Rules were made to be broken

THIRD PERSON ALERT!

Alexander and the others walked towards the campfire, all of which wondering what this announcement was about. Alexander's cheek was still warm and tingly from where Thomas had kissed it. It was weird, he felt like he was still blushing in that particular spot even though he knew he wasn't.

As they gathered around the campfire Madison looked at the others with an almost grim look on his face, like he was about to share horrid news. When he looked at Alexander and Thomas, his expression was just pure disgust. They were sitting a bit close and they kept stealing glances at each other.

James cleared his throat and began to speak. "I have decided to set up a few rules. I don't know if anybody has noticed, but there seems to be a larger amount of zombies in the city than before, and it's concerning me. I ran out of ammo just two days ago trying to take down one hoard of zombies. You might remember that we didn't come back with much that day. So, I've decided we need to travel in bigger numbers. There are two ways this could play out; either we all go at one time once a week, or we make the groups bigger so that 4 of us go every two days. Of course the second option means that one of us would have to go more than usual- which I am more than willing to do- but it's just not safe to travel by three's anymore.

So, we'll have a vote. If you think that we should all go once a week, raise your hand.". John and Alexander raised their hands. "Okay, one..two." he counted, hesitating when he saw Alexander's hand up. "Who votes that 4 should go every two days?". Thomas, Lafayette, Hercules and James raised their hands. "One, two, three and four." he counted sounding satisfied. "Alright, thats settled, we'll travel in groups of four from now on. Now for the other rules most of which concerning...him." he said gesturing towards Alexander, glaring daggers.

Alexander raised his hand. "What do you mean?" "I mean there has to be rules regarding you, you're too dangerous." John stepped in to defend Alexander. "No he's not. That whole car ride when we brought him here, he didn't show any signs of aggression and he didn't try to hurt us." Madison laughed frustrated laughter. "You mean he didn't try to hurt Thomas? I don't even mean during the car ride, when he first saw Thomas he didn't hurt him in any way?" He questioned.

"Well," Thomas started "he did kic-" realizing what he said, he slapped a hand over his mouth and looked down. "I knew it, there's no way that those two didn't get into some kind of fight. What comes next? It might get physical and eventually when he acknowledges his advantage - which I bet he already has - he'll attack him and it won't be pretty." No one spoke for a while. They seemed to be considering what James had just said. They hated to admit it, but Alexander was actually pretty dangerous when you thought about it. He could easily turn on them - chained or not - and kill them all, seeing as they were so emotionally attached that they wouldn't hurt him.

"So, if anyone wants to interrupt me again, do it now, I'm losing my patience." Much to Alexander's dismay no one spoke. Not even John or his friends. Not even Thomas. "Well, I've decided that we should put a limit on him." This time Lafayette spoke up. "Another one?!" "Yes another one. If, for some reason, you want to go talk to him, you must stay 1-2 feet away at most." This time a riot broke out. Everyone started yelling at James and he was left to defend himself. Suddenly, Alexander remembered that he'd promised to meet Finn that night.

Taking advantage of the noise, he slipped away.

FIRST PERSON! HAMMY BOI!

I was barely able to make out the tent that I had met Finn by last night, but after a few minutes I found it. I sat down near the peg holding the tent down and sure enough, I heard the familiar rustle of leaves and the two green eyes popping out the bush, along with a freckled face and curly brown hair.

How I missed Phillip.

"Hi Alexander!" "Hey Finn." "You don't sound so happy..." "Well, I'm not." "What's wrong?" "Do you ever feel...misunderstood as a zombie?" "Well, yeah lots of times. The people that come to the city, they look at us like we're scary. I think we are...sometimes I hear...I hear a.." Oh no. This poor child has witnessed gunfire.

He's witnessed death.

A few tears fell down the boys face and dropped off his chin. "Hey..hey kid, don't cry..." "W-what  if I w-wanna cry?" Well I can't object to that.. "Well then, go ahead kid, no one's stopping you." I said and I let a few tears drop myself. And so Finn cried for the second time since I'd known him. It always pained me to see kids crying, or anyone for that matter. It's just, the first time I saw him cry the life was draining from his eyes.

More over, it was my fault.

Sooner or later he was just hiccuping. "I'm s-s-sorry, i d-don't l-like seeing peo-people die..." "That's okay Finn, no one does." "Can....can we go?" I looked at him confused. "Go...where?" "Away. Just, away from here, I don't like them yelling." He said and gestured to the campfire. "Oh, okay...follow me." I said, and I climbed through the shrub. It was a little barren, but there was still grass there, nevertheless. I got up, took Finn's hand, and we started walking.

It was peaceful, you could hear crickets chirping and the stars twinkled above us. Eventually we found a muddy patch in the grass and sat down. I don't remember ever liking mud, or getting dirty in the first place. But it felt nice, just sitting there holding someone's hand.

Someone like me. Someone who understands me. You don't come across that often.

I don't remember falling asleep, but I do remember Finn's heavy breathing next to me, and soon I just closed my eyes and let the darkness engulf me.

I wish I could do this with Thomas.

HAH! YOU THOUGHT I WAS JUST GONNA LEAVE IT THERE!? OH NO, THERES MORE! AND WHETHER OR NOT IT'S GONNA BE ANGSTY, I DONT KNOW, BECAUSE IM JUST MAKING THIS UP AS I GO, IN CASE YOU HAVENT NOTICED! LEZ GO!

FIRST PERSON! TOMMY BOI!

We'd been searching for Ale-Hamilton, for a long time now. He had slipped away during the argument last night, and now we couldn't find him. I was getting sincerely worried, because

1. He's been gone all night

2. The sun was setting

3. Did I mention we haven't found him yet?

4. I may or may not have developed an itty bitty crush on him.

We were in a travel party consisting of Laurens, Mulligan, Lafayette and me. (Madison stayed behind claiming we would be fine without him anyways.) Then out of the blue Laurens screamed, "GUYS OVER HERE!" I ran over to where Laurens was standing and sure enough there he was. His black messy hair was sprawled across the ground and he was covered in mud. He was laying next to another figure. On closer inspection, it was a little boy. A green little boy.

So Alex was making zombie friends now.

I (speed) walked up to Alexander and tapped him in the shoulder. All I got in response was a groan. So I shook him and turned him towards me. Slowly his eyes fluttered open..and he immediately turned pale.

God he's so cute when he does that.

I MEAN- ugh, I'm a wreck.

"THOMAS! I-I mean, Thomas, what are you doing here?" Lafayette sniggered at his little slip-up. "Well, you fell asleep in a mud pile with a zombie child, we were looking for you all day!" "Well, I'm sorry for worrying you, your highness. You guys were kind of planning restrictions on me." Oh right. I should probably tell him about that. Or...maybe not. "Yeah well, we need to get back before Jemmy kicks our asses." "LANGUAGE!" he screeched and covered the little boy's ears.

"You got yourself a kid! How lovely, who's the father?" Lafayette said walking up. "D-don't you mean mother?" I asked, silently hoping that he actually meant father. "No, he meant father, Alex is bisexual." "HERCULES!" Alex whisper-yelled, "if I wanted to come out to him I would've done it myself."

"Cool, new facts, key lime pie is bi, now can we go back to camp?" I said, trying not to sound excited. If Alexander was bisexual, then I could actually have a shot with him! Of course what are the odds he actually likes me? Is there really odds? Love is just one twisted game, where people float in space for a while, completely oblivious and then people fall and land on clouds. The thing is, falling on clouds doesn't help because it just leaves you falling. If you're lucky enough, you'll never hit the ground. Unfortunately some people do.

(I mean, okay, Thomas is a therapist now.)

As we walked back to camp ( Alexander was carrying the kid, saying that he'd drop him off in the right spot) we all chatted, ignoring the fact that James's ridiculous rules were going to keep us apart for a while. I just don't think I could go that far without being around Alexander.

But hey, it's kind of fun isn't it, breaking the rules.

~Hi guys! Okay, I know I haven't updated in a while, I needed to catch up on school work, but I  swear I've been working on this since the weekend and I'm mad at myself for being so incompetent. I would say I made this chapter long, but I don't know how long it takes you guys to read. And tbh, most of my chapters are somewhat lengthy anyways. #2. PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU UNDERSTOOD THE REFERENCE, I KNOW HARRY POTTER FANS EXIST ON HERE, I KNOW THEY READ JAMILTON FANFICS, JUST PLEASE, I NEED TO KNOW Y'ALL ARE THERE! #3 I'm thinking of making a Christmas story, but I don't know if I should call it 12 days of Christmas or Don we now our gay apparel. If I do make it, it's probs going to be addressing the lgbtq+ community and the types of lgbtq's 🏳️‍🌈. So be on the lookout for that! (But don't be disappointed if it's not there!) alrighty, hanggang as susunod! ✌🏽~
