Chapter Eleven

Chloe’s POV

I walked down the halls of this house that made me seem like a  stranger now, as I bragged my fingers along the picture less wall. This place holds so many delicate and fond memories, and I am letting it all go.

The dusty windows created my seasonal cold, the cheap lighting caused  me to live in the dark, and the old wooden floorboards gave me splinters time and time again. Although these things may seem terrible, there is something in each and every one of those cons that make this MY home. Well, not anymore….

“You ready?” Ashton peeked in the front door, his cheeks toasted by the sun. “Yeah, I guess so.” I sighed and grabbed the very last box. I opened the door and stopped before closing it fully. “Don’t forget me, old friend.” I shut the door and walked toward the moving truck. On the way, I stubbornly kicked the ‘FOR SALE’ sign.

I set the cardboard box in the truck and slammed the door shut. A tear trickled down my cheek as I waved good bye to the last thing I had left to remind me of the memories I’ve had with Isabel.

Ashton came to the back of the truck just in time to catch me wiping away my fallen tear and pulled me for a hug. I nuzzled my face into his chest as he kissed the top of my head.

“Come on. We’ve got a lot of unpacking to do at your new home.” He grabbed my hand and dragged me to the passenger side and lifted me into the risen seat.

The truck pulled out of the driveway and I stared at the house for as long as I could, taking my last glances before I officially didn’t own the house anymore.

“Good bye, little old brown house.”

With everything unpack, and a week living with my 3 new brother and boyfriend, I’ve learned a lot about these boys. Calum loves pizza and Luke loves ham and cheese sandwiches. I’ve seen them both eating their favourite food at least thirty times this week. I’m surprised they’re not fat! I also learnt that Michael’s natural hair colour is blond. I would have never have guessed because at this moment it’s a vibrant pink! Lastly is Ashton. I learnt that he likes to ice skate and I couldn’t help but laugh when he told me that. I mean, I can just imagine him frolicking around on the ice like a little professional and I find it, cute.

Today, the boys and I are having our first ‘family’ meal together. I got up extra early and made waffles, bacon, breakfast soup, and some of Australia’s famous, vegemite toast. Hope the boys will like that….

I chewed on my metal spoon, silently watching the boys eat their food.

Calum’s soft voice caused me to spit my spoon out of my mouth and stare at his intense orbs.

“This is so good!” Calum’s mouth was stuffed to the absolute max with waffles and bacon. I thanked him and continued eating, trying not to look at the visible food in his mouth.

I heard a choking noise and the sound of someone spitting out something. I look over to Ashton, who was spitting his veggie toast into his napkin. “Was it really that bad?” He coughed/laughed with watery eyes. “Yes!” “I don’t know what you’re talking about Ash.” I mockingly take a large bite of my vegemite toast and boasted about how yummy it was.

Luke sat quietly, smiling into his lap. “Luke?” He looked up quickly. “What are you doing?” Michael leaned over and snatched his phone out of his lap. “Awwwww. You’re texting cute little messages to Vanessa” Michael says whilst fluttering his eyes at Luke. With cheeks flushed red, he grabbed his phone back. “Annoying bastard” Luke muttered under his breath. But it was loud enough that all of us heard, and a wave of laughter broke out among us.

After breakfast, the boys had a gig at the cafe, leaving me here all alone. I decided  that it was about time to take a bath. I sat in the pool of bubbles surrounding me and let my head fall back.

The front door unlocked.

“HELLO?!?!?!?!”

SHIT!

Georgia! Not this again!
