92 Days

"Please? With cherries on top and whipped cream?" I begged my best friend, Luke.
We were in my boring blue room chatting. I was sitting on my bed begging Luke to help me out, while he sat on a chair by my desk in all of his glory hotness.
He huffed a breath in defeat. "Fine. When do you want to start?"
"Omg, thanks." I fling myself out of my bed and hug him.
"Yeah. You sure you still want to do this?" He asks for what feels like the millionth time.
Even after hearing the totally-out-of-this-world story, Luke still doesn't believe it or something like that.
The totally to-good-to-be-true story happened on a normal day.I was in the girls bathroom actually doing bathroom stuff, when my friend Riley rushed in screeching like a dying pig: I honest don't get why girls screech so much. Anyways, in between squeals, Riley was able to tell me that she heard from Jessica, who heard from Jenna, who heard from Stacey, who heard from Layla, who heard from her boyfriend that Jake might actually like like me!
Jake was a popular and beautiful, well liked guy. He dated pretty and short girls.
I was pretty short at 5"1, my face was average: ruler straight shoulder length black hair, cute cherry nose with freckles, dark chocolate eyes, a big mouth, oh yeah, and a fat body.
I figured Jake probably liked my face enough, so I wasn't going to change that. But my body I could change, and would change it. I made that decision yesterday.
"Totally." I smile confidently.
"Alright then, what's the plan?"
"I want to loose at least ten pounds before The New Year's dance, but I can't do it on my own. So you're gonna train me. Simple." It was late September right now, meaning I had about 92 days to make this plan reality.
"Alright then." Luke gets up, side hugs me and then heads out the door but not before saying, "We start tomorrow."
******
Day one: Luke woke me up at the unholy hour of 10am and dragged my butt to the gym. He tried to make me run a whole flippin' mile! AT 10 AM!
The key word in what I just said is tried, because I actually didn't run a mile, I got about as far as a halfway, then quit.
Miracles don't happen overnight Luke!
Day 21: The past few weeks have been torturous for me, but I'm really proud to say that I can finally run a mile with only a little bit of dying, and that's mostly towards the end.
Yeah me! *Cue clapping*
I've lost a total of no pounds but that's ok, for now.
Also, Luke tried to get me to do a full body workout with him, not just the cardio part.
I told him no. Cardio is hard enough as it is, plus I hate doing extra work.
Day 41: I'm extremely happy to say that I can run a mile without batting an eyelash. Through pretty much anyone could after practicing for a month, I'm still impressed with myself for making it this far.
I finally gave into Luke's adorable puppy dog brown eyes today and did a full body workout with him.
It was hell on earth.
Literally. By the end of the workout, I was drenched in sweat and sore like... something extremely sore.
Worst part of all? Luke claimed that was the easiest full body workout. The only bright side to this day was watching Luke do curl-ups shirtless.
Day 61: In honor of finishing the second month of Simple, -Luke named it, not me- he surprised me with an ice cream date.
Ok. So it wasn't really a date, but it was pretty close to that. Like Luke paid for my ice cream and we walked on the beach, not holding hands or anything, just talking about nothing and at the same time everything.
Day 91: I've managed to loose six pounds. It's not as much as I wanted to lose at first, but I'm ok with that. I'm so ok with it that I've started questioning why I invented plan Simple.
Over the past months I've had so much fun working out with Luke, that I kinda forgot what I was aiming for in the first place until Luke brought it up as we were doing our last workout this morning.
This made me extremely sad.
I know. I'm surprised too, but honestly? I'm really going to miss waking up at unholy hours, eating disgusting green food, working out, and most of all, spending time with Luke.

"Wow!" Riley hugs me when I enter her beach house. The New's party is in full swing with music blasting through the speakers, people dancing, and others shouting to hear each other.
I giggle and hug her back, trying to be enthusiastic. But failing, and it's not because Jake didn't ask me to the dance, it's something else, yet I can't name it until I see Luke talking with his entourage of girls. All of a sudden I feel like puking my guts or better yet? Slapping away the ugly claws of the girls touching Luke.
I'm gotten so used to having him all to myself the past couple of months, that seeing him with those real life Barbies makes me feel mixed feelings.
Before I make a fool of myself by acting on those same feelings, I run out the back door. Standing on Riley's wooden balcony, I breath in the cool night air and try to calm down.
I've finally calmed down enough, and I'm about to head back inside when I hear his voice. He says, "You ok?" I can feel him behind me without even turning around.
For the first time in my whole fifteen years of existence, I don't know what to say back. I'm speechless.
"I'll take that as a yes then." He inches closer to me until his front is basically pressed against my back.
I don't move a muscle as I try to breathe in evenly. Deciding to be completely honest, I start off with, "Inside, when I saw you with all those girls around you?"
"Yeah?"
"For some strange reason, I wanted to beat the crap out of them."
I can almost hear the smile in his voice when he says, "Wow..." Turning me around, Luke leans his forehead on mine. "Never would have taken you for the violent type."
I say nothing in turn, just tilt my head up and looking into his beautiful eyes.
"What to know a secret?" He whispers, his face inches from mine.
No. Not really. I just want you to kiss me.
"Of course." In the background, people have started counting down from 10.
"If our positions had been reserved, I wouldn't have hesitated to kick some ass." His words make my heart melt a little, but what really does it for me is when he places his lips on mine as the party people shout five.
I easily mute the noise out as I slip my arms around his neck, kissing him back hard.
He wraps his arms tightly around my waist, easily lifting me up onto the railing. "Happy New Year." He manages to mumble in between kisses.
And oh boy, is he right!
