CHAPTER 2
I'm not confused as I wake up on the hard cold floor with my raven black hair sprawled around everywhere. It happens all the time. I gradually raise myself off the floor trying to not aggravate my pulsating headache. I casually turn my head to check my alarm clock. I physically cringe when I see the time, 5:26 a.m. The last time I looked at the clock it was 2:54 a.m. Great, just great. I got less than 4 hours of sleep again. Oh well. I'm just going to go shower it may help relax me after that panic attack. I stand cautiously on wobbly legs and go to the bathroom. I try to avoid looking in the mirror to see the horror that I call myself. I hate mirrors. All they do is reflect and show you all the things you don't want to see. In my case it's my whole body.
I turn on the water then head to my closet to grab my outfit for the day. I gather everything I need and head to the bathroom. I get into the shower and let the warm water cascade down my body, actually feeling all the doubts and worries wash away. After about thirty minutes I decide to get out of the shower. I open up the shower curtain and I'm confronted with an arctic blast of freezing air. I quickly grab my towel and cover myself in its warmth. I hurry up and put on my black ripped jeans, a white fitting tank top, my birth dad's military jacket, and my black combat boots. After I'm dressed and feel very warm I continue my morning routine. I brush my teeth and then my hair, my hair bounces back to its original wavy form as soon as the brush goes through it. I go back to my room and get on my laptop since I still have awhile to kill before I need to get my little sister Violet up for school.
My alarm clock goes off to tell me that it is time to get Violet. I head down the hall and get to her room to see her sleeping peacefully. I smile at how cute she looked. Despite how cute she looked I jumped on her bed smirking evilly.
"TIME FOR SCHOOL!!! WAKEY WAKEY EGGS AND BAKEY!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. She groaned while trying to find a pillow to cover her ears with. I grabbed the searching hand and pulled on it to get her out of the bed. "Let's go its time to get ready for school...." She groaned once more and covered her eyes with her hand before saying,
"I will get up on one condition." With her finger pointed at me. I knew what she was going to say but I still decided to play along.
"And what might that be?" I asked. She pulled her arm away from her eyes and smiled at me with her finger still pointed at me.
"You make ME eggs and bakey." she said referencing to what I had said before hand to wake her up. I grabbed her finger and shook it in my hand while saying, "Deal." I head down stairs after I make sure she is out of her bed to make her eggs and bacon. I open the fridge and gather all of the items I need and place them on the counter. I crack the eggs and put them on the griddle as the bacon sizzles and pops on the other side. After the eggs are scrambled and the bacon is crisp I put them on plates for Violet and I. As I head to the fridge to put everything away and to grab the orange juice I hear footsteps coming down the stairs. Violet runs in front of me asking,
"Do you like what I'm wearing?", with the biggest smile on her face. I smile at her while I look to see what she is wearing. She has a black and white striped shirt with black leggings, short overalls, a red flannel around her waist, white converse, and a red bow in her hair to tie it all together. I was really impressed. She has way better style than I do!
"Well you look just adorable Violet." She beamed with pride and said thank you as she sat down in her normal spot at the table. I brought over her orange juice and food and then went back to the counter to go grab mine. As I turn around to go back to the table I see Violet already stuffing her face. She sees me looking and freezes with half a piece of bacon hanging from her mouth. I giggle at her goofiness and sit down next to her. We eat in silence for a little bit. She finishes her food right as I look at the clock. Oh my goodness she has 3 minutes to get to the bus! My anxiety raises as I shout to Violet who was in putting her dishes away,
"Violet, let's go you have 3 minutes to get to the bus!" her eyes widen and she races up the stairs. I run to the sink and drop my dishes off. No more than a second later Violet is scurrying down the stairs with both my backpack, phone, and her backpack. She places my stuff down on the table while I tossed her lunch box to her. We gather our things and run out the door. Good thing the bus stop is right next to our house or she would have missed the bus. Her bus arrives just as we get there. All the other kids get on the bus as Violet turns around and hugs me. We say our goodbyes and then she is on the bus. I wave as the bus drives away, then I turn around and head to the high school.
