Then I saw him . . . Sitting at the center of the cafe, with a black cat on his crossed legged lap, while sipping on a small cup of green tea. A smirk made its way to his lips, and that was when I took notice that his emerald eyes were locked on mine. I swiftly broke my gaze, before looking back at Minho, who had his eyes set on his strawberry-short-cake. "Are you nervous Yuna?" he asked worriedly, rubbing my belly, and leaving me to reply with a small", meow."
That was when a familiar figure slumped into the chair cross Minho. It was the same man I had seen on the streets talking to his old father. "Alex, it's about time you came," Minho laughed, shaking hands with his friend, before sitting back into his seat.
"New pet, or cafe's?" Alex amusingly asked, fixed the black tie of his suit, and placing his leather, brown suitcase next to his chair.
" Neh, I just keep meeting this furry ball, nearly everywhere I go."
"Guessing you blessed a cat before? "
"Blessed a cat?"
"Yeah, like taking good care of it, and making it love you unconditionally!"
"Well I did have a cat a few years ago, but she passed away sadly. . ."
* * *
The day had gone by faster after that, with me glaring at Satan from my seated position on Minho's lap twenty-four-seven, and hissing at any other cat that tried to take my land of comfort. Aside from the negatives, I was able to get myself a few nice treats from Minho, but he seemed to give his friend Alex way more of his attention.
"What are you glaring at?" I jumped at Satan's hushed voice against my sensitive ears, and curled up close to the old cushion from my previous life.
Right now, I was back at Minho's place, in the living room, while he slept in his own bedroom. . . And unsurprisingly Satan had followed us the whole way back. "Why are you here again?" I asked once shifting into my human form, with a sour expression.
But the demon seemed to ignore my question, and his eyes seemed to linger to my left, his smile fading, and replaced with a thin line. "What happened to your neck?" he asked, reaching out, and touching it, which instantly burned at the contact.
I jumped to my feet, and leaped away from him, as the burning sensation and stinging on the nape of my neck stretched to the side. The feeling from before ached me even more; seeming to spread, and found myself digging my nails into my skin, hoping that it would no longer burn . . . but the pain only continued. I staggered backwards, and felt sweat drip from my forehead, as I heard faint hissing sounds near my ear. "Yuna! Curse that stupid Mammon" Satan hissed under his breath, shaking my shoulders in alarm, before shifting his eyes to my neck. " I need you to remove your hand."
He looked around frantically, and made me bite on a small handkerchief to slightly muffle my screams, before slowly removing my hand. Only to let out a faint gasp. What was there? Why was he making such a concerned expression?
As more questions clouded my mind, my brain become fuzzy, and the burning sensation ran down my collarbone. It was killing me . . . Someone . . . Anyone . . . Stop it! With every breath it became harder to breathe, and soon I found myself leaning forward; resting my head on Satan's shoulder for support, as he chanted a spell unfamiliar to me. Words rolled out his tongue so smoothly, that I could have sworn some were foreign to my ears, and when I slightly pulled away, I caught sight of them again . . . his eyes radiating an odd, emerald color that seemed to urge my weakened soul into their deep, green abyss. As predicted, I could not read his aura at all, which made me feel completely oblivious to want could happen. Why can I not read his aura? How is he insensible of this? It seemed the more I thought the more I lost control of what I am, but I was probably not the only one, who thought so too.
That was when I heard it again, the hissing of something near my ear. It was faint, but there. I could not move to look at it. I was too captivated by the fascinating, jade eyes before me. They seemed so full yet hollow as if unable to fill their desires on their own, and were willing to wait for a millennia for their salvation. The side of my neck tingled, nearly ticklish, and my body stiffened. It was like diving to a lake, unaware of what might lurk underneath. "Why are you scared?" he voice was hushed, and exotic, yet peculiarly had a hint of gentleness hidden underneath.
I somehow felt like I was opening a mystery box with several locks. Who was he really? Could there be something about the demon world that I had turned a blind eye to all these eyes? The longer I stared into those eyes, the more conflicted secrets I felt were hidden. So much confusion, misunderstanding, self-frustration . . . Anger. They were hiding down there, trying so hard not to unleash their wrath on everything around them. . . Just like a . . . Child. I wanted to know more . . . More. A chill ran down my back, as I felt the demon's arm snake around my waist, and steadily tug me closer to him, a bit possessive. "Yuna," the way my name rolled out of his lips, made me ease, as his eyes trailed to my lips. " Can you really hate me, after this?"
With me staring down at the green abyss of his eyes, it certainly felt that I was really falling into them, that my mind became oblivious to what was happening around me. . . Until the distance between our bodies were closed. I was left light headed, with my lips barely parted. A ghost of a smile crossed his lips, as he lifted himself, and pressed a his lips on my cheek. Warm, fuzzy emotions rose inside inside me, but my mind tried to resist. My hesitation seemed to only urge him to sink me deeper into his troubled soul.
My senses come back to life, and Satan's body instantly loosened upon closing his eyes; leaning forward; resting his head on my shoulder. A sense of déjà vu washed over me, as I took quick breaths to regain my mental consciousness. Could he really be unaware of his actions, and sudden mood swings? But it seemed a bit more different than before! Before I could fully adapt, the sound to shuffling from Minho's room ringed the alarm bells in my brain. I found myself barely-being able to drag the demon's heavy body into the small storage room, and swiftly shoved him inside, and closed the door, before he could fall out. Click .
Swiftly, I shifted back into a calico-cat, and scurried back to my sleeping place, just when I took notice of Minho's silhouette limply walking through-the living room, and to the kitchen; before returning to his room after a few seconds. Leaving me to think over what had just happened, and what to do with the passed out demon in the house's storage room.
