The group stood in the cold room, their eyes slowly adjusting to the darkness.

"I read about this in a book once. We just need to find a lever which will open a passage to lead us into the guards office. After that, we're free to roam the prison and get Grian out of here." Xanthe, explained, feeling around the wall for anything that seemed out of the ordinary.

The Hermits began doing the same, running their hands along the grimy walls. Eventually a click was heard and a door opened up. They all made their way to the light, entering a small office quickly. The wall slid back into place behind them, once again concealing the other room.

"Act natural guys." Xanthe said, reaching for the door handle and turning it clockwise. The door opened with a click and swung gently on its hinges.
The group walked out, looking around to see that the area was mostly empty other than a few guards speaking to eachother.

"It must be lunch time or something..." Xisuma guessed, glancing around the room which seemed to be a large cell block.

"How are we going to find him when there's thousands of cells?" Mumbo asked, a downcast expression appearing on his face.

"This might be a stretch but I should be able to perform a locating spell. I've already expended a lot of energy with the disguises and invisibility so this could be difficult.

"We should at least try!" Mumbo exclaimed, jumping at the opportunity immediately.

Xanthe nodded, pulling his spell book out of his bag and opening it up to a page near the middle. Mumbo got a glance of the book, looking at all of the messages which were in Galactic and unreadable to the redstoner.

Xanthe closed his eyes and muttered a few phrases before a glowing orb appeared in his hands which he held cupped in front of him. The orb transformed into a compass immediately and pointed towards where Grian had supposedly been.

Mumbo instantly snatched the compass from Xanthe, clutching it close to himself. Without a second thought, he began running through the corridor, following the red needle behind the glass casing.

The rest of the group began to chase after him, Xisuma trying to get Mumbo to stop running. However, Mumbo continued, seemingly speeding up as he turned a corner.

Mumbo felt tears prick in the corners of his eyes. He had barely had a chance to stop and think during the past few weeks. He'd constantly been focusing on one thing at a time and almost forgot what it was like to get so close to reuniting with someone. A few tears dropped to the floor, though he couldn't tell whether he was happy or not. He had already lost his friend twice and once he got Grian back, he'd make sure that it would never happen again. He turned the last corner and ran down the hallway, finally stopping in front of a dark cell.

Ren skidded on the floor as he turned a final corner, seeing Mumbo gripping the bars of the cell and staring inside, an unreadable expression on his face. Xisuma slowly reached the cell, gasping and putting a comforting hand on Mumbo's shoulder. The group all glared inside, devastated looks on their faces. Mumbo and Scar tried not to cry, however they were tired and couldn't help the tears escape. Xisuma was furious. He was determined to make Sam pay for what he'd done.

Ren and Doc finally reached the cell and gasped, eyes lingering on the sight on the inside. An unconscious body lay, heaped against the cell's bars and another laughing maniacally with bloodied hands. Feathers lay scattered around the cold floor and blood was splattered on both figures.

This chapter is the first I've posted in a while, however I'm working on the next one which will explain why the Hermits were so shocked at what they found in the cell. There should only be a few more chapters after this one, so I'm trying to make them as well as possible. Even once I'm finished, I'm planning to edit the old chapters to make them much better as I made them over a year ago and my writing style has changed quite a lot.
