HUNTER's POV

Her attention was on Georgina who was currently busy with her speech. I was about to strode my way towards her when I felt someone stopped me by my shoulder.

I looked at who it was and I saw my father who was staring at me with a serious face.

"What the hell was that, papa?! I never agreed to that!" I spat at him but his face remained emotionless.

"This is for your own good" I shook my head with disbelief.

"For my own good or for your own good? Have you gone desperate, papa? I already told you, I can fix this problem but you refused to trust me and now you're doing this?! I can't believe you!" I yelled at him before I decided to go out of the hall.

But when I reached the entrance, I couldn't find her anymore. She left. Damnation!

I ran outside and tried to catch up to her but when I arrived outside, I couldn't find her there either. I asked the guards if they saw her and described her to them and luckily, one of them noticed her a while ago and pointed at the direction where she ran to.

I swiftly ran to the direction they told me and they were right, I saw her crying at the nearby park while sitting on a bench. My heart clenched painfully when I saw her tears. Damn! I keep on making her cry! What's wrong with me?!

I slowly walked towards her and stopped in front of her.

"Baby..." She tilted up her head and I cursed myself again when I saw the pain on her face. She wiped her tears angrily and stood up. She was about to walk passed me when I pulled her by her wrist and quickly enveloped her for a tight hug.

I missed her so much that seeing her right now made me want to take her right there and then but I know it wasn't the right time for me to think about that.

"Let go off me!" She hissed and tried to push me away from her but I didn't let her.

"Don't push me away, Angel baby. I missed you so much. Let me hug you longer" She stopped wiggling out of my arms but her sobs became louder.

"Oh God! Don't cry, baby. You know how much I hate seeing you cry" I felt like I said that way too much already and it pained me too.

"I-Is it true? A-are you going to marry h-her?" My arms loosened a little bit from hugging her as I wiped her tears with my thumb.

"You believed that? Come on, baby. You know how much I love you to do that. If there's someone whom I'm going to marry, that's you" She looked surprised but there was still a hint of doubt in her eyes.

"Don't you believe me?" She bit her lower lip and looked down like she was having a second thought of her answer.

"Y-You know how much I love you, baby, but I heard what I heard a while ago and they were announcing your engagement to that woman" Her voice trembled as she said about the engagement.

"Then trust me"

"How? You aren't even explaining about it but you're expecting me to trust you?" She asked me with a hint of anger. Oh, she looked so beautiful right now and I couldn't stop myself anymore. I cupped her face with my hands and kissed her passionately.

"Hmp!" She tried to evade my kiss but I didn't let her. Damn! It's been more than two weeks since the last time I kissed her but those two weeks felt like a year! Her lips and her body fit so perfectly with mine and her effect on me never cease to amaze me.

When she realized that she couldn't evade my kiss, I felt her hit my shoulder a couple of times but I managed to make her moan when I bit her lower lip gently, coaxing her to part her lips for me and she didn't disappoint. I deepened our kiss when she finally gave up and let me in.

I almost triumphantly but I continued kissing her until she couldn't help herself anymore and kiss me back with equal fervor. Judging by the way she was kissing me back, I knew for sure that she missed me too like the way I missed her.

"Let's get out of here, baby" I breathed when our lips parted to breathe for air. She stared at me with furrowed eyebrows before she lightly pushed me away from her.

"I won't go anywhere with you if you won't explain about what I saw a while ago. Are you cheating on me, Hunter?" My eye widened. I knew she's angry because she didn't call me baby and the way she called me by my name was different.

Her gaze were like piercing me, even my soul. I heaved a sigh. I didn't know if because it's been a while since I saw her or what but she looked more stunning to me now. Her tummy looked bigger than the last time I saw her.

When my eyes went back to her face, I still saw the pain and jealousy in her eyes. I approached her and held her hands. Thankfully she didn't protest. I kissed the back of her hands before I started explaining.

"You don't have to get angry and jealous about it, baby, because that engagement she announced a while ago was nothing. I didn't know about it until a while ago too. I was there because my father asked me to be the escort of Georgina for her birthday. I really didn't want to go because I knew she likes me even before we met. Yes, I admit that we had a fling before but that was it. It never was a serious thing and she knew it" Her face softened a little bit but the jealousy was still there.

"Why would she announce that you're now engaged if it wasn't true?"

"I don't know too. Remember what I've told you about our company's problem?" She nodded.

"I think she's using our company's problem to lure me. Her father is one of the major stock holders and he's planning on withdrawing his shares in our company because apparently, someone offered him a good business partnership. Another two major stock holders are planning on following him if he would really leave the company. Honestly, I don't care about them if they leave the company but Georgina told me something a while ago that caught my attention. I think, the one who offered Mr. Vitalis a partnership is the one who was behind of what happened to our company and if my theory was true then I need to do something to know his identity including his agenda of doing this to us"

Angela remained silent while listening to me but she looked confuse. She was about to comment about it when the ringing of my phone suddenly interrupted her. I took out my phone from my pocket and checked who it was.

When I saw Stephen's name, I answered it immediately.

"I have a good news for you, my man" I motioned for Angela to stay sitting on the bench before I stepped a few feet away from her.

"I'm guessing you finally got the information I asked you to find out?" He laughed before he answered.

"Of course! You're forgetting that you're talking to Stephen the great here" I almost rolled my eyes of how over confident and smug he was.

"Fine. You're good of what you do. Now, can you tell me about the information you found out?"

"You're no fun. Okay. I'll tell you. I bet you'll going to be shocked of what I've found out"

"So, really know who's responsible of what happened to our company?"

"Yes but he looked like he deliberately let me know about his identity because he didn't bother cleaning up his tracks. This man is cocky not to mention a very powerful man" My teeth clenched.

"Do I know him?"

"Yes. Even I was shocked that he was the one behind this scheme. It's you're future brother-in-law" My eyebrows knitted together as I got confused for a second. Then my eyes widened.

"Don't tell me it's Regan Novell?!" I almost shouted.

"Bingo, my man!" What?!

I couldn't form a sentence for a couple of seconds. I wanted to get mad.

"Did you manage to get any information why he did it?"

"Well, apparently, he was ragingly mad of you because someone told him about your secret" So, he already knew? But who told him? Damn! He stole the opportunity for me to explain myself to him properly. I knew he would get angry the moment he would discover the truth but I didn't expect him to do this extent just because he was furious towards me.

"Do you know who informed him about it?" I asked through gritted teeth.

"Of course. His name is Benjamin Remis aka Ben" I shut my eyes close for a couple of seconds and heaved a sigh.

"Okay. I'll send the payment the usual way. Thanks, man"

"Aren't you going to ask me what I've found out about why that Ben did that?" He asked curiously.

"No need. I already know"

"Really? Hmmm...Well, it's very obvious so of course, you would know" He laughed which made me feel irritated. I was about to say something when he interrupted me.

"Anyway, I think something's weird with all of this. I confirmed that Regan Novell was the one behind the first attack on the market value of your company's stocks but I think we're missing something here and I want to find that out. I am almost certain that another shadow is just hiding in the dark, waiting for the right time to attack you, so be careful. Whatever the agenda of this person is, one thing is for sure. He's up to no good. In this case, you should fear this one compared to Regan Novell" My fists formed into right fists.

"Find out who this person is as soon as possible" I instructed with a stern tone.

"Of course. I will update you about it ASAP. I'll hung up now" He said and ended the call.

"What now, Hunt?" I mumbled to myself and heaved a sigh again. Now that I already knew who caused the problem of our company right now, I didn't know what to think or do. Yes, I felt angry of what he did but I felt mad to myself too.

I knew he did this because he wanted to get back at me for what I've done to his sister. I couldn't blame him if he was ragingly mad right now and wanted to destroy me. But even though this was the case, I didn't feet threaten at all for some reason. But that other information about a certain someone who wanted to destroy me got into me.

As far as I remember, my father and I never had any feud to someone in the business industry but it seems like someone wants to destroy us for a reason I couldn't understand.

"Who was that?" I faced Angela and she has an unreadable expression on her beautiful face.

"It's Stephen"

"What did he tell you? You look bothered" I smiled faintly and stepped closer to her. I held her hands and stared into her eyes.

"Let's go to my penthouse first. You look tired. I bet our baby is tired too" I caressed her tummy and then lean down to kiss it. When I raised my head, I saw her face softened. She sighed before she nodded her head surrenderingly.

While we were in the car going to my penthouse, Angela was silent. I wanted to talk to her and persuade her not to get mad at me anymore because of what happened but I just decided to just drive and talk to her when we arrive to our destination.

When we finally arrived, we went up in total silence but to my relief, she didn't push me away when I held her hand and intertwined with mine.

"Are you hungry, baby? What do you want to eat? I'll cook for you" I offered her when we entered the suite. She was looking around like she was inspecting if there was something changed inside. Then her eyes stopped on me. To my surprise, she suddenly closed the gap between us and hugged me tightly.

"What's wrong?" I asked her worriedly when I felt her body trembling.

"Tell me you love me" My eyebrows knitted together. I unwrapped her arms around me and cupped her face. I cursed under my breath because I saw the pain and fear in her eyes. She looked like she was afraid that she might lose me or something.

"I love you....so much that I won't be able to survive without you in my life" I said with all honesty and kissed her forehead.

"Why the tears? Please believe me when I say that it's only you. No need to get upset of what you saw a while ago because that was nothing"

"W-What if you're father force you to marry her?" I heaved a sigh.

"Even if they force me to, I will never do it. Even if papa would disown me like he did to Tiff, I will never follow him. Not this time"

"Really, baby? You will do that for me?" I smiled adoringly at her and then wiped her tears with my fingers.

"Of course. I told you, you're my life and I'll do anything to be with you" Her eyes brightened. She clung her arms around my neck and tiptoed to kiss me. I responded to her kiss wildly and snaked my arms around her waist. Our kiss deepened as our tongues mated together.

The kiss felt so good. I felt my friend down there stiffened with arousal. I cupped her butt and pulled her closer to me but careful of not applying pressure to her tummy as well. I kneaded her supple butt with lust before my right hand went to her breast and started playing it in an erotic manner.

She gasped when our lips parted and my kiss went down to her neck.

"H-Hey, don't leave a mark there again!" She rebuked with sexily but I just chuckled and continued my assault on her body. I sucked and bit the sensitive part of her neck before I ran my lips and tongue on her skin playfully.

My hand went to her back to find the zipper of her dress when her stomach suddenly grumbled. I couldn't help but to laugh and stopped on what I was doing. Her cheeks flushed and looked so adorable being embarrassed like that.

"Okay, I'll cook first. Looks like our baby is already hungry" I said playfully before I kissed the tip of her nose. She pouted which made me amused more.

ANGELA's POV

I was eating the food Hunter cooked with gusto. I was not a big eater before but since I became pregnant, I noticed the change in my appetite. I always feel hungry and it seemed that every food I eat tastes delicious.

"Hey, are you just going to watch me eat?" I asked him when I noticed that he was just staring at me and he haven't started eating yet. He gave me a lopsided grin.

"I love watching you eat, baby. You're the kind of woman who doesn't care about her poise when she eats. Even though you came from a rich family, you don't act like those spoiled brats I know. You're a simple yet wild and I love that about you"

"Hmmm...you're being too corny, baby. I think you're just hungry so start eating now. And by the way, stop staring at me like that" I said and rolled my eyes. He chuckled.

"I told you, I am not embarrassed to act corny when it comes to you because that's how much I love you. And by the way too, I always enjoy staring at you so what's the problem?"

"Hmp! Don't start with me, Mister. You're not forgiven yet for going to that party to be with that woman" the playful expression on his face suddenly disappeared and replaced with panic. I wanted to laugh because he looked like he was so nervous. He stood up from his seat and sat to the chair next to me. He held my hand and made me stare at him.

"Baby...."

"What?"

"I thought we're okay now? Please, forgive me. I promise you that I wasn't there to be with her. I was telling the truth about her so----"I put a finger on his lips to silence him.

"I know. I'm just kidding. Even though I hate the fact that you went there, at least, I saw how you treated her coldly before she went to the stage and announce your engagement with her"

"What? You were there when we were talking at the table?" I nodded my head and bit my lower lip.

"T-Then why didn't you approach her? By the way, how come you were there?" He asked curiously.

"Someone sent me an invitation. I didn't want to go because I don't know the celebrant personally but the invitation was accompanied by a letter that says I need to go there in order to witness your engagement. Before receiving that letter, I was planning on coming here to surprise you but I was the one who got surprised instead"

"I'm sorry you saw that but believe me, I never planned on marrying her even for a second. I didn't know about it. You believe me, right?" His eyes were like pleading for me to believe him. I heaved a sigh.

"I believe you and I trust you that you would never hurt me again because you promised me. But I don't trust that woman" I admitted. He nodded.

"I don't trust her either and they had plans on taking us down so I must prepare for it" Anger passed through his eyes but it disappeared as soon as it appeared.

I looked at him lovingly and was about to say something when the telephone rang. Hunter automatically stood up and answered it. After how many seconds later, I heard his loud voice.

"What? Are you sure that's what he said?" He looked at me while talking on the phone and I saw that he was bothered by something. He looked worried.

"Okay. Let them in" I heard him instructed the person he was talking to. I quickly finished the remaining food in my plate and then drank the glass of water before I stood up and approached him.

"Is everything okay?" I saw him gulped inaudibly before he raked his fingers through his hair.

"Reg---your brother is here"

"What? How did he know this place?" He shrugged his shoulders and held my hands. His hands were definitely cold and he was undeniably feeling uneasy.

"Baby...he already knew the truth" He confessed. My eyes widened. I was about to open my mouth to speak when the doorbell chimed. Oh God! This is not happening!

Panic was eating my insides but Hunter cupped my face and pecked me on the lips. He was smiling at me like he was reassuring me that everything's going to be fine. The negative feelings in me decreased because of him. I smiled back and we went towards the door, hand and hand.

Hunter was the one who opened the door and the serious face of Regan came into view. He was with three men.

"Angelique, let's go home" I was about to go to him and give him a hug when he spoke.

"What are you talking about, Reg? I just arrived here"

"Angelique, please. This is for your own good" I was taken a back because my brother just said 'please'!

"Can we talk, Mr. Novell?" I heard Hunter asked. Regan's face contorted with anger when he switched his gaze to Hunter and he was obviously gritting his teeth. Just one look at him and I knew that he's beyond angry.

"Let's go, Angelique. I'll explain to you later" he said and pulled my hand.

"Mr. Novell, please don't do----" Before Hunter could finish his sentence, Regan's fist flew to Hunter's face in a blink of an eye. I screamed with horror when I saw Hunter fell down the floor and the corner of his lips was already bleeding. I looked at Regan to shout at him when I was taken a back with his expression. I've never seen him this furious before. He looked menacing and scary that caused me to bit back the words I wanted to say.
