Chapter Thirteen

Chloe’s POV

The screams roared through my head. A slight shove on my back caused me to face plant on the grimy floor. A hand was set on the back of my shirt and I was yanked to my feet. I turned around to see a familiar grin. It was Paul. The boy’s godfather….I guess he’s now their security guard, according to his shirt.

A spot light found me and I put my hands up to block the blinding radiance. I realised what my only possible solution was. RUN.

I pushed through screaming girls,one by one. They were grabbing at me, not wanting me to leave. I continued to run through the crowd and somehow, the thousands of arms managed to herd me towards the stage. I felt myself being lifted off my feet. I kicked and screamed, but they had no sympathy. I was thrown over the blockade and onto stage.

As soon as my back came in contact with the stage floor, a bucket of water was thrown on me.

I sat up, drenched in sweat, staring at four very confused boys. “What happened? I was just on…” The look Ashton gave me, told me what was going on.

It was just a dream.

“Are you okay, Chloe? We found you on the floor and you started screaming. What happened?” My cheeks flushed rosy pink as I ran my hands through my (still soap infested) hair. “I was tired and I fell asleep on the ground….long story, but I had a dream that you guys were doing a concert and you told everyone my secret.” Ashton knelt down and hugged me, even though I was dripping in sweat and my hair was filled with my favourite herbal essence shampoo. “Chloe, we would NEVER do that to you, no matter what the situation.” I smiled as he kissed my cheek.

The front door slammed on the wall behind it as footsteps sounded down the hall. We were greeted by Vanessa. Her bulging eyes worried me. “Vanessa?” She squealed.

“YOU’RE A MERMAID!” I squinted my eyes.
