For 3 weeks Damian stayed late at the dance academy learning. He wouldn't let me watch, something about him embarrassing himself. There were one week left until the day of the state competition. That meant only 2 more practices. I was beyond nervous. I couldn't run all the way through my routine without a dance partner and Lalan wouldn't let him practice with me until he was "ready to express his art." The alarm on my bedside table rang for the 6th time this morning and i finally drug myself out of my bed. My phone buzzed against the wood of my bed side table and I lazily hit the screen until it turned off. I pulled my messy curls into a high ponytail and pulled on a pair of black leggings, a loose white t-shirt, and a dark green infinity scarf. Slipping on my pair of worn out oxfords I grabbed my dance bag and walked out of my room, down the hall, and into the kitchen to grab a granola bar and some coffee before I left for dance practice. I poured my coffee into my burgundy tumbler cup and walked out the front door. The walk to the dance studio from my house wasn't that far and the trees lining the sidewalk were tall pines so it was a pretty walk, a rare occurrence in Gotham. I threw open the door of the academy and walked in bouncing on my toes. Damian was sitting in the corner stretching. The boy was incredibly flexible. This surprised everyone at the academy greatly but it makes logical sense to me, of course i'm the only one who knows he's robin, but are non dance guys just that non flexible? I slipped off my oxfords and my scarf and sat beside Damian as he stretched to his left foot touching his forehead to his shin. I quickly went through my stretches and finished with a standing backbend. Damian was watching me with a pleasant facial expression.

"What?" I asked.

"You look so at ease when you're here."

I felt my cheeks burn at his comment and directed my attention to wrapping my feet. I have never been so happy that Lalan had shown up early to start class.

"Our last day of practice is tuesday. The 4 pairs that will be competing at state will be leaving with me wednesday morning for the competition on friday." The class cheered. The 8 of us going to the competition bowed and smiled at eachother.

"I almost forgot. I have some exciting news for today." She paused for effect, "Willow and Damian are going to practice their dance for the first time!" I smiled nervously and Damian paled.

"If everyone would go to the edge of the room." Lalan ordered.

Damian and I walked to the middle of the room and took our positions on the floor as "Say Something" blared from the speakers.

The music faded from the speakers and Damian's eyes shone live diamonds. He let out a nervous laugh and he was blushing. I giggled with absolute joy as the class cheered for us. Ms. Lalan was in shock. Damian didn't miss a beat and neither did I. I was comfortable with Damian and that shows through a lot when you dance. We ran through It twice more and practice for us was over for the day. The shipment for our dance costumes got held up but we had them redirected to the hotel we are staying at for competition. I was nervous. Dad wouldn't be at this competition, he is leaving for a trip tonight in Russia. I hope he's going to visit mom while she's there, I miss her. Alfred picked us up and he offered to give me a ride to get my things because I would be staying the at the manor until we leave for state. I ran in the house grabbed my bag and ran to my dad's study to give him a goodbye hug.

"I'll miss you dad."

"Good luck hun, I'll miss you too."

I let go of my dad and ran out of the house so I wouldn't Keep Damian waiting.
