KHAIRI'S POV

"Well,that dinner was eventful" I said to Ayaan who was sitting on the bed. I am coming from the bathroom all dressed up in my spongebob PJs.

What?,I'm just 19 and I love my cartoons

"Don't even remind me of it" he sighed. I went and sat on the bed,dragging the duvet covering half of my body.

After the dinner,Ayaan was so angry,that I just went to the bathroom and took a long relaxing bath,of course, being careful with my feet. I can manage to walk,earlier Ayaan was just being too possessive and caring that he didn't let me walk.

"So Zahra and Haidar huh?" I asked while wraps his arms around my shoulder and waist,my head on his chest

"Yes,Haidar wanted to marry her,so Uncle ask for her hand in marriage for him" he replied

"When did that happen?" I can't believe someone wanted to marry Zahra,Zahra Umar Qureish,the friend to Ruma. Don't get me wrong,she's beautiful and smart, but her manners are not that good. I honestly pity whoever's gonna marry her,even more on this case,my cousin.

"Three weeks ago" he replied kissing my forehead. "Now,let's sleep,it's been a long day for both of us" he concluded while I snuggled more into him and slipped to lala land.

The next day,I woke up early before Ayaan. It's his birthday and I'm planning a surprise birthday party for him. It's not much,but it's all I could do on such short notice,and for that to happen,I need to get him out of the house, so the guys are gonna take him out while I pretend as if I have no knowledge on his birthday being today. It's actually a great plan and what could possibly go wrong?

I woke up around 7:00am. I know Ayaan's gonna wake up around 8:00am so I've got an hour to start the prep. I took my shower and dressed up in one of Ayaan's hoodie and my dark denim,his hoodie kinda makes me look so cute,and with that,I wrapped my veil around my head before going downstairs.

All my cousins, both male and females are at the kitchen,even Salman,Yaqub and Kamal are here, they came earlier. It's only our parents and the children that are asleep, plus Ayaan.

The ladies are making breakfast while the guys are helping around in anyway they could. Surprisingly though,even Zahra's here,she's talking to Bahi,Amal and Safiyya. She gets along with all our cousins except I,Adda hami and Safeena.

"Assalamu alaikum, Good morning peeps!" I exclaimed grinning

"Wa alaikissalam,good morning to you too Khairi" they replied simultaneously

"Good morning Matar Ayaan" Hanifa teased while I smirked

"Good morning Matar Affan" I replied making my way to Saffy and Tammy whilst Hanifa blushed and turn to look away only to make eye contact with Affan who winked at her making us 'aww-ed'

"so,Khairi,when's Ayaan gonna wake-up?" Mara asked

"Around 8" I simply replied helping them with the breakfast

"Ok,good,so you guys get the plan right?" Tammy asked the guys while they nodded

"Yes ma'am" Shaheed replied kissing her on the cheek

"Malam,save this for later,till when my husband's here too gaskiya" I said faking a serious face making them all burst into laughter

"Toh mai husband,as If you weren't the one who hated him most last year'' Adda Hami said fake glaring at me

"yesso,that was before,thing's changed now "I shrugged. Just then, my phone ranged,I picked it up only to see Ruky,it's a video call. I picked it up

" Salaam!! "I exclaimed

" wasalam idiot, wallahi I miss you all soo much"she screamed

"We miss you too" I replied

"Ehn,where are those idiotic newly weds?" She asked referring to Maryam and Hamida

"See us ooo" Hanifa replied standing next to me waving her hand at Ruky

"Ke,do you want to damage my ear drums ne?" Maryam teased waving at Ruky too

"Fool kawai,how you dey,I'm coming too ooo I'll be there in about three hours'' she said

" Today you don't have work kenan" I teased whereas Salman, Yaqub and Kamal smiled

"Yesso,today Mr Grumpy Arrogant guy travelled so I'm free" she yelled and we burst into fists of laughter,she has no idea Kamal is here and he's hearing whatever she said

"Who is that?" Hanifa faked innocence

"Who else kuwa, my boss mana" Ruky shrugged

"Ke,watch what you're saying fa,I know you can't day that to his face" Maryam warned knowingly

"Puh-lease, you know very much I can,that is if he don't give me that look that sends me six feet under,the man's presence alone is scary" She chattered on and on while we all are laughing including Kamal

"But Ruky you do know you don't have to work right?, they're still not good with you working" I said seriously hitting the sensitive topic

"Khairi please don't bring them up,and I'm not gonna stop working, I'll prove to them i can be independent" she said and we all knew how much she meant that

"Ruky,they don't mean you couldn't be independent you know. They're just overprotective of you,you're their princess" Maryam reasoned

"No,they don't want me to do anything" Ruky argued

"Ruky they can give you anything you want,and like maryam said,they're just being overprotective of you,don't you think it's time you go back" Hanifa said softly

"Hanifa I'm not going back,not until i prove my point or else Eaman's gonna grow up just like I did,and I don't want that. Moreover, I can't back out now,you knew what this decision cost me" She said her voice breaking down a bit

"Hanifa they just love you so much,and I'm pretty sure Eaman's not gonna be like that" I said

"I guess,but I'm still not going back yet.............Enough of that already,now back to my boss. He's sooooo arrogant, too bossy,never smiles,he's a workaholic, and who does he take me for,I'm not an engine like him that works all the time, you get what I'm saying right?, the man's gotten lighten up a bit" and just like that ,it's back to the old talkative Ruky

"Ah ah fa,be careful Ruky,I suggest you look for a new job as soon as possible" Maryam warned laughing hard

"Why?" Ruky asked

"Because your boss, is here and he heard it all" I shrugged trying to hide my smile but I failed and bursted into laughter

"What?!?!!" She screamed wide eyed

"Yesso,you're on speaker,and all my cousins are here and they heard you" I smiled evilly

"Khairi,Maryam, Hanifa your fadaaaaaaaaaaaas,you kill me"she screamed before cutting the call making us all laugh hard including Kamal who was amused by her behavior

" this is so much fun,I can't wait to see her face when she comes and sees kamal,I bet her eyes would be wide as saucers"Hanifa laughed evilly before we joined her while making breakfast.

Around 4pm,everything for the party was set. Ayaan's still oblivious of it,and is still out with the guys,but they'll be here any minute from now.

I am dressed up in my baby pink top and a black high waist skirt with flowery designs all over. Simple yet classy,not too much,just right!

There were four cakes made. I personally,made him a chocolate cake,because I know it's his fave,and besides,who doesn't love chocolate cakes

The girls made him an emoji cake,and it is so beautiful

the guys bought him a cake because we all know they can't bake, and when we tried to state that,they argued saying 'We don't have enough time to make it,otherwise we would've made one better than yours'

Our aunts,mamii and ammie,together with Lola and Halmeoni made him a four step layered beautiful cake

Five minutes later,the guys arrived and we all screamed
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY AYAAN!!!".
The look on his face,said it all,he loved it. Soon he was engulfed in hugs and everyone kept wishing him happy birthday.

" Happy Birthday Amor"I said hugging him tightly when everyone left to the garden, where the party was set

"Thanks baby,but you really didn't have to do this" he said kissing my cheeks

"Yes I do,besides,I wanted to do it,even though it's not much,I hope you like it"

"Are you kidding me,like? I don't like it,I love it,but not as much as I love you" he replied picking me up in his arms and twirling me around while I squealed

"I love you too,now let's go and get this party started,but first,you need to change, let's go to our room I've already picked up an outfit for you" I said running up the stairs dragging him along with me but then he suddenly stopped pulling me to him

"You're wearing heels" he stated like it's the most obvious thing ever

"Yes,I am"

"Why?"

"Because I can"

"No, you can't, your feet are not fully recovered" he stated before carrying in his arms upstairs

"No Amor,I can,just put me down" I while pouting

He pecked my lips "no,you're not gonna wear that,and that's final" and just like that,he left no room for arguments.

30 min later,everyone was enjoying the party.The elders are at the backyard,the children are at the playground ,while were still in the garden. Ruky kept avoiding Kamal. You should've seen her face when she saw him,it was hilarious.

I was standing with Ruky,Hanifa and Maryam while Ayaan was with the guys when the front door bell rang "I'll get it" Zahra said smiling before walking away,and if I have to say something, I'm pretty sure there's something behind that smile of hers.

And just like I said. In walked the devil's sister with Zahra,with a bright smile on her face wearing a blue kimono with a white veil wrapped closely around her head,showing off her silky black hair,but it's not even half compared to my hair in beauty.

She hugged Ayaan "Happy Birthday Ayaan" she said while he pushed her away ''Thank you Rumaisa, what are you doing here?"he asked faking smile

"What else,I'm here for your birthday" she replied smiling sweetly "and look,I even brought you a chocolate cake, I know how much you love it" she added pointing at the cake Zahra's holding

"Thank you so very much,I'd love to take this,lemme help you with that in-law" Saffy cut in smiling too sweetly at Ruma taking the cake from Zahra

"That wasn't for you" Ruma glared at Saffy

"Oh but in this family,whatever belongs to one is ours all, I guess you just proved more that you're not a Qureish family member material" Saffy shook her head pitifully raising a brow challenging Ruma to say a word more "oh and thanks again for the cake" she added before picking up her phone and calling away putting it on speaker

"Hello,Malam Talba" she said referring to the gateman

"No,Hajiya its Jacob, wetin you dey need madam?" The security guard asked

"Yawwa,Jacob,can you come into the house please,I have something for you" she smiling mischievously and a minute later Jacob is here. She smiled at Ruma before handing the cake over to Jacob

"All this for you" she said smiling while Jacob grinned

"Thank you Madam,may God bless you abundantly, today me and Talba will enjoy life" he said tasting the cake "Thank you madam" he walked away.

Ruma shot daggers at Saffy "What the hell,why would you do that" she screamed while I and the girls bursted into laughter

"You said you made it for him,because it's his favorite. But his wife already made that for him,and it's way better than that cheap cake of yours,and so his fave will always be the one made by his wife,Ummulkhairi" saffy said stressing the word 'wife'

Zahra hissed before dragging Ruma who looks like she's about to explode out of the garden.
We all laughed hard,Saffy is very funny wallahi

"Saf,that was funny,and so embarrassing" nabeelah said laughing

"Yeah,so hilarious" Rakiya added

"God,she was so embarrassed" Lisa stated laughing too

"And seriously Saf,you're totally funny,wallahi baki da mutunci" Jamila said in between her laughter

"If I had known about you,I would've invited you earlier to deal with her Ai" Ruky said to Saffy

"No one messes with one Qureish family member and gets away with it on my watch" saffy said with a straight face before smiling

"That's my wife" Adam stated proudly

Ruma left after what happened in the garden,and Zahra hadn't came out since.
Ruky left earlier too,and so as Salman and Kamal. She's still avoiding Kamal tho and he finds it amusing. After dinner,everyone was giving Ayaan his birthday gift when I came upstairs to prepare my gift for him.

I was standing in front of the mirror giving my self a once over. My red robe stopped just by my knees,my hair falling on my back till my waist,the lights were dim,and the only source of light was the candles I lit up around the room giving it a romantic atmosphere.

And just then, Ayaan walked in but stopped in his tracks when he saw me.

"Happy birthday Amor" I whispered
