I wake up with a start really confused, head pounding, and overall quite shaken. Every part of me feels weak. I look at the time and realize it's close to dinner time. I'm about to call Violet to ask her what she wants for dinner when I remember what had happened. I start to panic again. No I can't do this, not now. I need to go find Violet and make sure she is safe. My stomach rumbles and sounds like a volcanic eruption. Maybe I should eat some food first though. I will never be able to defeat Jade and get Violet back if I'm weak with hunger. I head to the kitchen to get some food after I pick up the no longer frozen bag of peas. I put the peas back into the freezer and grab a frozen pizza to eat. I set the pizza on the counter then turn on the oven. I take a look at my wrist after the oven is set to the right temperature. It is still badly bruised and swollen. It still really hurts as well. Thank the Lord that mom hurt her wrist a few months ago because now we have a wrist brace. I go to the bathroom to grab the wrist brace and some pain killers. I put the brace on and take the pills right as the oven goes off so I put the pizza in it. My mind is still racing with thoughts of Violet wondering if she is ok, but I push those thoughts aside because I need to stay focused on getting to the Black Forest and getting her home safe.

I finish dinner and go to my room to change since my clothes are still somewhat damp. I change into a maroon cropped sleeved shirt, black jeans, brown combat boots, and a black bomber jacket. I also tie my hair into a side braid. I grab my backpack and empty it of its contents. I start to fill it up with things I may need to say Violet. Things like some granola bars, water bottles, first aid kit, flashlight, and last but not least I go to the safe in our parent's room and grab my dad's pistol. I'm so happy dad has brought me to the range a few times. I hope it doesn't come down to me having to use it, but I have no idea what Jade has in store for me.

My anxiety is screaming at me to stop and just call the cops, but I can't. I need to do this for myself.... and for Violet. Before I leave the house I look up the fastest route to the Black Forest. I don't care if she said 10 p.m. I'm coming as soon as possible. The forest is only a half hour walk from my house. Don't worry Violet. I'm coming for you, no matter what. I leave the house not turning back once.
