Lost

~ okay, so, by now, I'm pretty sure we've all heard about the sale of wattpad. So, I'm going to try to get as many chapters out before that happens because I'm using this online, so I don't know what's going to affect me and what's not.~

It was very cold.

Alexander was bundled up well, but the snow out there was a good 3-4 inches. He felt the need to pause on multiple occasions, but he knew if he did he'd lose Finn in all this snow. So he trudged on, eating what he could, seeing as most of the food he had, had gotten cold or hard.

Finn actually stopped at times too, so it wasn't like he was endlessly walking. But with all the snow flurrying around him, it was hard to see, so he had to keep a bit closer than he would've liked. Honestly, at this point, whatever it took to survive. He couldn't go back to the camp. He was a danger to them and he wanted to protect them.

Sometime that night, (though he couldn't tell, because the sky was blocked by gray clouds) the snow started falling a bit harder. I do not like where this is going. He thought to himself as he trudged on. He walked a bit faster as he realized he was lagging behind Finn a bit. The snow had gotten higher, probably 4-5 inches now. It made it a lot harder to trudge through.

He put his head down against the snow, looking down at his feet. The wind swirled around him, and so did the truckload of snow.

When he looked back up, Finn was out of sight.

He started silently panicking and frantically looking around. He stayed in place though, because if he moved he wouldn't know where he was going. He was on the verge of tears, because the poor thing was in the middle of a snow storm, with no one or nothing in sight, except for snow. Angel white snow that stretched on for miles. No Alexander don't cry he told himself if you cry you'll get your face wet, which will freeze on your face and possibly give you hypothermia.

He tried to remember what he had read in a book once. A survival book he'd been reading...OH! Okay, try to find shelter... looking around, he realized that wasn't an option, since he was in the middle of nowhere. Okay...well, I'm supposed to stay dry...he opened his knapsack bag and grabbed some extra blankets and jackets from his bag (which he had packed for situations like this) and put them on any vulnerable parts of his body.

He then looked around once more. Upon further inspection, he spotted something brown in the distance. Of course, his mind immediately wandered to Thomas, but he (well, sort of) told himself he was being silly, and that they were obviously trees.

So he trudged towards the trees, hoping for shelter.

FIRST PERSON! MAIN CHARACTER!

I looked around and spotted something brown and tall. Thomas?! I thought. Alex, I hate to burst your bubble, but there's a very unlikely chance that's him. I heaved a sigh and took this into consideration. Sure, she was probably right, but I wanted to hold on to whatever hope I had left.

As I got closer and closer to the tall figure, my suspicions were confirmed. This was not Thomas, but some woods, with the trees all stripped of their leaves in the middle of winter. When I finally got there, I immediately began grabbing sticks laying around to build a bonfire, and maybe even a small shelter against a tree. (I ended up just making a fire, because I didn't have the energy to build a shelter at the moment) I sat down next to it and warmed myself. I'd have to find Finn tonight...or maybe in the morning? I'm not exactly sure what time of day it is.

Eventually, I lay my head down in the snow, the fire still crackling and dancing in the dark. It was beautiful. You don't ever consider these things until your life seems to depend on it. I closed my eyes, and sooner or later, I fell asleep...

~ALRIGHTY! here's where the song starts to play into the story and even though it's kind of filler I just thought I should add this because I've never done anything like this before. For best effect, I recommend reading the lines when the song says that line. Here's the song!

Yup, we're doing Hey Brother. Take a moment to guess what this is gonna be about. Okay, let's start this thing!~

I woke up in a forest. But it wasn't like the one I'd fallen asleep in. This forest was in the middle of summer, when the leaves were green and the sunlight shone through the branches, illuminating the forest floor. From somewhere nearby, I heard a rustling noise.

"Who's there!?" I said, turning to face the source of the noise. A boy stepped out from behind a tree. He had short, straight brown hair, and eyes that looked almost black. He was severely underdressed, only wearing a dirty white t-shirt and khaki pants that looked a bit too small.

I'd never been happier to see someone.

"J-James?" I whimpered. "Heheh, hey Alex." He said. I ran over to him and tackled him in a hug. Tears were streaming down my face out of sheer happiness. "JAMES! I t-thought I l-lost you..." I said. "Not completely..." he said. Then he started humming a tune I swore I remembered.

Because I did.

"Hey.....brother....there's an e-endless road to rediscover.." I softly sang.

"Hey, sister." I playfully flicked him for addressing me as a girl "know the water's sweet but blood is thicker..." he sang. He got up and offered his hand to me.

I took it, and we both sang in unison, perfect harmony.

"And ooh if the sky came falling down....for you....there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do..."

"Hey, brother, do you still believe in one another?" I sang as we walked hand in hand in the forest. He nodded slung his arm around my shoulder.

"Hey, sister, do you still believe in love I wonder...." he sang softly. I nodded slowly and then hung my head low. I'm sorry Thomas.

He got down in front of me and I climbed on his back. He slowly stood up and he walked around with me on his back.

"And ooh, if the sky came falling down for you, there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do!~"

"What if I'm far from home?" He sang, setting me down. His eyes glimmered with tears. "Oh brother I will hear you call!" I sang, quite emotionally. It reminded me of not so happy times.

"What if I l-lose it a-al-all...." I sang softly. I hugged him tightly. Life hadn't always been easy for me. "Oh sister I will help you out..." he sang, tilting my head up so I could look at him.

"And ooh if the sky came falling down for you there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do~"

We walked some more, talked some more, even danced a bit. It was wonderful. I'd missed him so much.

"Hey...brother....there's an endless road to rediscover..." I sang grabbing his hand. "Hey...sister...do you still believe in love I wonder?" He sang smiling at me.

"And ooh, if the sky came falling down for you there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do!"

"What if I'm far from home?" He sang. I don't want this to end. "Oh brother I will hear you call! What if I lose it a-all..." I sang back. This was so pure, why couldn't we stay like this? "Oh sister I will help you out!" He sang back to me.

"And ooh if sky came falling down for you there's nothing in this world I wouldn't...do~"

"Hey, take care lil bro." He said. "Wait, what? No, James, don't leave me!" I cried. "I'm sorry Alex, just know I'll always be with you, no matter what! Come visit me here sometime soon, it gets lonely.." he said. I clutched onto him for dear life, but he was fading away, the forest was fading away.

When I woke up I shot up out of the snow, and let out a choked sob. I put my head on my knees and rocked back and forth. After a few minutes, I quickly dried off my face so it didn't get too cold from the tears. I then tried to no avail to go back to my dream. Oh how dearly I missed him. I missed Thomas and James and my mom and my friends and my family.

It took all my effort to go to sleep that night.

~so how is everyone? Good well I am laying in bed with a headache but not as severe one so I should be fine. My mom doesn't know because I didn't tell her, I'll be fine. Anyways while I should be working on my research project that's due like sometime next week I'm over here writing a story on Wattpad  because I can, and no one is stopping me, so AHAHAHAHA. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the first song chapter thingy majigy and the fluffy angst. Also, sorry this is so short, but like I said, it's kind of filler, and I'd rather something you don't need than nothing at all. Also, THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH THIS STORY ALMOST HAS 400 READS! ITS ONLY BEEN LIKE, 2 MONTHS SINCE I PUBLISHED GUYS! Y'ALL ARE THE BEST! This is going to seem biased, butttt I wanna give some honorable mentions.

@HOmydear for making the cover and voting on every chapter I've posted. You are greatly appreciated!

@KendallPriester for being in the comment section making hilarious comments in all caps.

And a special tag to those who have this book on their reading lists, one of which I know is @TheGirlWithThePlan thanks to those people who anticipate my next update.

I sincerely hope that we're going to be able to keep Wattpad from being bought, and if it does happen it doesn't affect anything. Cause if people's novels get deleted, what will Wattpad be anymore? Love you all (in a platonic way of course) tá léme argótera ✌🏽!~
