A day inside (Part 1)
I loaded up all the zonked Bitties, and drove home.
Arriving, I closed the garage door and fed the puppies. Afterward, I carried the Bitties inside. Blue somewhat stirred before falling back asleep. Error kept mumbling, and Cross nearly hit my finger as he waved his hands through the air. Tired from the events that had happened, I was able to get them cleaned and changed into pjs without them waking up.
Note to self however- never drench Error unless you want to get shocked. And Overalls- I had to do him in the sink since he had so much dirt on him; it was kinda like washing a potato. A tiny, fragile potato that had so many hard spots. Red-eye's and Scary's skulls kept catching on the towel I dried them with, mainly Red-eye.
I really need to think of names for them, because I am NOT going to be yelling 'Red-eye' and 'Scary'.
I set the Bitties on my bed as I pulled out their own. Luckily they already came with mattresses and sheets made. Pulling out fifteen, I set two in each room.
Good thing I got this giant house. I'm sure they'll only use it for night and personal storage- hopefully.
Crap, I'm short three. Umm, what's something I never use?
Oh!
I rushed up to the attic and began digging. I was never much of a toy car collector, but my dad liked his little models. Finally finding the box, I dug for the ones he didn't like. And ironically he had two models of the style he hated. I pulled out a red and an orange sport cars. They looked the right size, and there's nothing in them. I put them in my pocket.
Now for the third.
I dug to the bottom. For some reason there was a blue spaceship the size of the cars.
And wouldn't you know it? There were several fleece snips that were just the right size to fit the beds. There were a LOT of patterns and colors too. I grabbed all the ones that one of the Skellies would like. Blue and gold bones for Sans, 'cool' red with spaghetti for Pap. Dark red with spears for Boss, so on and so on. I found a perfect one for each Bitty( I'm guessing, not confirming).
Shrugging my shoulders, I took them all down to the basement, putting the mini blankets in the washer on the way down.
I managed to get a big enough hole in each of them to fit a Bitty. It didn't take long, and now all I have to do is wait. I carried them up, and moved the washed blankets to the dryer.
Ok, that's drying and that's cooling, so-
My stomach growled. I realized I hadn't eaten much all day besides breakfast and a cracker.
Body on autopilot, I walked to the fridge and grabbed some pineapple spears. I began eating the sweet fruit.
"J-Jana? *yawn* why aren't you in bed?"
I looked down and saw Carrot on the floor, sleep plaguing his eye sockets. He rubbed one of them trying to clear it.
"Well Carrot, I was getting ready for bed and I just needed a snack. I also found some blankets for each of you. They're in the dryer."
"*yawn* ok."
I picked him up with my non-sticky hand, and carried him back to my room.
"how long do you plan to keep us? I *yawn* know we've kept you busy."
"Till the day I die, and you don't have to worry to much about me. Today was one of those days, and I'm sure tomorrow will go better."
"*yawn* ok. Good night, Jana."
He fell asleep as I slid him back onto the bed.
"Good night Carrot."
I had finished off half of the pineapple spears, and was now getting the new beds made. I had found some foam pieces to replace the mattresses for the self made beds.
Alright, something is going the way I want it to. 👍
I placed the last three beds in the mini house, and began to tuck each skelly in. Everybody had a roommate, so I made sure to keep the brothers together. After that, Dream and Wild got a room together. Ink and Error were paired, and that left me with Nightmare, Cross, Geno, and Overalls.
I got them paired, only to realize that Pap, Boss, and Blue got the custom beds. I spotted Egdy getting curled up, and decided to do the same.
Heading to the bathroom with my pjs, I followed my nightly routine. With the day catching up with me, I happily collapsed onto my bed.
Starry Sans POV
I woke up on a soft surface, with something covering me. Getting up, I realized it was a blanket covered in stars.
It was all a dream! But it felt so real.
I looked over and saw my brother.
I jumped out, ready to find my human Charlie. The room looked different though, but I didn't pay that much mind. I ran for the door, expecting to come out onto the shelf. Neop, I got stairs instead.
I tumbled down them, Did he move us?
Landing at the bottom, I walked out of the door down there. The outside room looked a lot different. Instead of the orange, beer stained walls, these were a clean bright yet dark greenish blue, or a dark blueish green. The carpet was tan, and the floor looked tidy; unlike the trash minefield. The bed looked the same with the covers all askew, but heading over to the nightstand, there was nothing besides an alarm clock, a lamp and a picture frame with a necklace on it. No empty bottles, no pill containers, no IV tube, and no cigarette tray.
So it wasn't a dream. It was all real. The fight with Claire was real, and so was the gun fire.
I bent down grabbing my skull. Why couldn't it be a nightmare? A harmless nightmare.
Something moved on the bed. I backed up till my spine was against the wall.
"Mrrg, *YAWN*, urg. Time to get up. joy. Oi!"
The human sat up, and proceeded to bend her back. As I heard a few good pops, I noticed how skinny she was compared to Charlie. Her hair was yellow and red, and the eyes were blue. Charlie had black hair, and always had some black stuff under his brown eyes.
She spotted me, and that's when I remembered last night with the van, the chocolate, and the fireworks.
"Morning Short Starry. Did you sleep good? You guys were pretty zonked."
"Y-yeah. How about you, J. Jassy? No, uh, Jam?"
"He, good guesses, but it's Jana. And I did sleep good."
I mentally face palmed.
"Don't worry, if you forget just think of a banana, then throw in a 'J' somewhere."
"He, alright."
"Oh, which reminds me, what's you and your brothers name?"
"Well, my old owner never named us. He always called me Shorty and my brother Skinny."
"I know I'm not going to call you that, so I'll need to think of a name. By the way, do you know the other two? The scary looking ones?"
"Neop, I don't."
"Well then, I'll have to ask them. And I remember that Overalls didn't have a name, so I'll have to think of one. And I noticed that Cross wasn't in his room. Should we wake the others, or start breakfast and let their stomachs wake them?"
"Get breakfast first. . . How long is the drive to a McDonnie?"
"Well, it's a 40 minute drive, but what do you want there?"
"My old owner would take us there everyday to get breakfast burger. Me and and brother only ate the egg part of it though."
"Yuck. McDonnie's egg patties are garbage compared to free-ranged, self-cooked egg patties. And you gave me an idea for breakfast. How do you like breakfast burritos?"
"Never tried them."
"Then you will have to try one. I believe I have most of the stuff ready, just need to warm up some tortillas and scramble some eggs. Speaking of, I managed to get some early yesterday morning, so they should be fresh!"
"Alright, anything I can do to help?"
"Um, just mix these together and pour, hrm, around half of the meat into the pan, and turn it on to 3."
Jana pulled out some bags, a bowl, and a frypan. The ground meat she put by the pan, and the green onions, cheese, and beans were by the bowl. Afterwards she went outside.
Oh boy.
Welp, better get to it.
Using some bones to lift everything to their place, I managed to get the right amounts in. I headed towards the dial for the stove.
All in all for the kitchen it was fairly clean, except for three pancakes stuck to the wall; a pancake on the ceiling, and a large butter smear across the fridge.
Wonder what caused that?
Who knows, and how do you turn this thing on?
I twisted the dial, but the stove didn't turn on. I tried moving the little arrow for the three then pushing on it. Both tries didn't work. The arrow went back to one and I leaned on it. I heard a small click as my back rest turned.
Looking behind me, the dial was pointing to 3 and the stove was warming up.
Yes! Woohoo!
"There you are brother! Isn't this place the best?! All the little paths just our size, the slide going down the stairs, and the- A CLEAN KITCHEN!!"
He quickly climbed up the ladder on one of the lower cupboards and tackle hugged me.
"Oof, Yep, it's pretty nice. So far I've been amazed how big it is."
"I know! And I've only seen a small portion, we will have to ask the new human for a tour. And just curious, have you seen her today?"
"Jana? Yep, she said she wanted to make breakfast burritos this morning. So she went out to get some eggs. I wasn't sure what she meant when she said that she, 'Got some yesterday.' There must be a little market close-by."
"I don't know, but look out the window. What do you suppose those big green things are?"
"No idea, but I need to start mixing these."
"Can I help?"
"I'll gladly take some."
We both climbed onto the bowl, and with the help of some bones, started mixing.
Just as we finished and the meat began to steam, Jana came in with a blue carton. Opening it up, she began to wash them.
I was amazed at the different colors. Instead of just simple white, there was tan, brown, green, blue, and light pink eggs, and at random they were speckled.
"Where do you buy those colorful of eggs?"
"I don't buy them, my chickens lay them.
My brother asked," Your meat is steaming, and what are chickens?"
She headed over to the stove, pulled out a spatula, and started stirring. "Well, chickens are these birds that mostly live on the ground. Their feathers can come in all sorts of patterns, and so can their eggs. I let them wander around the yard so they can look for bugs and other yummy stuff. The more stuff they find in the yard, the better the egg tastes."
"So bugs make the eggs yummy?"
"Ha, close but not quite. The bug gives the chicken minerals and nutrients, and those go into the egg. So you don't have to worry about finding an antenna in the yolk."
"Oh."
Jana finished stirring, and went to grab one of the sharp knifes from that wooden box that's usually on the counter. Stopping, she began to count them. "19, 20. Cross, why'd you have to take the steak knife?"
She moved back to the eggs to finish cracking them. Scrambling them up and pulling out a pan(which she melted butter in it and turned on the stove) she poured the eggs in. Pulling out a bigger bowl, she put in the veggies and the cooked meat.
Another pan was pulled out, along with some tortillas from the fridge. She threw in two of the flour disks, and went back to the eggs.
"This will be done in a minute, do you two want to go wake up the others?"
"Sure."
"Defiantly Human! Anything to help!"
We climbed the mini stairs, and ran for the others rooms.
"WAKE UP! A GLORIOUS BREAKFAST HAS BEEN MADE!! . . Anyone?"
"Think this will work?"
I stood on the alarm clock, ready to set it off. Then I noticed the picture. I saw Jana right away. But the other three I don't know. There was a boy with the same facial features as Jana, and he looked around her age. There were two adults standing behind them, smiling. But something seemed a little off about them. For one, the woman's eyes were bright yellow and the man's was a blue so pale it looked white.
These couldn't be her parents, right?
The odd hair color on all of them gave me second thoughts. But then I looked closer.
The woman ears were hard to see, due to them being under the hair, but I managed to see that they weren't the normal ears. Moving on to the father, I spotted four odd bumps on his head that were barley visible. Heading down to the boy, he had the smallest fang sticking out from his upper jaw. Then Jana. Everything looked the same, except here there was two odd bulges, very slight but noticeable if you looked hard enough, behind her shoulders.
I thought back to when I saw her in the kitchen. She was a bit older than the picture, but I never noticed anything odd. Maybe her clothes hid the bugles? No, because how can I see them in here?
"Yes brother, I think that will work!"
My brother broke my train of thought on the odd family photo. I set it off, and I heard at least 2 of the others fall out of bed.
"Ugh."
"Five more minutes."
"What happened!"
"PeanutButter!"
"How could you!?"
"*Yawn*, welp."
"I'll get you for this!"
"Who dares to startle the Great Boss?"
"Wu, Wha! *thunk*"
"NYEH!"
"Oi, we're getting up now?"
"Yaaaa! *thunk*"
"Good Morning!!" "Blue, Why is it a good morning?" "Because it is."
"What time is it?"
"Time to be up!" My brother said.
I cut in,"Breakfast is almost ready!" That shut up most of them. I could hear them moving around, trying to get ready. I better hurry to get a good seat.
Jana POV
I had just finished mixing everything together and getting the first burrito made, when I hear a sneeze from one of the cupboards. Slowly opening it up, I spotted a certain skeleton about to sneeze again. "There you are." I reached my hand in, ready for if the knife goes astray.
"Ahh!" Cross quickly stood up and (struggling) picked up his stolen knife. Just as he was about to steady himself, he sneezed and knocked himself over. That sent the sharp blade of metal towards my hand. It hit, and merely bounced off.
"Jana, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you, I was just star- Ar- AchOo!"
He sneezes like a kitten! 😻
"Cross, your fine, and I need to get you out of that cupboard. I don't want those glasses to fall on you."
I picked him up, and grabbed the knife. Taking a closer look, Cross didn't look to great. In fact, he looked sick. I put the knife in the dishwasher, and put my other hand by the sink, just in case. Cross was noticeably shivering, and started to cough.
"I'm not mad about you throwing the knife or stealing it. I'm not upset about you hiding it either. In fact, I somewhat expected you to hide do to you being in a new place."
"R-real-" he started a coughing fit. Gently, I pressed my finger against his skull.
A fever. Guess that answers my question if they can get sick or not.
The coughs subsided, and I set him down.
"I'll get you a blanket for you to wrap yourself in. I'll also get you some medicine to help with the coughing."
He nodded, and I quickly ran upstairs. I spotted the rest of them already on their way to breakfast.
"Morning Jana!"
"What's for breakfast?"
"Do you know where Cross went?"
I got these and a lot of 'Good Morning.'
"Breakfast Burritos, and Cross is already downstairs."
"Ok!"
It was fun to watch over half of them make a train down the slide. Papyrus was lucky enough to get the front, or was it Wild at the back who was the luckiest?
Good thing I set down a pillow, and where's, there!
I grabbed Cross's blanket, and some medicine from the bathroom. At that point I had Nightmare hitch a ride along with Error.
Running down the stairs, I found a big pile of bones, with all the skulls laughing.
And I don't know HOW the Red-eye managed to get on the back of my shirt without me noticing, but they did. I know Nightmare and Error were on, but Red-eye nearly made me wack him with the medicine bottle when he yelled 'Boo!' right into my ear.
"Ah, don't Scare me like that you little stinker😆!"
I very lightly bopped him with it. His toothy grin was all I needed to see that he enjoyed my 'small' jump. I smiled back, and finished breakfast.
I had cut the burritos into small mini versions, and all 17 were ready to eat. I still have no idea which ones passed out the plates.
Then there was Cross, still where I left him. I peered into the sink and found some vomit. I quickly dished out the minirritos, saving one for Cross. Wrapping the blanket around him, I gave the shivering skele some medicine. But not the amount needed for a human, oh no, this was merely a small fraction. Cross took it and started on the minirrito to get rid of the taste.
He looked a little better getting something warm in.
"Miss Jana, what's wrong with Cross?" Blue asked.
"Oh, he's got a fever. I gave him some medicine. Now all he needs is rest and water, and depending on how bad it is he should be better tomorrow."
By now half of the minirrito was gone and Cross was curled up, snoozing.
"Maybe I can help a little, keep him company at least." Dream asked.
"Ok, are you done eating then?"
"Not quite, But I'll come up after I'm finished."
Nodding, I carried Cross upstairs and laid him in his bed. I pulled out two other blankets from different beds to help him keep warm, along with a mini nightstand for a nearby surface. Snuggled up in the blankets, the sick skele continued to sleep. His shivers decreased and I didn't hear as much coughing.
The medicine must be kicking in
"Jana? I brought some water."
"Thanks Dream, can you set in on the nightstand by him? I'm worried that if I try without tweezers I'll end up spilling it."
"No problem."
I lifted him up to the room, and he placed it on wooden stand. A flash lit up the room, followed by a clap of thunder.
"Well, looks like we won't be going outside today. And this storm doesn't look as bad as the other day."
I sat up,"I'll be downstairs if he needs anything, and thanks again for watching him."
"Don't worry, Cross is in good hands."
"Oh, and that reminds me."
[AN: I do not own the following titles, Nintendo does along with the game creators]
I began digging through my electronics drawer. Pulling out my Nintendo Switch, I opened it up and set it in the room. I pulled off the controllers and handed one to Dream.
"Just in case you need something to do. The power button is right here, and the area for the game chips is right here."
I pointed to the different spots.
"I have a few games already downloaded on it, and I have 5 more that are the chips. Right now Ark: Survival Evolved is in it, but I can switch it to a different one."
"I'll try this one in a little bit, see how he's doing after a bit. . . And did you just?"
"Yes 😁. Ok, and don't worry if the character dies, I have it on single player creative mode. Just don't go near a Giga or a boss. Oh, and by the way, make sure you set a timer for 50 minutes, or else you risk crashing the game and losing half your progress. Once the 50 is up, go to the game's home menu then the console home menu, and close Ark. After that you can get back on for another 50 min. This doesn't happen with any of the other games I got on there."
"Al-right?"
"Holler if you need anything."
"Ok."
"Mrg, keep it down please,"
Smiling, I snuck back down the stairs. A couple of the Bitties had already gotten thirds- somehow.
End of part 1 because I am at 3494 words and I am NOT writing a part with over 7,000 words.
