My baby, my pride and joy next to...honestly all of my characters, but that aside I want y'all to meet Helga!

Allow me to get into it right away so y'all don't have to listen to my babbling about my love for her lfmfkfkfk

Name: Helga

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Appearance: She's rather short and is plus sized. Definitely has a orange body type if that makes sense.

Her hair is brown, short, and curly. Her eyes are a teal-ish blue and wears big  round glasses. Her clothing is hand-sewn by her own hands and are in a flashy sort of style. One look and you would think she's some sort of celebrity. I can't describe clothes for the life of me though so here have some picrews.

The top one is definitely a more accurate description of her clothing though so take that as you will.

Personality: She's incredibly shy and can be cowardly due to trauma, but she has a low tolerance for stupidity. If someone is being unreasonable or idiotic she will yell at them (sometimes even in German). If she gets adjusted to a group of people she'd more relaxed, and will ask them for advice when writing music.

Backstory: For context, she's from Mondstat. They were once ruled by noble families who were obviously corrupt, then there was a revolution to fight for their freedom, and then once they were freed the noble families were outcasted. However, the nobles still enforced their rules and beliefs onto their children, which passed on from generation to generation.

Helga was from one of those noble families, and was fortunate because her family built their wealth on grain and crops. They'd travel outside of Mondstat to trade their products, but still couldn't afford to properly shelter Helga and her siblings.

Helga was constantly berated and verbally abused, on occasion physically abused as well for failing to "show proper manners." (i.e; their unreasonable noble manners and beliefs). On top of that she was naturally chubby, and was constantly mocked for it. She'd get smaller portions of food then her brothers because of her weight, but her weight never decreased. Sometimes she'd only get to eat a single carrot a day.

Life in Monstat wasn't too good either. Almost everyone ostracized her except for the kids, but most were taught to avoid her (not that all of them listened ofc). Her family would also try and get in between her and her friends, but Helga was smart enough to figure out how to sneak out.

There was a girl who she was especially close to, and they'd constantly play together. Little did Helga know, this was her ✨gay awakening✨ and she was forming a sort of crush on her friend, not that that's super relevant but it explains why they were so close ifkfkdkd

Anyways years pass (obviously) and Helga has grown into a teenager. She still has her found family of friends but the girl she liked had fallen ill. They tried their best to support the girl, but alas, she still ended up passing away.

Helga tried to go to the funeral to say goodbye, but the girl's family forced her out. They refused to let her in. No one trusted her because of her family, and while her friends fought to let her in she couldn't go inside.

For a while, Helga lost all hope. She didn't react or fight back when her parents harassed her, and just complied to their requests. This lead to her traveling to Liyue with them to trade their products, and while there she met her.

Xinyan.

Xinyan's songs were all about fighting against prejudice, being who you are, and it was awe inspiring. Helga wasn't able to get her out of her head, and realized she could fight back her parents and the people of Mondstat. She could be more then just a Engel. She could be anything, she was free.

And then her vision appeared. It was an anemo vision, which represents freedom and the loss of a loved one.

With that, Helga began to plan. She decided she'd become a traveling bard, try to become famous so she could meet with Xinyan. She'd learn to play instruments, fight with her new vision, and leave her family behind.

And so that's what she did, she ran away from Mondstat. But not before leaving a flower by her dead friend's grave and properly saying goodbye.

•Helga found a red weasel choking on some trash that was left behind. She ended up saving them and gave it some food, and then it grew attached to her and started following her. She kept it as a pet and named it Soup.
