Chapter 37-New Life

Khairi's POV

Three months passed quickly in a blink of an eye. Ayaan and I spent 2 weeks in Indonesia and it had been nothing but blissful.

Since I missed many days of work,I worked harder than before and Alhamdullilah!, my hardwork had paid off.

In these three months,I haven't heard a single thing about Ruma or her whereabouts and I'm more than glad.

Zahra lives in Katsina with the man she's now madly in love with,Haidar. They're living happily.

She and I are now at the 'I don't hate you and I don't like you'stage of friendship. But we still talk and chat,laugh a times, but not too much. Same as Adda Hami.

As for Saffy,she's now Zahra's bff. Like seriously, they're best friends. If you see them you'll think they were friends since childhood.

And news flash,Maryam,Hanifa and Zahra are pregnant!. All three months preggie.

As for Ruky and Kamal. The two lovebirds are dating,in love,and getting married in 5 months to come. I've never seen Ruky as happy as she is with Kamal.

And Adda Hami,She gave
birth last week to a bouncing baby boy. Baby Asad. Today is the naming ceremony.

Ayaan and I had our own share of quarrels during those three months but we always fix it up in the most funny way.

I'm at my parents house where the naming ceremony is taking place.

I just came back from the kitchen with a plate full of fried rice and a bottle of Hibiscus drink. I'm hungry,don't blame me.

I entered Adda Hami's room where they girls are.

I sat next to Maryam while the girls eyed me suspiciously.

"What?" I asked innocently

"Khairi,that's your third plate so far in five hours since you came" Hanifa stated while Adda Hami,Zahra,Maryam,Ruky and Saffy nodded.

"Yeah so?, I'm hungry so don't blame me,and the others were two small plates" I replied eating a spoonful of my delicious rice savouring the taste. Gosh this taste so good.

"I think she's pregnant'Adda Hami said collecting Baby Asad from Ruky

I glared at her mouthful " Your senses are still not back Adda Hami, get it checked wallah"I said stuffing another spoonful

Adda hami hissed throwing a pillow at me which I dodged "Disrespectful girl kawai,I know what I'm saying. You're pregnant, you don't even notice it and yet you call yourself a Gynaecologist"

"I'm not pregnant" I stressed each word.

So what,I might've gained a little more weight and my skin's glowing a bit. I eat a little too much and I have petty headache, that doesn't mean I'm pregnant right?

"I agree with Adda Hami, I think you are pregnant" Maryam shrugged while I slapped the back of her head with my hand

"Useless girl,you're supposed to be on my side"i said glaring at her playfully

She dramatically gasped " Careful,I'm carrying a baby, now you don't want me to report you to Habibi do you?" She asked referring to Ya Hamid

"Wannan Kuma kya fada wa wadda batada miji Ai" I hissed returning back to munching on my delicious food and heavenly drink.

They laughed.

"Amma seriously I think you are pregnant" Hanifa said

"I'm not" I replied finishing my drink and food. I sighed sadly that I've already ate up my food.

I just remembered that Adda hami have some sweet delicacies that Ammie made for her making me smile at her.

"My one and only most wonderful sister na" I said battling my eyelashes cutely

"What do you want my oh so good baby sister" she replied sweetly too because she knows I want something from her.

"Can I have a piece of your delicacies please?" I asked giving her my best puppy look

"Sure,pick any you want" she simply replied and I looked at her wide eyed

"Yau za a yi ruwan sama da qanqara ,Adda Hami tayi kyauta hanu bude"I muttered to myself taking the delicacies and munching it down

"Idiot, ki maida min Abu na tunda bakida godiya" She replied

"Ah ah,no thank you my best sister" I replied savouring this delicious sweet delicacies.

Just then,Ameera and Feenah walked In. They said that Ammie and Abba are calling both I and Adda hami. We took our veils and went to Abba's parlor where they all were,with Ayaan,Ya Hamid,Ya Hamza,Affan and .........Louritta??!, why is she here.

I settled next to Ayaan and gave him a questioning look to which he just shrugged. Ammie looked furious,and by the looks of it she's trying so hard not to let hell break lose. I wonder what's going on?

Abba who looked angry too cleared his throat and spoke in a calm voice yet dripping with anger.

"Khairi, Louritta wants to tell you something" he said gesturing to Louritta who had her head down.

I looked at her waiting for her to say something.

"Khairi.. I...I'm really sorry" she said still not looking up.

I was confused "Why?, What's wrong?" I asked still confused

"I'm really sorry,I didn't mean it" she replied again .

"Louritta what are you talking about you're scaring me,what did you do?" I asked frustratedly.

"The...the incident.. At..at your house....you.. Didn't slip down,I..I.." She started sobbing quietly

"You what Louritta?!" I asked again exasperatedly. Oh please don't let it be what I think she means.

"I pushed you down" she confessed in a quiet voice.

My mind shut down, I stopped wide eyed mouth agape. I didn't know what to think or say or react. I couldn't even blink. Did I just hear her right?

"You pushed me" I kept repeating that quietly to myself with my tear filled eyes. I felt Ayaan's hands held mine gently although I could feel him tense it's clear he's trying to maintain his calmness, but I could do that, I just couldn't, she's the reason I lost my baby!

I shot my red eyes wide open and glared at Louritta "You pushed me down the stairs,HOW COULD YOU I TRUSTED YOU!!!" I yelled at her tears streaming down my face

"I...I..I'm so..sorry-"

"NO!!, I'LL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL LOURITTA, YOU KILLED MY BABY,YOU'RE THE REASON WHY I LOST MY BABY, WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO YOU " I shouted again crying endlessly. Ayaan held me back but I still continued

"Khairi please forgive me,I..I didn't mean to" she pleaded but it fell on deaf ears,I was blinded by anger, I could only see red. The pain of losing my child came back again,and it doesn't help that she's the cause of it.

"I PROMISE YOU THIS LOURITTA, YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS,THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT" I yelled again still in tears

"Khairi,I'm really sorry,I'll accept whatever decision you decide on me but please forgive me please I beg of you" she pleaded again with tear filled eyes.

"Muhammad, take her out,she needs to calm down" Abba said to Ayaan who nodded and took me out and I couldn't even protest. I kept crying in Hus arms till the darkness engulfed me.

"She needs to rest,the stress is not good for all of them"

"Of course doctor,thank you so much for coming on such short notice"

I heard faint voices around me as I slowly opened my eyes and tried to sit up and i winced loudly as head hurt badly.

Someone quickly rushed to my side and helped me lay back down. "Careful" he whispered. Ayaan.

"What happened?" I asked when my vision cleared and I can see clearly now.

"You fainted, but you now need to rest,it's not good for both of you" he said holding my hands placing a kiss on it and smiling at me.

"What are you talking about?" I asked dumbfounded.

"Baby you're pregnant" he said

I chocked on my own saliva "I'm what?" I asked wide eyed

"We're pregnant baby" he replied again smiling widely.

"Alhamdullilah" I said tears of joy coming out of my eyes.

He kissed my forehead "Thank you so much baby,you've made me the happiest man alive,may Allah bless you abundantly my wife"

"Amin" I said as he engulfed me in a warm hug.

Alhamdullilah, I just hope all is over and this is the beginning of a new start for us.

RUMA'S POV

I stared at Ayaan and Khairi through the window of their hospital room hugging each other. I smiled sadly as I turned to walk away back to my ride,I hope they can live happily now.

After boarding on the airplane, the flight took off. I brought out my phone, plugged in my earpiece and played Camilla Cabello's Crying in the Club and closed my eyes.

Dear Khairi, I hope you find Louritta's confession as the first step of you and Ayaan moving forward and living your happy and peaceful married life without Zahra and I trying to ruin it. It is the only thing I could do to you.

I can't say that I'm happy with you two being together, I love Ayaan,so much and I'd be really hard to move on and forget him but he's not mine from the beginning anyway he was yours,so it's high time I learn to accept the bitter truth.

I'm leaving, going far away,from my family,friends,just everyone and everything. I'm gonna start a new life and become a better person Insha Allah.

I'm looking forth to begin a new life and I sincerely hope you'll find it in your heart to forgive me one day.

I wiped the tears that fell on my face and smiled determinedly,i will start a new life and no longer look back.
