Chapter 23

Alice rushed out the airport with Charlie shortly behind her. "Babe, calm down," Charlie insisted.

"Charlie, she knows. She knows you are her dad!" Charlie pulled Alice to a stop and stared into her worried eyes.

"I know. Just calm down. She is most likely freaked out right now. She already hates me as it is. Just calm down."

"I don't know what to do."

"We'll figure it out. Let's just wait for Anna and Dwayne to come out now. You didn't even get your luggage."

"We got it. Only took like two minutes since ours were first," Dwayne said as he pushed the trolley with their luggage. "Come on, lets go."

William walked over to where Juliet was sitting. "Just go. You knew all this time and you didn't think to tell me?"

"Juliet, please, listen to me."

"Just go."

"You've been like that for the last eight hours."

"I SAID GO!" Juliet got up from the single sofa and marched upstairs to her room. William sighed and sat down on the sofa. Alice barged through the door as soon as she turned the key.

"Juliet! Juliet, honey, please let me explain." Juliet came down the stairs with tears running down her face.

"I...I'm sorry Charlie. I just...If I knew..."

"It's fine," he smiled at her. Juliet ran into his arms and he held her tight.

"I'm so sorry," she cried. William quietly put on his jacket and walked out the door. Juliet was happy now, and that's all he wanted for her. He put his earphones in and turned up his volume. He lightly hummed to the song as he walked to his house. He stared up at the sky and smiled when he saw the full moon. He remembered the day Juliet told him she loved him while they stared up at the stars. He walked into his house and went straight to his room. After changing his clothes, he jumped into bed. He looked at his phone and saw he had a missed call from Juliet. He called her back but she didn't answer. He heard the front door open and heard heavy footsteps run up the stairs. The door to his room swung open and he felt an elbow jab his side.

"God, you didn't have to jump. You poked my side."

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to shout at you." William sighed and pulled the blanket from beneath her and then covered her.

"I just didn't think it was my place to tell you." He softly kissed her and then wrapped his arms around her. "Did you call your dad?"

"He...I called him after I shouted at you. He said that I'm not his responsibility anymore."

"Juliet, I don't know why you thought Charlie broke up your family. Your dad- well Ralph- never spent any time with you. You are just lucky Henry is your twin."

"I guess," she yawned. "Today has been such a long day."

"I know. Just go to sleep."

"I love you, Liam."

"I know. I love you."

Anna quietly walked past her son's bedroom and leaned against the doorway. "Will?" she whispered. He opened his eyes and turned his head to face his mother.

"Yeah?"

"You two okay?"

"Yeah."

"Her dad is an ass."

"I know. I'm not saying what he did was right, but he forced into it. He had to raise a child that wasn't his. His whole life was kinda ruined. And then Alice," he stopped and sighed. He had no words. Everything was messed up. "I know Ralph loves Juliet, he just didn't show it. And now that she knows that Charlie is her dad, I think he is just thinking that Juliet won't talk to him anymore."

"I know," Alice sighed. "Just go to sleep."

---

Juliet groaned as she rolled over. "Juliet, get your hair out of my face," William complained. He sighed and moved it out of his face.

"Morning to you too."

"Oh hush." He moved her off him and turned her to her side. "Morning," he smiled at her. She moved her body closer to him.

"It's cold," she whined.

"I know."

"And you're warm."

"I know."

"I love you."

"I know."

"You are so annoying sometimes."

"I know."

"Shut up," she whined.

"You are so not a morning person," he softly chuckled. He kissed her shoulder and moved up to her neck.

"Leave me alone."

"Then get up."

"No, it's cold." William leaned over Juliet to get into his draw. He pulled out his jumper and got up.

"Wear this." He put it over her and smiled. "There you go."

---

"No! You can't do that!" Juliet screamed at Charlie. "The flowers can't go here!"

"Sorry."

"If you want to make her birthday special, then listen to me."

"You are just like your mother," Charlie muttered.

"I heard that."

"You were meant to." Juliet rushed around trying to organise everything. "You know, this time last week, when you hated me, you didn't even scream at me this much."

"Haha, very funny."

"I know, right?" William came through the door holding two boxes of beer.

"Why did you get two boxes?"

"Because, babe, men drink a lot of beer. And there is a match later on."

"Alright. Whose playing?"

"It's gonna be in the garden."

"The girls are gonna win. Just like last time."

"We'll see."

Juliet heard a car pull into the driveway and looked out the window. "Everyone hide!"

Anna dragged Alice to the door and grinned. "Why are you so eager to get into my house?"

"I just wanna show you a little something." Alice cautiously opened the door and screamed when everyone screamed Happy Birthday.

"Aw, thanks guys." She looked around her and saw all her closest friends and family. "I thought you all forgot." Charlie walked over to her and smiled.

"No babe, it was just part of the plan."

"Thanks."

"You don't seemed that surprised," Juliet frowned.

"Charlie always told me that when I turned forty, he would throw a surprise party." Alice smiled up at Charlie as she gave him a glass of wine.

"Well, lets get the party started then!" William screamed.

---

"We win!" Juliet screamed.

"You cheated!"

"Girls win fair and square."

"You guys have to look so damn beautiful when you run around the bloody grass," David groaned. "Oh Britney, my love."

"What?"

"See what they do," he said as he looked at William. "I call her love and she goes-"

"Oh shut up," Britney laughed as she sat on his lap. "I love you."

"Yeah, yeah, I love you. too." Britney gasped and slapped his arm. "I'm kidding. Feelings not exactly mutual." Britney huffed and got up, pulling up Juliet from William's lap.

"See you soon Juliet," William said as Britney dragged her back in the house. "Beer?"

"Yeah." Charlie came and sat down on the empty chair around the table. Dwayne did the same.

"So, guys, it's Christmas in-"

"Wait, we forgot Mason."

"I'm here, just had to get away from the wife."

"As I was saying," Dwayne said. "It's Christmas soon and we all know how the ladies are. So, me and Mason and Charlie were thinking-"

"Why didn't I come first?"

"What?"

"You said Mason's name first. Why didn't I go first?"

"Because Mason was sitting closer to me, and I saw him first."

"Do I have to sit closer to you then?" he questioned as he moved closer.

"Just stop. As I was saying, we all thought of the idea. Christmas is coming up, and we all know how the ladies are. They all find the presents before Christmas, so I rented out a storage place to put our real presents in. We will all 'hide' the fake presents, which will be like socks, maybe a barbie, and let them find it."

David and William both laughed. "We will finally get them back."

"Yes we will."

"So, boys, we in?" Charlie said as he put his hand in the middle.

"All in," everyone said together.

"The boys are coming," William smirked.

See you all soon, love you guys :)
