Chapter 5 Lost
They have been walking for at least two hours but they were nowhere near the house and it is almost pitch black, Claragh looks over her shoulder and says to Jane "Ummm...Jane...I think we are lost". Jane replies "nonsense it's just up ahead" but she soon quickly realises
that Claragh is right... they are lost and have nowhere to go.
They decide to set up camp under a large fig tree, they both sit down and huddled up to each other because of the cold air that is creeping in through the leaves. It touches their cheeks and arms gently but it makes they shiver and cuddle up to each other. The moon shines brightly and the stars are twinkling, but Claragh and Jane are not sleeping because they are too worried about their parents and grandmothers finding out they have disappeared.

The sun is just starting to rise over the horizon and Claragh is already up admiring the red light. She put her hand up to her face to block out the brightness, Jane groaned, rubbing her eyes, gets up and joins Claragh on the hill. "So what are we going to do?" Jane asks as she brushes her hair down and picks the leaves off her clothes. "I'm not sure... but I think we should keep going forward because my house has the sun behind it when it rises so if we keep going we should find it". Jane gives her a look of disbelief and sighs. They both start to walk slowly towards the sunrise. I just have to let everyone down don't I. I'm useless. I can't even find my way home from a lake I got to do often. I let everyone down. I let my best friend down. I let Jane down... A silent tear fell down Claragh's cheek but she quickly wiped it away, hoping to god that Jane didn't see. Claragh looks over at Jane to see her head hung low and her eyes filled with nothing but fear and regret. Jane looks up scrunching her nose and squinting as she looks towards the sun. Claragh looks down and doesn't make eye contact for minutes which felt like hours. Hours felt like days and still no sign of the house.
