Chapter 7: Out of Sight, Out of Mind

(Wander's POV)

Racing through the streets, I desperately look for Snowy. It seemed like a miracle when I saw Snowy on a billboard-slash-screen.

"Snowy!!"
I exclaimed. I ran to the center of the Square, only to see the pink tip of Snowy's tail to disappear in the crowd. I hear everybody say things about Snowy like "Ugh, it's a she?!", "That is the most grotesque Felina I've ever see!", and "What did we do to genetics?!" My blood boiled. I stood up on top of the fountain.

"THAT IS ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!"
I announced. Everybody looked at me.

"What happened to the phrase 'don't judge a book by its cover'?! Cause ah heard a lotta judging!!"
I crossed my arms.

"We weren't!! We just hated how that Felina looked!!"
A male retorted. The crowd shouted in agreement.

"Ah've had it up to here with y'all prejudging people all the time!! Mah friend that y'all are hatin' on is a great gal!! And none of you bothered to look past her appearance whatsoever!! This universe is just-- just-- so cruel!! Not all gals have to be beautiful or rich just to be your friend!! Lately, ah've noticed that gals don't feel good if they don't look like models in a magazine!! So they starve theirselves or they wear clothes that they don't like cause it's either uncomfortable or too revealing!! And all this just to please people!! Ah mean, come on!! It's just plain out sad to watch!! Y'all should be ashamed for how big of an impact your insults have on people!!"
I yelled. Everyone's responses were different. All the gals and most of the guys in the crowd agreed. The rest of the guys disagreed.

"Please!! Women should just stay in the kitchen!!"
A man sneered.

"Excuse me?!?!?!?! THAT'S A LOAD OF FROOD!!!!!!!"
Sylvia retaliated. The girls and the guys that agreed with me turned to the ones that disagreed. They started a great chase to clobber them. Sylvia would've probably gone after them if she didn't want to find Snowy. That reminds me. A blonde was about to follow them but I stopped her.

"That gal on the billboards. Did ya happen to see which way she went?"
I asked with pleading eyes.

"Yeah, that way. You really care about her, don't you?"
The blonde smiled. I nod. The blonde patted my shoulder.

"She's lucky to have a guy like you."
The blonde went off towards a café instead of the crowd. I hoisted myself onto Sylvia's back and headed in the direction Snowy went in. She was running really fast, so something told me that Sylvia wants to find Snowy as bad as I do. I notice something stuck to a tree. As Sylvia runs by it, I grab it. It's a clump of peach-colored fur. From Snowy's tail.

"Keep going, Syl!! She's been this way!!"
I show the Zbornak the fur I found. She smirks. I grab the brim of my hat as Sylvia picks up the pace. It didn't take long to find Snowy's tracks. Why would Snowy hide in the woods? Does she have some sort of childhood connection to it? I'll ask her when we find her. These woods are a bit mediocre. I don't see why Snowy would hide here. Maybe to disguise herself as a haunted house host?

"Any ideas where Snow might be?"
Sylvia asked. I shake my head no.

"We do."
A familiar voice says. I turn around and see Will-O-Wisp and Eugenia.

"What're you two doin' out here?!"
I questioned.

"You thought we were just gonna let you look for Snowy on your own? Like I said before, she's our favorite tomboy!"
Will-O-Wisp said.

"And we intend to find her. Plus, we know a way to get her out. The one name she hates that we like to call Snowy just to annoy her is......"
Eugenia smirked.

"Belly-Belle!"
They both laughed. I chuckled and Sylvia chortled.

"Let's focus on the task at hand, girls."
I stated.

"You're right. We gotta be serious. Snowy, we're coming!!"
Will-O-Wisp shrieked and ran into the woods. No, not as in the movie. I followed her on Sylvia with Eugenia alongside us. I can't wait to find Snowy. She's one of the greatest friend I could ever have. So, in the words of Will-O-Wisp, we're coming, Snowy!!!
