Leason 1

9am bright eyed bushy tailed you skip your way out the village gates and find a cozy spot in the grass covered in spring flowers to await your Sensei's arrival. You place the lunch bag full of his and your favorite foods down beside you then pull the book of chakra development out and continue to read.

An hour goes by and you check the time. 10am...

He's late Dammit...You chew your lip thinking of all the places he could be right now. He probably slept in. But you half knew this was going to happen. From what you had seen this week his time keeping was well... not even close to consistent. Or maybe he just plain forgot.

He better not have, or you will set up a desk outside his front door if you have to.

Bored to tears you close your book and lie back in the daisies watching the white puffs of clouds go by. You hadn't realized how tired you were until now. You guess waiting hand and foot on this man was wearing on you. Might as well have a nap while you wait.

A delicious scent wafts into your nose. You hum taking it in and whisper how nice it is out loud. Then a low smooth voice rouses you from your nap.

"Hey. Wake up." Kakashi says, crouched beside you, poking your ribs with his pointer finger.

"Ow! Quit stabbing me with those boney fingers!" You scowl up at him and he smirks down at you.

"Now that you are well rested, we can begin our lesson."

"What time is it?"

Kakashi flicks his wrist revealing a very expensive silver plated watch.
"It's one in the afternoon."

You sit up with anger rising inside.
"You are four hours late!" You snap and flick the metal plating on his head band.

"Right, sorry about that. I got lost on the path of life." He says casually.

You squint your eyes and purse your lips.
"The path of life seems to always lead you off track. I'm surprised you found your way back."

He shrugs and smiles.
"I always do."

"Is that so...look...if you make this a habit I swear to god I will set up camp at your front door to make sure you don't wander off on the path of life ever again!"

His smile fades as he knows you aren't fibbing and would actually follow through with something as crazy as that.

Ignoring your threat he stands and reaches his hand out to you.
"Let's get going."

You grab your lunch and tuck your book into the bag then take his hand.

"Where are we going?"

He points to a field off in the distance.
"That field over there should give us enough room just in case you get all excited and explosive."

"Oh shut up! It's not even like that." You argue.

"It's exactly like that. I need to make sure our village is safe."

The way he said "our village" as if you were a part of it now was strange. You will definitely need some clarification on this.
"You mean your village..."

"No, I mean our village. You have been accepted as a kunoichi for hidden leaf village. Therefore this is your village too."

He walks towards the field with you following. Your stomach flutters with butterflies. It was so hard to believe that you have actually been accepted here as a kunoichi.

"That is the best thing you've said all week." You reply.

"Really? I thought dropping your pocket was pretty good."

Your face heats up at that embarrassing memory and you return his wit with an equally embarrassing response. "You sure it wasn't pretty eyes?"

You see his back tense as you say those words and his ears turn red.

You snicker at his silence.

"You are my student now, let's keep things simple."

Your brows knit together thinking about keeping things simple. What on earth does he mean by that? You ponder over it enough for Kakashi to spark a new conversation.

"How far have you gotten in your book?"

"Umm...chapter ten."

"Already?"

"Yup, I've been studying at night." You smile proudly.

"Is that why you're taking four hour naps everyday?" He asks, grinning from ear to ear.

You gasp.
"Just wait a hot minute." You grab his hand and begin to lay into him. "If you weren't so late I wouldn't have..." He stops you there. He places one single finger to your lips, shutting you up completely.
"Shhh...I'm just messing around, kiddo." Then he ruffles your hair.

You scowl back at him and continue to follow him towards the field.
"Kiddo?...How old do you think I am?"

"I don't know, it's hard to tell. Some days you're about twenty six or twenty seven. Other days you're about five years old."

You slap his arm.
"Oh my god, Kakashi!"

He rubs his arm complaining of how badly it hurts now.

"That did not hurt. And I am definitely not a kid."

"I know I read your file. However, if you were to compare your age with mine you would be just a kid." He explains.

"Now I'm curious as to how old you are."

He grins at you.
"Guess."

You stop him again and turn him to face you, getting a good look at his features. Although it was so hard to tell with that damn mask on.

"Take your mask off."

"Sorry, I don't take my mask off...ever..." He replies

"Bullshit! How do you eat?"

"Very creatively."

You sigh and decide to respect his privacy. At least until he really pisses you off then it's game on.
"Alright, if I had to guess your age it would be thirty two."

He bows deeply.
"Why thank you, Hana. That is very sweet of you."

You tilt your head.
"Higher?"

He points his index finger upwards.

"Ummm....thirty six?"

He motions for you to pick a higher number.

"No way! Umm...forty five?"

"Thirty nine. I'm thirty nine as of a few months ago."

"No way! You don't look it...at all. What's your secret?"

He sweeps a hand through his silver hair and winks.
"If I told you my secret then I would have to tell everyone. And we can't have everyone walking around looking as good as I do."

You laugh wholeheartedly.
"Riiiiiiiight. Is the tears from your previous students the secret ingredient?"

He bursts out laughing and continues on walking.
"Wow, you can get a bit dark Huh?"

"I'm just messing around." You say mimicking him.

He whispers something under his breath and walks on still smiling.

You both approach the shin high green grass and Kakashi leads you into the middle of the field.

"Let's sit and eat first. I see you brought lunch." He slumps down into the grass and holds out his hands eagerly towards your bag.

You swipe it away from his reach.
"Only if you're a good boy for the rest of the day."

He smiles wildly at you.
"I would do anything for the saury you make."

You laugh and sit down beside him unraveling the bag.
"I don't know how you eat this stuff."

"Why? It's really good. Have you tried it?"

"No, it's just the smell."

"You don't like fish?"

"I haven't really had it. There are not many oceans in the land of wind and very few lakes."

You hand over his container of goodies and pull out your own. Carefully placing your items out on the bag you begin to unwrap your roll up. Kakashi leans in over your shoulder.

"What's that?"

You glance back at him, noticing how close he is and his scent. Why does he have to smell so good?

"It's a burrito." You reply and take a bite. He stares at the food nearly drooling. "You going to take that mask off?"

"Nope."

"How are you going to eat then?"

"I'm finished already."

You turn to look at the food you had just placed in his hands two seconds ago and see it has magically disappeared.
You gasp.
"Did you throw it away?"

"No way! Your cooking is far too good to waste. I am just that fast....and you know I'm not that big on burritos but this one is really good."

You bring your eyes back to the burrito in your hand which Kakashi has devoured half of.

"Kakashi!"

"I couldn't help myself." He explains.

You shake your head and turn away, guarding the shit out of the rest of your lunch. How Is he so fast? You thought for sure no one could beat you in speed and he just blew your record out of the park. Maybe he was more skilled than you had originally thought. The need to know everything about this man was now second on your list of missions.

He sits quietly fiddling with a few blades of grass he had pulled out while watching the warm breeze ruffle the field around you.

Through mouthfuls you start up a conversation.
"It's really nice out here."

"Yeah it is."

"We don't have fields like this back home. It's so green out here and humid."

"Yeah...The desert is not my favorite place. Dries out my flawless skin..." he replies.

If it weren't for his witty attitude and sarcasm you would probably believe he was that vane.
"I hope I can stay here as long as possible."

He glances at you.
"What makes you think you won't?"

"Well...if I blow up the village then I will be forced to go back to my homeland."

"Yeah please don't do that."

You roll your eyes.
"I don't plan on it."

"Has something like that happened before?"

You pause for some time thinking back on some painful memories.
"Not exactly." You finish the last bite of your wrap, dust your hands off and turn to face him to tell the story.

"I had traveled a long time through the desert to get to the hidden village of rain. It was the first village on the list. I applied as a kunoichi at age seventeen and was approved. But it didn't last long, as the men there continued to harass me daily. It got really bad....I won't mention some of the things they tried to do to me..." You sigh and Kakashi listens quietly.

"After blowing them off, they set me up for failure. It was one of the most frightening experiences I have ever had. I...I don't remember much. Short visions of chaos and destruction...I lost control."

"Hmmm...men can be dangerous around certain types of girls. You won't have to worry about any of that here."

"That's good."

Kakashi stands and dusts off his pants.

"We should start our lesson before it gets too late." He holds out a hand to you and you take it pulling yourself up.

"I have a hunch your affinity leans towards the wind. We start there. This small valley provides an ample amount."

He comes before you and holds out his palm face up. "Place your hands around mine."

You do as he says and cup his hand in yours, noticing how big his one hand is in comparison.

"Close your eyes. I want you to feel this."

You close your eyes, the wind picks up around you blowing your hair in different directions and instantly you feel a buzzing developing in his hand.
"You can open your eyes now."

You open them to see a wispy white energy in his palm circling upon itself.

"Is that chakra?"

"Yes." He lets the energy go and removes his hands from yours.

"What did you feel?."

"It felt tingly. Almost like getting zapped by electricity."

He nods.
"You know the feeling now. Is it similar to what the stone feels like?"

"Not at all. The stone feels...warm...it heats my body almost like a fever."

"Hmmm...interesting. Well now that you know the difference you will be able to use them sequentially during combat."

That's great and all, but you hadn't planned on doing much combat after you've completed your chakra studies.

"About that...Can I be honest?"

He tilts his head.
"Sure."

"I don't plan on using my abilities after we're done."

His brows furrow.
"And why is that?"

"This isn't the path I wanted."

"Really? What is it you wanted to do with your life?"

You shy away from him and look out over the field.
"I have always had this dream of living in a place like this. With my own acreage and be self sustainable."

He laughs.
"So like owning a farm? You want to be a farmer?"

You begin to heat up again at his criticizing tone.

"Yes!"

He laughs harder holding his forehead, deepening the ridicule...#jerk.
"You're barely twenty and want to retire already?"

You scowl.
"So? When you've lived with this much chaos inside, finding the calm is a blessing...."

Kakashi's laugh trails off as he considers your words.
"True...alright, enough talk. Next step." He claps his hands together. "Let's draw in some energy."

You spend the next two hours practicing energy draws. It was far different experiencing it than reading it from a book. Kakashi was pleased that you had already studied up on the process and had assigned you more homework to do tonight.

Before you two went your separate ways he gave you directions to your next meeting point and you warned him not to be late or you would give his lunch away to someone else. He agreed and you said your goodbyes.
