sighed out and disposed of the bandage that protected his wound from infection. He cleaned his face and looked at himself. He was about to smile again, given that his current appearance looks good and perfectly healthy but suddenly, he flinched as the headache came back, disrupting his thoughts. Chikage immediatly placed his hand on his head, in hopes of trying to stop the pain and grit his teeth in slight frustration. It was as if the injury he had a few days ago damaged a part of his brain.

"Damn..." Chikage said, as he felt the headache slowly coming to an ease. When it finally stopped, he sighed out of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

It was going on for a while, Chikage noticed. For a while actually that Chikage had included it as a usual occurance that happens to him. When this kind of headache occurs, it usually only lasts for a few seconds but the pain was something Chikage is not a fond of. He got used to the pain but it didn't mean he was immune to it. The black-haired cat boy didn't know why he's experiencing it but it was possibly a side-effect of his injury.

But he couldn't risk to tell anyone, especially his Master, (Y/N), herself.

He managed to hide it well when he's with others. Though there was a few suspicions from intelligent people like Akito and Fuyuko, they haven't really confronted him about it. He hopes that the headache would just disappear and he guess that it would since the pain is becoming less and less painful everytime it appears. That or it's only because Chikage was getting used to the pain, he really wish that, that wasn't the case. Until then, he wants to hide it from anyone.

It's not because he wants to be alone in this pain, in fact, if he could, he really wanted comfort from his Master. He wants to hear her voice saying how everything is going to be alright.

But he can't or rather, he couldn't. Everytime, he tried telling anyone, a part of him is stopping him from doing so. Chikage doesn't like the idea of making anyone, especially his Master, worry. That's what he's trying to prevent all this time, right? Chikage felt as if worry isn't something necessary when it comes to him and he prefers not letting people stress over someone like him.

With that said, Chikage sighed and pulled on a determined look. "...I can do this." He whispered to himself and exitted the bathroom.

"So, this is what I'm thinking that we should be doing." Aimi said as she pulled out her book and showed a certain topic. "I really find this a lot more interesting than any other topic we had so far~!"

"Oh, I thought about that too, but I settled with this one instead." (Y/N) gave her own suggestion and pulled her book to show the topic that she said.

Everyone gathered in a circle inside one of the guest rooms in Hiromi's mansion. They briefly talked about their school topics with laughter and like how a normal group study goes. Everyone talks about their individual interests and had arguments with the others regarding about the topic.

As they talk, a certain black haired cat boy stays quiet, only talking if necessary. He took advantage of the fact that everyone was so engraved in their work and took this time to relax. Sweat slowly begins to come out of his forehead as his familiar headache appears. His eye twitches but wouldn't let any sign of pain come out of his face.

"Are you all hungry?" Hiromi suddenly asked everyone as they finally looked up from their books. "I could buy us some food."

"Well, I am! But...Why buy some food?" Natsuki asked, blinking as he tilted his head to the side slightly. "Don't you have food here?"

"We do but...I prefer those kinds of normal snacks that students eat when have a group activity." Hiromi admitted.

"Normal snacks..." Everyone thought as they raised their eyebrow.

"Yeah! I'll go buy some from the nearby convience store!" Hiromi suggested, standing up.

Chikage then widened his eyes as he saw opportunity coming in. He turned to Hiromi. "Oh, uh...Can I do it?" He asked. "I have something to buy as well..."

"Hm? You sure?" Hiromi asked. "You might have trouble..."

Chikage stood up. "Nah, it's fine. I'm fine." He said as he hold out his hand. "Just give me the money and I'll buy something for you guys to eat."

He placed his hand on his hip in a sassy way as his tail swayed back and forth. Hiromi blinked and took out his wallet and got a good amount of cash in it. "O-Okay...? Here. You can buy anything you want with that." He said, hesitating a bit.

"You sure? I tend to spend all the money I have with me~?" Chikage asked.

Hiromi sweatdropped. "Uh, yeah! We're all gonna eat it anyway!" He said.

Chikage turned around and shoved the money down his pocket. He shrugged and smiled. "Welp, alright. I'll be back then~!" He said but turned to (Y/N) with a wide smile. "Master, do you have something you want?"

(Y/N) blinked and looked up to think. "Hm...Think you can find (Favorite Snack) for me?" She asked.

Chikage smirked. "Anything for Master~! I'll bring it to you in no time~!" He said. "Welp, I'm going~!"

With that, he exitted the room. (Y/N) and the others blinked and looked at each other. Chikage's actions certainly feels unusual with that.

"(F/S)...(F/S)..." Chikage chanted as he looked through the shelves one by one. He furrowed his eyebrows but lightened up when he finally saw the snack. "There it is! Damn, why is it so hidden?"

He smiled and placed the snack in the cart along with the others and sighed. Chikage gulped and went towards the medicine corner of the store and searched for a certain medicine. He got a few medicine for headache, hoping for it to somehow ease his pain.

Yes, the medicine does ease it but the headache was persistent. But at least, it eases the pain so Chikage will take that.

He sighed in exhaustion and got a bottle of water near him and turned to the cashier. He watched as the lady scanned all his items and said the price. Chikage gave the amount needed and the lady packed all the items and gave it to him. She smiled at him and thanked him as Chikage nodded in response and left the store.

He rummaged through the bag and got the medicine and water bottle. He opened both and chugged about two tablets and drank half of the water in the bottle. Chikage cringed at the taste of the medicine. He may be a good cat but he never really enjoyed drinking bitter medicines. Chikage shrugged it off and continued walking back to Hiromi's home.

As he was walking, Chikage shivered as wind began coming his way, causing him to stop. He breath in and out as he rubbed his arm. "...Why is it so cold today?" He asked no one and gritted his teeth as he placed his hand on his head. "...Damn medicine didn't do anything..."

Chikage gritted his teeth in frustration, he hated how he couldn't do anything but accept the pain. He shooked his head and tried his best to move forward. "I need to go back..." He whispered, looking down. "...To give Master her snack..."

"Oh? What do we have here?" A smug voice made Chikage's ear twitch in alert. He hears footsteps behind him but he couldn't be bothered to look up. They stepped in closer. "A cat person in this time? What luck."

"Say, where's your Master?" One asked as he got closer to him. "You must have a very neglectful Master for you to be alone like this."

Chikage tensed up and silently, clicked his tounge at the bad timing. He hopes that they just say what they want to say and just go away. The black haired cat boy knows that this isn't the perfect time to get involve in a conflict now.

"Hey. Are you listening?" One thug said, getting irritated as he gripped Chikage's shoulder. "Don't you know that you have to listen when someone's talking to you?"

This made Chikage finally looked up with glaring eyes. His boundaries have been crossed and this just irked him. He quickly slapped his hand away from him and stepped back. "Don't touch me." He growled.

The thug looked suprised at first but then, his face distorted into anger and annoyance. "You're one disrespectful cat." He said as he cracked his fingers with two of his accomplices backing him up. "Looks like you need to be taught a lesson, huh!?"

"They're the ones who invaded my space first." Chikage thought as he gritted his teeth in annoyance. His eyes went dark as he prepared for what will come. His eyes dilated and his nails became sharper. "I...Don't have time for idiots who isn't familiar with common sense..."

"Master? Master? Master!" A blonde haired cat boy called as he shook his Master who seems to be in deep thought. (Y/N) blinked and snapped out of her own world as she looked up at everyone.

"H-Huh...? What is it?" (Y/N) blinked in confusion as even she, herself didn't notice that she was zoning out. Everyone stared back at her and looked at each other. (Y/N) smiled awkwardly at everyone, wondering what just happened when her brain was out to lunch. "Um...? What did I miss?"

"Master, are you okay?" Haruki tilted his head to the side. "You seem...distracted."

"Oh..." (Y/N) said as she looked down and sighed. She looked up at everyone who wonders what was wrong and looked down once again. "I'm just...Worried for some reason."

"...About Chikage. I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed here." (Y/N) said. "There's something bugging me about him but he never really said anything about it so I thought maybe I'm just imagining it..."

"But the way he acted earlier...I don't know..." (Y/N) said, scratching the back of his head. "I just have a really bad feeling about it. It's like a sense of Deja Vu..."

"Well, true...I did notice something off about Chikage these days." Akito said. "But I never really said anything about it since I thought it wasn't anything serious..."

(Y/N) bit her bottom lips, feeling guilty for neglecting the black-haired cat boy's well-being. She sighed and stood up, couldn't take the feeling anymore. "I'm gonna go out to look for Chikage." (Y/N) said. "I don't know what's wrong with him but I can't sit still thinking something's happening to him."

"Master, it's dangerous right now..." Haruki said as he looked out the window. "The sun had already set, it's these times where people with bad intentions come out..."

"Haruki's right. It's dangerous to go out now, Master." Akito said. "Besides, Chikage's a tough one, he can handle himself. Isn't he like one of the strongest here?"

(Y/N) looked down and bit her bottom lip. "I-I know...I know that but..." She muttered and took a deep breath. "Just please, it'll be quick. I'll just wait for him outside, is that fine?"

The cat boy's looked at each other in worry, still hesitant in letting their Master go outside. As they were silently debating, a certain white haired cat boy stared at his Master's face, studying at her expression. Finally, he blinked and leaned back. "Isn't it fine?" Fuyuko suddenly said. "Master's just gonna be just outside by the gates, she's not going anywhere, is she?"

"If someone were to hurt her, we could see it from here, see?" Fuyuko said as he pointed to the window that has a clear view of the gates.

The others took his words for consideration and sighed. They looked at (Y/N) who was practically begging with her eyes. "Master...Just be quick about it, alright? When you see Chikage from the distance, yell at him to hurry the hell up and go back quickly." Akito said. "And don't do anything stupid!"

(Y/N) smiled in victory as she nodded and stood up, exitting the room. She ran towards the gates, in hopes of seeing Chikage, unharmed and walking back to them with the supplies he was told to get. She stood and leaned on the gates, looking down as she waits patiently for the black-haired cat boy to come back.

Chikage didn't know what happened.

For a moment, he was ready to kill these guys as soon as they made their move. It was going so well, dodging their attacks and was about to attack back but just as he thought about it, his headache came back. This became a huge obstacle for him, causing his body to stop their movements immediatly to focus on easing his pain.

Unfortunately, the men were too apathetic to care for his well-being and is keen enough to know that this was their chance to strike. One took the opportunity and kicked Chikage in the stomach, causing the cat boy to cough out loud and thrown to the side. Chikage's eyes twitched as he tried to get up but as soon as he looked up, another man was staring down, smirking at him and striked his head with another kick.

Chikage panted as he leaned on the ground for support, feeling his arms beginning to weaken. Then, he felt rough hands pulling his hair up, causing him to yelp out in pain. "Not so tough, after all, huh?" One said, smirking in victory. Chikage bit his bottom lip as he tried to think of a way out despite his body becoming weaker and weaker every second.

Seeing that the cat boy was still somehow kicking, the man holding him snorted and slammed his head on a nearby brick wall. Chikaged yelped once again as he snapped his eyes open in pain and frustration, he could feel a liquid trickling down from his forehead. The man laughed at the sound of his suffering. "Ha ha! Damn, you're still conscious after that!? I guess you are tough after all!" He laughed as he continue on laughing. "Just not as tough as me!"

Chikage was bleeding. He cringed at the smell of his own blood and gritted his teeth. He slowly he raised his hand and grasped the man's hand. Chikage glared at the man behind him, his red eyes glowing in the dark. "...Screw. You." He said, his voice sounding intimidating and deeper than usual. "Go to hell."

Then, Chikage sharpened his nails and buried them in the man's flesh before pulling his hands down. This created a long and deep gash in the man's arm. This made the man yelp in pain and immediatly threw harshly on the side, giving Chikage a rough landing. "You little piece of...!" The man said, clutching his bleeding arm and glared at him. "You're dead now!"

Chikage tried lifting himself up once again, however due to the amount of pain his body has to take, it couldn't hold off anymore. This was those times where he wished he could borrow Haruki's ability to feel less pain instead of helplessly looking up to his demise. He narrowed his eyebrows and closed his eyes, feeling the footsteps of the men coming towards him.

"Master..." was the only thing that he could think of at this moment. He panted as he vision began to darken. "I guess I can't bring your snack to you after all..."
