Blood Bind

It was a cold night at Hogwarts. A boy in an invisibility cloak was walking to a secret place. His hair was messy, his glasses round and ugly, the cheapest pair that was at the establishment that his aunt took him. His eyes were like emeralds behind their glassy structure. They weren't happy, anyone who knew how to read eyes could see it. They seemed sober almost, unhappy. He wore a blue stripe pair of PJ's and was careful where he went. He did not want to knock into Snape or any other adult. Especially Mrs. Norris, the groundskeeper's cat.

He took out his wand; a holly wood, phoenix feather, 11", nice and supple. He cast a spell. The wall opened up and he walked inside. It was room with a few candles, runes on the floor, and a window from up high with bars with spikes covering it. In the middle was a girl. She was reading a scroll. She looked up, her sapphire blue eyes shimmering with elegance and kindness. Her hair was down, her brown, almost black, locks cascading down her shoulders. Her lips were ruby red, unlike Harry's rosy pink. Her face was gentle yet it held a certain air that made you shiver. Her skin was very pale, flawless, and smooth. She was in a Avada Kadavra green soft to the touch night gown. Over it was a grey robe that was warm and soft like a cat's fur.

"Harry, good timing, we're almost ready." She spoke, her words sounding smooth as yogurt. He looked at her serenely and saw she had a sapphire and an emerald as the stones. "Why those stones, if I may ask?" His voice wasn't as smooth, but deeper. "Emeralds are thought to preserve love, are a symbol of hope, the stone of prophecy, and are believed to relieve a troubled mind. Sapphire is the stone of wisdom and also of prophecy. It is also the gem of Divine Favor." She explained to him. The two gem were in the middle, sharp and ready for their purpose.

"Are you ready, Harry?" She said, finally done rereading the scroll. "Yes, Merope." She looked at him and said "Alright, you must take the Emerald and I, the Sapphire." Harry and Merope bend downwards and collected their gem. Harry knew his lines for the ritual by heart now, as did she. They held the Gems out, then held hands, the gem touching. They spoke the chant in perfect sync.

"Pueris nobis huius vinculi gemmas Hecatam non procul abest iungere amore fraterno amore propinquum sanguinis ut darent robur clamo."

They chanted until the runes glowed blue. The glowed, burning them a little. Merope released Harry's hand and brought the gem to her wrist. It glowed blue and burned. Without screaming, Merope said her chant.

"Hacate omnipotentem dominae mihi magicae vires ferre manum ad crudele fatum mihi aperiri delicias lapis sapphirus sanguinem petamus domum parentesque."

Merope felt heat flush to her cheeks when a new feeling bloomed. The cut healed, the burning turned into a cool watery feeling. She felt free from some restraint. Her spirit was reaching out to another. The runes turned green and the burning feeling came from the Emerald gem. Harry cut his wrist, a freezing cold sensation filled him. He began his chant.

"Hacate omnipotentem dominae mihi magicae vires ferre manu tribue benignus crudelia fata accipere virtutem et, Smaragdus lapis spes sanationis aperiri lacrimis sanguine."

He felt a warmth enter him. It was secure and friendly. He too felt his spirit reaching out to something. The cut healed instantly and then the two felt something. With a single snap, the two were eternally bonded. The ritual was complete.

No one could break the bond between one Harry James Potter and one Merope Vladia Patrica Riddle.
