Four years later...

In the late evening, Summer, Ruby, and Yang were out shopping leaving Sage with Tai, who is watching T.V, while Sage is crafting something for Summer. That is until, "Son, hand me the remote." Sage didn't hear him as he asked, "Uhhh, what daddy?" Then something inside Tai snapped as he then punched his son in the face as Sage falls to the ground then repeated, "YOU HEARD ME YOU LITTLE SHIT! THE REMOTE! GIVE IT TO ME!" Sage did what he said while crying as Tai snatches the remote from his hands, "That's more like it!" He then quickly looks at Sage, who is drenched with his tears and grabs him by the collar of his shirt, "If you ever tell your mother about this, she'll never believe you and you'll get hit harder for lying, do I make myself clear?" He said with venom in his voice which made Sage afraid of him as he quickly nodded in fear, "Y-yes, Daddy." He then releases him as he then said, "Now go to your room." 

Sage then ran to his room crying and the moment he closes the door, he saw a stranger wearing a red leather coat sitting on a chair with only his face unseen, "Who are you mister?" Sage asked innocently, "Me kid?, A friend. I can't tell you my real name just yet so until now, call me Mr. Red, Now." He approached Sage and places him on his bed as he lays him down and covers him with his blanket as he grabs a handkerchief under his coat and wipes off his tears, "How about I tell you a story?" 

Then after few minutes, Summer, Ruby, and Yang returned home with the groceries in their hands, "We're home." Tai then gets off the couch as he then helps them with the groceries, "Hey Sum, here let me help you with that." He then took some of the bags and places them on the counter, "Where's Sage?" Ruby asked while searching for her little brother, but not knowing what Tai did to him, "Oh Sage? I think he's in his room sleeping, tired." Taiyang lied to make sure he wasn't caught, "Oh, well, I might as well give him a goodnight kiss." She said as she went to Sage's room.

Minutes earlier...

"Then, Son Goku destroys kid buu, thus winning the impossible battle as the entire universe was now saved from the incarnation of pure evil, as him and his friends now lived in peace on earth, The end." Red finishes his story as he then saw Sage sleeping peacefully and the shadow covering his face, shows his mouth smiling as he then lightly rubs his forehead making Sage smile unconsciously, Red then stood up and place the seatback to where it belongs, he then places a small and a large box on the desk but he hides the large one under the desk, then he heard footstep getting closer outside his room and before leaving, he left a piece of paper under the small box as he then teleported away. 

The moment he teleported away, Summer came in seeing her little blue rose sleeping peacefully on his bed which made her smile then she walk towards the bed as she sat on the bed giving Sage a kiss on the forehead making Sage smile again unconsciously, "Good night my little blue rose." She then walks out of the room leaving Sage sleeping on his bed having a good dream about the story Red told him.

Next morning...

The sun rose up outside of Sage's window, the sun rays shone on his face as he woke up from it as he stretches his arms and rubs his eyes and when he looks around the room, he notices a small blue box with a rose as a lock on his desk, he walked towards his desk and grabs the box, "Who gave this to me? Was it mom?" He asked himself as he examines the box then he notices a piece of paper on the desk as gently places down the small box picks up the note as he reads it mentally.

Dear Kid, 

It's me, Mr. Red, the one you met last night and the one who told you the story about Goku battling kid buu and won, I left you two gifts as you can see, you can open the small box but open the large one, year later, and it's under the table if you want to search for it. And I'll visit you sometimes okay? And don't worry, I'm not a bad guy, all I want is for you to be happy, till we meet again kid.

Mr. Red

Sage smiles as he then opens the box to see a blue rose necklace.

He awed at the necklace as he then taught, 'This must be very expensive. Thank you Mr. Red' 

1 Year later

Taiyang continued being abusive towards his son when the girls and Qrow weren't around causing Sage to be afraid of him and not wanting to be left alone with him but unfortunately, sometimes he didn't have a choice. When Summer was taking Ruby and Yang to Qrow for a whole week of training, Sage wanted to go with them but he was too young for training unknowingly that Sage has been training with Red for a while, "Mommy, please I want to train with you!" Sage begged his mother to go with her but, "I'm sorry Sage but you can't start training yet. I'll make it up to you, next year you can come with us to begin your training. For now, you stay home with daddy, ok?" He felt something crawled on his back as he shivered from the feeling and they didn't notice it but nodded and hugged his mother, "We'll be back in a week."

Summer let go of the hug and his sister hugs him next, "See ya later baby brother." Ruby said goodbye, "Hey, cheer up little bro, you can start training with us next year." Yang tried to cheer him up as Sage then remembers something from the mysterious Red weeks ago, "You wanna know why is your mother calling you her little blue rose?, Because, The blue rose represents something impossible to accomplish, something unattainable that will only remain a dream that can never be realized. Always remember that kid." 

"O-Ok, I-I'll wait for you guys to come back." Sage weakly smiles at them as the girls left, without wasting any time, he ran back to his room before Tai could even touch him though Sage saw a devilish grin on Tai's face which made him shiver in fear and made him go to his room faster and when he got to his room, Red, who is currently wearing a mask, was there sitting on his bed waiting for Sage, "So kid, ready for another training?"

"You bet!" Sage said with enthusiasm as Red silently laughs behind the mask as he stood up and pulls out a katana as he then unsheathes it from its scabbard and slices the air as a portal opened up, "Come on then." As he then walked inside of the portal with Sage following him.

The night before the girls came home...

Sage came back after his training with Red he has learned few things from Red's training like Trickster style, Royal Guard style, Hand-to-hand mastery, Ki attacks, and he has unlocked his semblance. Taiyang doesn't know about Sage's secret training, however, Sage is still afraid of Taiyang as his 'father' was doing the dishes, "Sage, put these plates away!"

"Y-y-y-yes daddy." Tai then handed him a stack of plates but he lost his grip and dropped them, glass spilled all over the floor making Tai furious, "YOU LITTLE SHIT!!" He then punches Sage's everywhere, "*Sobbing* Daddy! Please stop!" Sage begged.

"FINE!" He shouted at him as he grabs a plate and throws it at Sage causing the plate to shatter on his face and fell down to the floor, crying. Tai then grabs him by the shirt and threw him to his room. Sage then continued crying on the floor, "Daddy, why? What did I do to you?" He asked himself.

He then went to his desk as he opens a drawer and grabs a small brown pouch and pulls out a small green bean, he then puts the bean in his mouth as he eats it and swallows it, then all of his wounds have vanished, however, the wounds on his mind cannot be healed from all of the pain that his father put him threw, "Why, daddy? Why?" He then walks towards the window and stares at the outside then a thought came to his mind, "Mommy, Ruby, Yang... I'm so sorry." 

Before he decided to leave, he opened his large gift under his desk and was surprised and amazed at what Red gave him.

"Mr. Red, Thank you so much." He then grabs his gifted weapons as he then went to his closet and gets the Blue cloak that Summer gave him and before he leaves, he opens a drawer from the left and pulls out a blue necklace, his hand-made blue cloak, a drawing, and a note, placing it down to the table, "I have to leave this place no matter what, so bye Mom, I hope you accept my gifts." He then opens the window and jumps out of the window and ran to where the wind takes him as he uses his semblance.

He then stops at the top of the hill to look at his home for the last time, "Please, take care without me, everyone." He said to himself while crying hard as he activates his semblance again to where the wind takes him.

The next morning...

After the girls' training, Summer, Ruby, and Yang are back home, "Tai, Sage! We're back!" Summer shouted as Tai walked downstairs and hugs them, "Welcome back Sum!"

"Can Sage come down and play with us?" Ruby asked as Tai smiles at his daughter as he then said, "I believe he is sleeping or doing something else but sure go get him." Ruby and Yang ran upstairs to get Sage while Summer and Tai sat down on the couch, "So, how was the training?" Tai asked as he started a conversation, "Oh, it was great, Ruby and Yang almost beat Qrow by working together." Tai chuckles at his daughters' achievement, "That's my girls, maybe next year they will be able to defeat Qrow."

Summer giggles as she then asked, "How's Sage?"

"He really missed you, so did I." He said as the two then shared a kiss, "Well next year we can start training him." Just then, Ruby and Yang came running downstairs with a worried look, "MOM! DAD! SAGE ISN'T IN HIS ROOM!" Summer and Tai, instantly stood up from the shocking news, "What!?" Tai and Summer shouted in unison, "BABYBROTHERISGONE!" Ruby shouted as they then ran to his room to see an empty room with an open window as the curtains swayed from the outside, Summer then ran towards the window and scope out for Sage but to no avail as her entire world collapsed and fell down to her knees while crying uncontrollably, "My, my baby, my baby blue rose." Ruby and Yang hugged their mother while crying as Tai watched and finally realized what he had done, 'Tai, what have you done?' 

He then ran out of the house to search for his son as the three followed suit, 'Taiyang, you stupid, idiotic man.' They keep searching and searching but to no avail as they gave up on searching for him.

Few minutes later...

Summer was in Sage's room, sitting on her son's bed as she rolled up to her knees, crying that she will never see her son again, then something shined on her face for a brief moment and when she lifted her head, she saw a few items on Sage's desk. Curious about what it is, she walked towards the table to see a blue rose necklace

A blue cloak, a drawing of Sage and his family that is completely smooth, and a note, she grabs a note and reads it, 

"Hi, mom, If your reading this then, you already know that I'm gone and you wanted to know why I left, you will know soon but don't let my absence get the best of you, that's why I left you these gifts as you saw on the table, to remind you that I will always be with you. No matter how far away we are, we are always close in our hearts. And mom, always remembers, I love you so much and I got a feeling that we will see each other again, I don't know when, don't know how but It'll happen, but until then, this is goodbye until we meet again. - Your loving blue rose, Sage Rose" Summer was on the verge of crying as she read the note but she smiles out of both sadness and happiness at Sage's gift as she grabs the blue cloak and hugs it tightly, "My Blue rose, 'Till we meet again." 

Meanwhile with Sage...

Sage was fighting a bunch of Grimms along the way, slashing and shooting through, using 'Blue Rose' that Red gave him, and cleared all of the Grimm effortlessly, then another one came in behind him and before he could even react, the Grimm was killed right before him and when he searched who saved him, It was his mentor, Red, "Mr. Red!" He then ran towards his kind mentor and gave him a hug as Red chuckles at him.

"Please kid, no need to call me that anymore." Red said as Sage looks up at him and asked, "What should I call you then?"

"When we first met, I told you that you cannot know my name yet, so here is my name." Sage then climbed down of Red as he then said, "My name is Shadin, Sage, Shadin Pure."

Sage smiles as he now knows what his real name is, "Say, how about you and I walk to my house huh? You seem to have nowhere to go at the moment." Sage then looks down for a moment before replying with a, "Sure, let's go Mr. Shadin..."

"Please kid, call me father or dad now." Sage is shocked at his request as he then quickly said, "Wannarunthatbymeagain?!" Shadin just laughs at his reaction as he walks away from Sage as the blue rose followed suit then said, "You're just like your sister, now c'mon, your additional sisters are waiting for you." Sage was starting to feel happiness again, not only from Shadin, but from the fact that's he was the kind and humble Red that he knew for over a year, and now Sage can now call him father, which made him cry.

Shadin heard the sobbing as he stops himself and kneels at Sage's level, "What's wrong?" His voice is full of concern and worries, "I-It's nothing, it's just that." Sage then hugs him tightly and Shadin hugs him back, "I have a new father who actually cares for me and loves me." Shadin smiles at his statement as he then said, "Well, I promise that I will be a better father than Tai and I swear on my oath, I will never break my promise." 

"Thank you." Sage said as he breaks the hug and wipes off his tear and Shadin stood up while lifting Sage up and carries him on his shoulder, "Well, now that the dramatic session is out of the way, let's go!" He then shot himself to the sky and flew across the sky while Sage is screaming, "YAHOO!!!!"

Minutes later...

Shadin and Sage landed on the ground in front of a mansion with a lake beside it.

"Woah, that's a big house!" Sage said with an awe expression on his face, "Yep, this is where I and my daughters' live." Then a realization came into Sage's head as he tugged Shadin's coat, "Who are your daughters' father?"

"FATHER!!" Two voices that Sage will always recognize it, "Ohhhh, incoming." Shadin said as he let go of Sage and slightly kneels down and spreads his signaling for a hug then Sage's eyes widen to see his sisters.

Shadin then lifted them up on each both of his shoulders, "Hey, what's up you two?" He said as they hugged him making Shadin laugh at the development, Sage just watches as memories of him and his sisters' good times just made him tear up, Shadin then places his daughters down and faces Sage, "Kid, meet your sisters, Ruby Pure and Yang Pure, girls, this is your little brother, Sage."

'They even have the same names?!' Sage thought with a shocked look on his face.

"Hi baby brother, I'm your sister, Ruby." Ruby(Pure) said as she grabs both of Sage's hands, "H-Hi s-sister." Then Yang(Pure) came in grabbing the other hand of Sage, "And I'm Yang, your big sister." Sage's face is still in tears but has a smile on his face, "H-Hello b-big s-sister." 

Shadin smiles at this as he then asked, "Yang, where is your uncle Sonic? I need to speak with him, it's kinda important." 

"Well, Uncle Sonic is-" 

*BOOM* 

Yang(Pure) was interrupted by an explosion that happened in the distance, not far from the house, surprising the four, "With uncle Shadow." Shadin facepalms and deep sighs as he then asked, "Those two are fighting again aren't they?"

"Yep." Ruby(Pure) said, "You two hang out with your little brother, I have to stop them from taking their fight to another level." He then flew towards the fight, "So, Sage, let's play!" Ruby said as she took Sage's hands and dashes towards the house while dragging a surprised Sage while Yang just shakes her head from her sister's excitement before dashing towards the house.

With Sonic and Shadow(The mobians are human by the way)...

Sonic and Shadow are exchanging punches and kicks, then the two lock each other's fists as the two had a staredown before separating from each other, "Hehe, not bad, not bad at all Shadow! You've gotten stronger ever since our last spar/fight." Sonic said as Shadow crosses his arms and chuckles at his statement, "Of course, I didn't call myself 'The Ultimate Life Form' for nothing. Now, where were we?" He then charges up a Chaos Spear as Sonic charges a Sonic wind but before they can even fire, an energy sword appeared out of nowhere, confused and when they turned their heads to the source, It was Shadin stopping them from fighting, "Alright you two, take a break before you two accidentally start a forest fire."

The two canceled their attack and took a deep breath before calming down, "Though I was watching your sparring match and I notice that you two are getting stronger." Sonic does his usual chuckle as he then said, "Well thanks, buddy, If it weren't for you, my friends and I still be on our past strength." Shadow closes his eyes and smirks, "I have to agree with Sonic, you made me stronger than I was before and make me realize that there is more than just having more power." Shadin smiles at them then quickly frown and Sonic notices it, "Hey, Shadin something wrong?" Shadin sighed, "As a matter a fact, there is."

"Well, whatever it is, you can tell us. Me and Shadow can support you." Sonic said and as much as Shadow hates it, he said, "As much as I disagree, I have to pay you back for helping me to get stronger." Shadin nodded as he then said, "Why don't we talk about this at the house? I can tell you why I was frowning." When they got to the house and sat on a couch in the living room, "So, what is it you want to tell us?" Shadow asked, "Well..."

30 minutes later...

"And that's why I adopted Sage because of his abusive father and what's worse is that he manipulated the kid so that his mother and biological sisters wouldn't know about it." Shadin finishes his story about Sage and it made Sonic and Shadow extremely angry, mostly Shadow, "What the actual Mobius!?! THAT IS THE MOST MESSED UP CHILDHOOD I'VE EVER HEARD!!" Sonic shouted as Shadow growls as he stood up and lets out his aura in anger, "IN ALL MY LIFE, I'VE SEEN PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM LOSING THEIR LOVED ONES! BUT THIS?! NO CHILD SHOULD EXPERIENCE THAT KIND OF PAIN AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE!!!" Shadin expected this kind of reaction from the both of them and he sighs then said, "I know you two are angry about Taiyang, but let's not destroy his ass for now. What matters is that we need to heal the scars on his mind, we can't let the kid be what he is today, and I can suspect that the kid will have night terrors because of what happened to him. Sonic, Shadow, my request for you two is that, please be his uncle and guardians, even though I trained him I still worry for his safety, think you two can do that?" Sonic and Shadow took a deep breath and calms down before thinking, Shadin waited for their response and they said, "Sure, we'll be his guardians and be his best uncles he can ever have." Shadow calmly said as Sonic nodded in agreement, Shadin smiles as he then said, "Thank you guys, I owe you one."

"Hey, dad." Sage's voice came in as he walks in with his pajamas, yawning before noticing Sonic and Shadow, "Dad, who are these two?" Shadin smiles and before he could speak, Sonic beats him to it, "Hey there Sage, I'm Sonic, Sonic Takamaki." Sonic introduced himself to Sage, "And I am Shadow, Shadow Yaminagi. This idiot and I are your uncles." Shadow then heard Sonic saying, "Hey!" But he ignored his cry as Sage smiled at his new family as he hugs Shadow, he was surprised at first but he hugs the kid back earning shock expressions on both Shadin and Sonic but Shadin smiles at this as he then stood up and shuffles Sage's hair then said, "Welcome home, Sage Rose Pure
