I skate across

The smooth ice

Of my imagination

Spinning upon the bliss

Of freedom

Joyful exclamation

Something stirred

Under the ice

Of my peace

Sending

Large cracks

Across the surface

Leaving

A gaping

Hole of water

Cold

Murky darkness

Sinking faster

The grooves

Of reality

Cause me to fall

My hands slide

Grasping wet ice

But it's like a wall

The sun of tomorrow

Rises too quickly

For me to forget

Melting

What was left

Of my present

Ice slipped

Into oblivion

The water accepting it's soul

Taking my thoughts

Into it's depths

Never again whole

Tomorrow

Destroyed my dream

Of the moon

Yesterday

Was a dim memory

Against the gloom

Freeze once again

My vision

Let me not remember

But reality

Like quicksand

Keeps me under

Let the rink

Of imagination

Be open once again

Free from

The reality of life

The feeling of pain

Let me skate again

Without cracks

Across the surface

Let me rise again

To find the ice

Still firm beneath my skates
