Arthur Kirkland sat alone in his room again. He was trying to study for his final tests of his senior year of high school. If he aced this, he knew he'd be valedictorian. That's one of the only things that the class president wanted. Other than colors. He wanted to know what they looked like, but the world would continue to remain black and white until he met his soulmate. His mother and father, when they had met, saw the color for hours after meeting. Now, every time they touch, the world suddenly explodes into color. Arthur wished he could see if his eyes were really the same color as an emerald. He wanted to see what his hair color was. But, like so many other people in this world, he was certain he'd never see color a day in his life. He was just the know it all in the front of the class in a sea of 8 billion people. It was almost impossible that he ever find the love of his life amongst any of the people he met. Or at least, the one that would let him see color.

In another town across the sea, another boy about the same age as Arthur was getting ready to move to Arthur's town. His name was Francis Bonnefoy. He was certain he'd find someone to let him see the color of the world. He had to. He wanted so badly to find his true love, and see the beauty of colors.
Maybe he'd be able to finally find that one person.
