Ever after taking in two people into his apartment room, the day went by peacefully.

Even though Rita's maid outfit was merely just a way to blend in, she acted as if she was his literal maid.

Granted she didn't do much as Alex himself is already some what of a neat freak but Rita definitely helped out when it came to cooking food for herself, Alex, and Kaitlyn.

After learning about her past, Alex knew it was super important to make Kaitlyn feel Sade under his care.

Anyways night had came and Alex was laid down on his bed after Rita and Kaitlyn had both went to sleep in one of Alex's guest rooms.

Alex wondered just how quickly his isolated life changed.

Just a few days ago he was alone.

Now he agreed to house an abused child and a pseudo maid into his apartment.

Even thinking about it more made Alex confused.

"Uni was right." He said as he lied on his side with a small smile.

"Under my introversion, I'm full of sympathy."

After that, Alex slept.

[The Next Day]

As usual, Alex immediately got dressed up and ready to head out first thing in the morning, but, right before he was able to do so, he ended up getting stopped by the maid.

"Um, Rita? I kinda gotta go."

"Your just gonna take off without a proper breakfast? That's a little unhealthy for someone as young as you."

"Rita. Health doesn't matter when I'm on the brink of death daily."

Shockingly Rita picked up Alex as if he was a feather and placed him on the couch.

"Wait here. I'll prepare breakfast so we and Kaitlyn can eat together."

"B-But."

"No buts. And before you say your boss won't like it, I called him earlier and he said he can spare you a few minutes for breakfast."

Alex was shocked that Rita not only knew HQ's number but that Bradley was allowed it to happen.

At that point he gave up on refusing.

"Fine. I'll stay."

"Wonderful. Now go wake Kaitlyn while I cook."

Rita walked into the kitchen as Alex got up and went down the hallway to the guest room the two girls were staying in.

He knocked three times. "Hey Kaitlyn. You there?"

After a bit the door opened to show Kaitlyn up and awake.

'Being up close, her scar looks even worse.' Thought Alex.

"Rita's making breakfast so she told me to fetch you so we all could eat together."

Kaitlyn smiled a bit and held onto Alex's hand leaving the room and closing the door.

Alex took this as a way of accepting so he held her hand and led her to the couch while waiting for Rita to finish.

The two children waited on the couch sitting together as they wait.

Alex could tell this was the happiest Kaitlyn had been in years.

Soon after a bit Rita called the two over as both walked over to eat.

For once Alex was on day shift as he stood on a building with binoculars looking for anything activity out of place.

At times he even questioned why he did this.

Obviously the public weren't gonna give him any credit whatsoever.

He concluded it was just for the easy money as there was really no reason to do it.

Uni once pointed out he did it cause he cared for the people but Alex immediately shot it down.

Why would he care for a nation that publicly shuns him down?

As he continued to scan the area back and forth, at first he saw nothing out of place until he looked near an alleyway and saw a random group of men dressed in black running towards it.

"Men in black running in a group to an alley? Oh yeah that's easy to know it's bad."

He put his binoculars away and immediately jumped from building to building to the area.

Right as the group entered, Alex dropped down as if he was the f*cking Batman (What a dumbass right?)

Alex looked at the group before chucking.

Alex wouldn't call himself cocky or highly confident in his skills but he knew damn well a group of thugs were nothing.

"Well boys listen! This can go one of two ways. I do my job as an Alchemist and safely detain y'all, OR, I do my job as an Assassin and kill y'all. Pick one."

The group looked at each other and thankfully for Alex, didn't pull out any weapons and wanted a pure fist fight.

"Alright Alchemist it is!"

All Alex needed to do was snap his fingers, and that he did as the alleyway was developed in flames as the group, though alive, stood no chance as they all immediately fell down defeated and passed out.

"Well, I'll call Uni to have her people handle this." He said as Alex knew this alley just happened to be next to the Lastation Basilicom.

As he prepared to walk off, he heard a faint crying sound in the alley.

"Hm? Is someone there?"

Alex immediately looked for the source of the cries he saw something between two garbage cans.

As he moved the cans apart, he saw

'A girl?' Thought Alex.

She looked pretty roughed up and dirty.

One thing he did notice was her extra appendages.

She had a cat tail curled up in fear and one cat ear with blood covering the spot where her other ear would've been.

Alex immediately went to work wrapping her head where the missing bloody spot is with bandages and transmutted a single fake neko ear headband and placed it on her head.

The girl was shocked before immediately crying and hugging Alex tightly.

Alex smiled and gentky hugged her back.

"It's okay. Your safe now."

She nodded slowly and eventually calmed down before separating to look at Alex.

"Now, why're you here?"

"I-I, ran way from a missing. A.W.O.L. They, chased me so I hid here. T-Thank you, for saving me."

"Hey hey. No need to thank me. I was just doing my job. Anyways, my name's Alex. Alex Mustang."

"I'm, Jackie. Jackie C. Black."

At that name, Alex froze up.

"Y-You mean THE Jackie C. Black?"

"Y-Yes. Why ask?"

At that moment Alex only had one thing on his mind.

'WHY'S THE LEADER OF THE BLACK JACKS HERE!?'
