When I heard the bad news,
Everything seemed to come to a standstill.

I could feel my heart pounding against my chest and I could hear the rapid breathing ringing through my ears.

"Wh what?......." I choked feeling tears starting to well up in my eyes,
I swallowed several lumps in my throat.

"As I said, Maria. I am terribly sorry to announce that you may never walk again,
I am truly sorry...." that's when I finally broke down to sobs and tears and crying very loudly,
so loud that it echoes through the room. "Wh why?..... wh what did I do to deserve this? *sob!*" I could feel Red patting my cheek in comfort with his tiny boned hand and trying to support me as I became an absolute sobbing mess.

"*sob, sniff!* H How am I going to explain this to my parents, that they're only daughter is now paralysed?" I continued to sob hearing a series of footsteps and arms wrapping around my shaky body.
From out of my misty eyes,
I could see Della wrapping her arms around me and patting my head.

"D Della?..." I sobbed loudly and sniffing "shhh... It's okay, Maria. I'm here, everything's gonna be alright" she replies in a soothing voice as my sobbing calmed down to a slight crying.
"Wh where's Sleepy?" I managed to choke out as I made eye contact with Della gazing into her green-blue orbs.
"He's outside,
He's absolutely fine" I smiled returning the hug "thank you....." I whispered before my eyes slowly closed and everything went pitch black.
