Chapter 5: Wandering Eyes
(Wander's POV)
Silver Lining and Ivory take me inside the school. I really wanted to see but for some reason these two gals won't let me. I can still hear what's going on. Snowbelle was growling, but it didn't last long.
"Everybody, are you ready to see what I've dreamed of showing you all?"
Ebony called out. The crowd started shouting. I could hear a faint chuckle. I look at Silver Lining.
"Go ahead. Take a peek....."
She smirked. I ever so hesitantly peek through the window in the door. Snowy was standing on a stage, a nervous aura emitting from her. She slowly moved her fringe to the side. The crowds gasped. So did I. Over her eye was a purple birthmark in the shape of a crescent moon, the points facing inward, three stars surrounding it. But, there was a scar in the shape of three claw marks slashed diagonally over the moon, the bottom slanting inward with the top slanting outward. After a bit, the silence was broken.
"What a freak!!"
A random female yelled. The entire crowd started laughing with mockery. Snowy's tail went in between her legs, her ears lowered. Unaware that I was watching, she looked over towards me. Snowy's eyes widened. Her expression transferred from shocked to furious. Snowy's gaze whipped around to face Ebony.
"You!! You promised that Wander wouldn't see!!!"
Snowy snarled. Ebony cackled.
"How did you not see that coming?"
She smiled evilly. Ebony tackled Snowy and held her down with her paws.
"Look at her!! How could you be friends with a freak like this?!"
Ebony tossed Snowy off the stage with a THUMP!! I pushed the door open and ran over to her. Sylvia then skidded to a stop next to me. Snowy hung her head to where her face was shaded so I couldn't tell what her emotions were. By the look on Sylvia's face, she looked like she was about to hit something.
"Ebony better wish she has nine lives..."
Sylvia growled. She started to head towards Ebony's direction, when Snowy stopped her.
"Don't... Don't bother, Sylvia..."
Snowy mumbled. I raised an eyebrow. Sylvia was confused, too.
"What? Why not?"
Sylvia asked.
"Because... S-She's right..."
Snowy sighed. Her voice sounded like it was cracking. I started to grow more worried. Snowy turned to face us. I gasped. Tears were streaming down her face.
"I really am a freak..."
She whispered. Snowy closed her eyes tight and ran off. For some reason, my face felt hot. Is this what anger feels like?
