The Girl In My Mirror
When I was a little girl, my parents and I lived in this old house. It was a bit old-fashioned but, it was home.
The years I lived in that house were all good, and bad things hardly happened. That is until my dad found an old mirror hidden in the attic. He thought that I'd like it so instead of throwing it away, he put it in my room.
All was well, but things started to go wrong when I turned 12...
I would wake up in the middle of the night and find some of my things strewn across the floor.
I found it odd but always brushed it off. Whenever this happened and I got out of bed to pick up the items, I would always feel someone watching me. But every time I turned around to check, no one would be there. It would just be me staring at my reflection in the mirror.
One particular night, I woke up, and again I saw that a few of my belongings had been strewn across the floor of my room. So, I got out of bed and could feel someone staring at me. I turned around and saw the mirror.
But this time it wasn't my reflection I had seen. I was met with the face of a girl around my age. She had long black hair, her skin was pale and she was wearing a long white dress.
She looked at me and started to crawl out of the mirror slowly...
I was too terrified to move, my body felt glued to the floor.
The girl crawled over to me and stood up.
"What do you want from me?..." I asked quietly.
She leaned over my ear and whispered something.
My breath hitched in my throat as I pushed her on the floor and tried to run to my parent's room. But she grabbed my ankle, pulling me down with her. I tried to kick her hand off my ankle but it was no use. Her grip was too strong.
I tried pulling my leg away from her but nothing was working.
I looked around and saw a few books lying on the floor. I reached for one and threw it at her face. It hit her in the head but it didn't seem to phase her as she sank her sharp nails into my leg causing me to let out a scream of pain. I could feel the fresh blood begin to seep out of the wound and onto the floor.
The girl began to drag me across the floor, towards the mirror.
I had to do something.
And it had to be quick.
I looked around and grabbed a large book that had been lying on the floor.
I turned around and threw it straight at the mirror, causing it to shatter into a million pieces.
The girl let out a loud screech and disappeared.
My parents burst through my bedroom door and started badgering me with questions as to why the mirror was broken.
Had they not heard my screams?
I would have thought that all of this was just a bad dream if it were not for the large scar on my leg.
12 years have passed since the incident.
My parents and I moved out of that house.
And I moved on with life.
But there is one thing from that night that stuck with me.
What the girl had said.
Every time I think about what she had said to me still brings shivers up my spine.
"I needed a replacement..."
The End.
Or is it?
