Repetition
Sally sold sea shells on the sea shore.
Say that seventy times every second.
I'm sure you remember it, that challenge you got in elementary school.
Do you remember how you struggled over the words, and laughed about it?
Are you laughing now, as you struggle over the simple sentences?
'Do you need anything?'
All you manage is a hum, because you know the second you open your mouth something stupid will happen.
Doesn't anyone notice how much it pains you to speak?
I don't know you, don't talk to me.
I'm not good enough for your attention, but I'll still cry about it later when I'm wondering why I'm alone.
I have moments where I feel beautiful, but when all they point out is your flaws, doesn't majority rule?
Everything's cold, from my heart to my body.
But hey, at least Sally's making a living.
