A splash of Ink
AN: I'm not dead- just been busy.
I had teleported to an odd area. It was a big stretch of concrete, but was plagued by perfect holes. There were humans around, mainly the smaller ones. For some reason the boys had their shirts off and the girls had on odd suits. They were all laughing, looking at some holes farther away. I looked down into a hole closest to me.
Nothing there. Wonder why all these kids are here. But I need to find Eg-
Ahhhhh!
I was sent into the air by a stream of water. Instantly soaked, I was airborn for a split second. But only for a second.
I landed on the concrete, hard.
Urg. Think I broke something.
I laid on the ground, flashback beginning.
———————————————————————-
Egdy, Error, and Sans had just gotten across the gap. I held the back end, and was on the lookout.
"Where are they?"
"I dunno boss."
"There they go!"
I had just stepped on a heavy stack of crates that were leaning. One small push would be enough to knock it down. The others had reached the wall by the window. Boss and Pap were helping the others get up to the sill. Jeff had spotted us, and was coming straight for the group. Ready to protect, I got ready to push the crates.
But something didn't feel right about pushing them over. Jeff was always the one that gave us an extra ration, and he did try to keep us from getting punished. If the crates went over, they would surely kill. I've seen it happen before a few weeks ago.
But if I don't, then we will never get out of the warehouse. If I do, our only friendly owner will be dead. Even if we did get outside, they would surely find us again.
I backed away from the edge. I had just ruined our only chance of getting out of here.
They will never forgive me.
Jeff had already got the others into the cage, I was the last one. I stayed still as he reached up and grabbed me.
"You could've killed me, but you didn't. So I must be doing something right. Thanks."
I was set back into the cage with the group, and we were returned to our spot on the shelves. The Bitties in the cages around us all looked sad and disappointed. Our capture only ensured that escape was impossible. The worst looks were from my group. I could tell that they wanted to scream, shout, and argue at me. Even Papyrus, the most caring, was furious.
I let everyone down.
I was jolted from the memory when an unwatchful kid kicked me. A rib dislocated.
I stayed on the concrete, dwelling on the all the extra months spent in the warehouse.
I don't know how long I was laying there, drying only to get soaked again, when I was gently picked up.
"Hey, are you alright Ink? You look like, . you've relived an, unpleasant memory. And somehow your arm broke and a piece of rib cage is poking me where it shouldn't."
". . i don't want to let everyone down again."
"? What do you mean by that?"
I told her the memory I had, and her face began to form into thought near the end, before turning into a smile.
"Well, it's not all bad. If you didn't spare this 'Jeff', then we wouldn't have met, right?"
"I guess not."
"Alright. But before we continue this, you need a quick fix. "
Jana carried me to a bench, before explaining what was happening.
"I'm going to relocate your rib, alright? It's going to hurt, so I don't mind if you mar my finger."
She lifted my shirt to where the odd rib was, and gently she grabbed it.
*POP*
"And just like that, it's done. Dislocated limbs must not hurt for you guys. I know I dislocated my shoulder, and it hurt like heck when it went back in."
She laughed, and I joined in. Jana stopped when she noticed my arm.
"Let me get something quick for that."
She pulled out some goop, and smeared it across the crack.
"There. Let that sit, and it'll be good as new!"
I smiled, and climbed onto her shoulder, as we began to walk.
I finally have a human that cares for me, and isn't disappointed about me. Things are finally going right.
