Reuben's POV

She was so close to me, she looked beautiful, her scent, her eyes, her soft skin on mine. Everything about her is perfect. She is nothing more or less.

I don't know what made me go to her cabin. Something in me just wants to be close to her, to feel her.

What made me sent her those roses? I never really cared about those damn flowers.

One thing I know is, she is turning me into my old self, that person who died two years ago, that person who was weak and believed in love. She is making me feel the way I felt before.

I was drenched in my thoughts when I heard my phone ring. I checked the caller ID. Mom.

"Hello mom." I said.

"Hello son." She said excitedly. "Son, I love her, I love her." She added.

"Whom are you talking about?" I asked her.

"Kaesy, your secretary." She squealed.

My heart stopped when I heard her name. And for some reason, I was happy mom liked her.

"Uuhh Is she still there?" I asked her.

"No, she just left now that's why I called you." She said.

"What do you mean mom?" I asked her.

"Invite her to dinner." She said.

"Have you gone mad? Mom, seriously." I shouted in shock. "I mean I would if only there's a party or special dinner." I added.

"Have you forgotten again? Tomorrow is the thanksgiving dinner." She said.

"Oh! Right the thanksgiving." I said.

"So invite her." She said.

"Mom, why don't you talk to her yourself. I'll send her num--" She cuts me off mid sentence.

"Son I could have when she was here but I want you to do this. And I know you won't disappoint me." She said and hung up.

I put down my phone, just then I heard the door knock.

"Come in." I said.

Kaesy walks in. I was happy again.

"Sir, here are the files." She said.

I cleared my throat.

"Leave it here." I said.

"Anything else?" She asked.

"No, nothing." I said.

She nodes her head and turns to leave.

"Uuh actually there's something more." I said and she turns around again.

"My mother has invited you to our thanksgiving dinner tomorrow." I said.

She looked at me, confused.

"So if you could make it." I said.

"Uumm Ye- yes I would love to." She finally speaks up.

"Very well then, we'll be expecting you tomorrow night at 7:00 pm." I said.

She smiles at me and leaves.

Kaesy's POV

Crap, I tried the last dress in my wardrobe but nothing seems to look good on me anymore.

Snap! Now I remembered. I rushed in my living room and found the parcel lying on the couch.

My mother called and said that she had found a really pretty dress the other day and thought to gift it to me as a thanksgiving present. Moms are just great.

I opened the parcel and when I saw the dress, my senses were overwhelmed. It was a soft-orange evening gown embroidered around the bust.

I slipped into the dress feeling happy and satisfied, arranged my hair to a perfect bun, put on slight makeup and set out for the dinner.

I entered my car and started the engine. It didn't start up. I tried again. It didn't. I tried for the last time. No.

"Gosh! Perfect timing." I murmured angrily.

"Now I need to take a cab." I said and got out of the car.

I walked down the street and amazingly a cab was coming my way. I called for it and got in.

I was at the entrance within 20 minutes.

"Good night ma'am." The cab driver said and drove away.

I stepped in the big lawn which looked beautiful with lights. And soon I was standing infront of the door. I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

The door opened and I was welcomed by Caroline herself.

"Hello darling. I'm so glad you came." She said and pulled me into a warm hug.

"Hello. Thank you so much for inviting me over." I said and returned her hug.

"Come in, come in." She said.

I followed her in.

"Kaesy, this is William. My husband." Caroline said.

"Oh! Hello Mr. Bareth. Pleasure to meet you." I said extending my hand.

"Hello. The pleasure is mine." He said in his deep voice accepting my hand.

"Hi!" I heard someone say from behind me.

I turned around to find Ashton opening his arms for a hug.

"Hi." I said and stepped forward for the hug.

"You look beautiful." Ashton whispered in my ears.

"Thank you." I said and blushed.

"Ok now everybody dinner's ready." Caroline said. "Wait! Where's Reuben?"

"Oh! He's here." Ashton said.

I looked around and saw the handsome Reuben in his black tuxedo.He looked at me and nodded.

I smiled back at him.

We sat around the dinner table. Caroline said a short prayer and we started our dinner.

The dish was set in various style with different kinds of recepies. There was this spaghetti with pork Bolognese, fried turkey, tomato soup, juicy asparagus, champagne with more side dishes.

After having a heavy dinner I could barely move. Everyone gathered around the living room for the fun time.

Hmm such a loving family, I thought.

I looked at the clock standing in the middle of the room. Half pass ten.

"Umm everybody I think I should get going. Thank you so much for tonight." I said rising up from my sit.

"Oh I wish you could stay a bit more." Caroline said.

"I wish I could." I said and hugged her.

"I'll take you home." Reuben said grabbing his keys.

"Oh! No I'm fine. I'll just take a cab." I said.

"You won't get a cab at this hour of time." Ashton said.

That was also true.

"Honey Ashton's right." Caroline said.

I just gave them a defeated look.

After almost 10 minutes of saying goodbyes. I bit them my last byes and stepped in the car with Reuben.

There was an ackward silence between us all the way till we reached my apartment.

"I'll walk you there." Reuben said.

I quietly walked beside him. Then I spoke up.

"Umm I- I just want to say thank you." I said hesitantly.

"You've already said it a thousand times back home." He said smiling at me.

"No no I mean thank you for the roses umm they were beautiful."
I said.

As soon as I said that he stood there frozen.

"How did you know?" He said looking at me.

"I'm sorry, I really am. I went to your study room yesterday and I mistakenly dropped some books and a slip fell out of it. Umm the note." I said. "Those wor-"

Before I knew it , he took me in his arms and his lips closed over mine.He bent his head. His lips met mine....pressed....waiting.

I found myself lost in his arms .... lost in his kiss.

I tried to break free from his grip but surprisingly I felt myself taking a step ahead. My lips parted in response to his kiss.

He slowly and carefully deepened the kiss as if afraid to break something complicated ..... something fragile.

And soon I found my every inch of the body react to his touch. I didn't want to let go of this moment.

I can drop a thousand coins in the wishing well and wish the world would stop revolving, wish the universe would freeze if only I can grab hold of this time again.

Aaaaaaahhhh they finally kissed!!

I'm so glad!

How was this chapter? I'm basically not good in writing the kiss scenes but whew I managed to write it.
