Alex had managed to sleep well enough for the rest of the night.

Thankfully the book had stayed quiet so it helped as well.

Morning had come and Alex went down to the living room and just dresses and stuck a piece of bread to munch on.

"You could at least spare time to cook and great a proper breakfast." Said the Admin Book.

"I can cook. I just don't cause I gotta be at work first thing."

"Your boss can't be that strict."

"He is. We respect him when no one truly understands him."

"What's that mean?"

"Something you won't get."

"Child!"

Alex was caught off guard by now sudden that response once.

"W-What?"

"Sorry sorry! Force of habit. My apologizes."

"I-It's okay."

Alex bid Admin Book goodbye and left the apartment room.

As he walked to HQ, he as usual caught many glares aimed at his direction.

Alex being Alex though just ignored them.

He's used to this being an occurrence and if anything he'd prefer this than getting on a train and he crowded with the people.

Growing up even in the slums, Alex was always a heavily introverted child. He never really showed any emotion to anyone due to the constant abuse he got from his father for even showing an ounce of it.

Even after the massacre, Alex showed massive introversion to everyone. Uni had become the first since Alex's mother to break past his introversion and see his true feelings.

It wasn't really Alex's fault he was raised this way.

He was abused and raised to not show emotion or remorse so he just stick with it.

Anyways enough with that monologue, Alex finally made it to HQ.

Break was here so Alex decided to hang around the city for now until he was called back.

Alex could've gone to see Uni but she was busy and there was no way in hell Noire was gonna let him take Uni during work hours.

So Alex was stuck on his own.

Not that he didn't mind it though.

He could afford time to himself once in a while.

So he walked along within the city just minding his own business.

'If the people didn't hate me, I'd be able to enjoy the city more than I actually do.' He thought to himself.

All the hateful glares from earlier were gone as mostly everyone was busy working third dead end jobs so he had plenty of joyfulness for now.

Though all of a sudden, Alex bumped into something by accident.

He fell down with a thud and groaned.

"S-Sorry. I wasn't looking."

Alex opened his eyes to see who he bumped into.

This girl, no, child looked young.

If Alex had to estimate, she was probably a year younger than him.

"L-Let me help you." As Alex got up to help her up, he was immediately shoved away by another person.

"Next time, be more aware you brat."

Alex immediately sensed a negative tone in his voice.

"Calm down. I was just gonna help pick your daughter up."

Alex knew it was rude to assume the child was the man's child but it made the next sense. And thankfully he was correct.

"My daughter doesn't need help from a commoner. Isn't that right Kaitlyn?"

The young girl now identified as Kaitlyn slowly nodded as she got up.

The old man scoffed at Alex.

"You should take more care when walking all willy nilly in the city. Might bump into someone important."

"Someone important?" Alex chuckled. "Then BOY am I glad to say, I don't know who the flying 'eff you are." Said Alex trying to emphasize all of his sarcasm.

It didn't get a reaction from the man though.

"A commoner like you isn't expected to know who I am. Either way, I'll enlighten you. I'm Otto Apocalypse. The Overseer/Leader of Schicksal and this is my daughter, Kaitlyn Apocalypse."

"Pleasure to be of your acquaintance. I'm Alex Mustang. An assassin/state alchemist at Black Ops HQ."

"Black Ops? So. You work for "him"?"

"Sounds like you and Führer Bradley have history together."

"We do. But I don't have time for pointless squabbling. Come one Kaitlyn. We're leaving."

Otto turned around as Alex noticed Kaitlyn followed with a somber and somewhat afraid look.

'Something's wrong with that dynamic. I can tell.' Thought Alex.

Alex then realised that ENTIRE talk had wasted more than half of his time on break as he groaned and grumpily walked back, not knowing someone had watched that conversation just now.

[TimeSkip: Back at Alex's Apartment Room]

Alex was already deeply settled and comfortable in his apartment room after work as he just laid down on the couch.

Hours had passed since work and he really didn't wanna do anything else which is something that the Admin book noticed.

"Your a lot like Ms. Admin herself."

"Ms. Admin? You mean your book holder?"

"Precisely. Being an Admin means she has to constantly check if the flow of time is perfectly in balance. It gets so stressful that she'll literally just pass out on any soft surface she sees."

"Wow. That sounds a lot like me."

"See? Now you should understand why I call you Ms. Admin's child."

"Say that one more time and I'll purposely make you lost again."

"Your such a child."

"Eh shut it ya damn piece of literature."

"And such vulgar language at this young age."

"Again. Shut it."

"How would your mother think of this Alex Mustang?"

"My MOTHER'S DEAD!" Alex said as he himself was suprised that he snapped.

Before Admin even had a chance to respond, a knock was heard.

"S-Shit! Must be the neighbor telling me to shut it."

"Incorrect actually. It's not a neighbor." Said Admin.

"What?"

Alex walked to the door and opened it to reveal

'A, maid?'

Alex was super confused and Admin snickered.

"My my Alex. I didn't know you had those kind of tastes."

"I-I don't! I never even called or ordered a maid! More importantly!"

Alex calmed down and looked at the maid guest.

"Who are you?"

The maid bowed first then stood up.

"Pleasure to meet you Alex Mustang. My name's Rita Rossweisse."

"Nice to meet you Rita. Now, why're you here?"

"I have a request from you. It's highly important so I beg you accept it."

"This is already going a little too far. What the hell even is this reqeust?"

"W-Well."

Rita stepped aside and showed Otto's daughter, Kaitlyn walk into his room.

"W-Why' she here!?" Alex asked suddenly being alarmed.

Rita took a second to reply.

"Alex. Please. Take care of Kaitlyn."
