Just then, a pixelated  sword appeared in front of the screen. It was all sparkly, and the blue blade seemed to glow. The handle of the sword left a trail of pixels as if it was glitched or disintegrating. Big words began to appear which read,

AS YOU WALK ALONG THE FOREST, YOU OBSERVE A WILLOW TREE FULL OF TINY FAIRIES, THEY SEEM TO BE OBLIV...

 Suddenly, the door to my dorm room bursted open, and Meg came through running towards her bed, falling face first down on her pillow, she relieved a sigh then turned around to look at me,

 "You actually bought that." She commented with a slight chuckle.

 "Yeah, why wouldn't I? I just started like a minute ago so I havn't really gotten that far..." I replied. 

 "One day, I'm gonna quit this job." she started, haha, this isn't the first time you told yourself that... I thought. "After you left, some lady showed up and asked for a..." I sort of ignored the rest, then continued playing the game.

YOU ASK THEM WHICH DIRECTION THE LOCAL TOWN OF ODYSSEY IS HEADED...BUT THEY SHARE A ROUND OF LAUGHTER.

 "HAHAH..." Said one of the fairies, "SO YOU WANT TO GO TO ODYSSEY YOU SAY..."

 "And as if I know that much about video games, I mean I barely even know if Zelda's the guy in the green hat!" Meg continued.

 "That's Link."

 "Yeah, whatever, so then I asked the manager what the heck she was talking about, and it..." blah blah blah blah blah...

 "FOLKS LIKE YOU DON'T USUALLY LAST THAT LONG IN THE FOREST." The fairy continued. "BUT THERE IS ONE THING YOU NEED TO REMEMBER WHEN VENTURING OUT IN TO THE WOODS... YOU MUST-"

 "And then that cute guy I told you about got involved somehow, which I don't even..." 

 "NOW THAT YOU ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF WHAT SURROUNDS US, YOU CAN GO OFF IN SEARCH FOR THE DISTANT LAND, JUST BE CAREFUL, HUMAN." Then all of the fairies flew away, leaving me alone in the forest. I continued walking forward, exploring more of the virtual world.

 "It's all just- arghhhhh- I need to take a break. And the worst part is that I need to do this every single day! It's ridiculous! But I can't get another job! huuuuuuhhhhhooooh my God." Meg started to rub her eyes from lack of sleep. 

 "That sucks." I quietly replied. It was probably the 80th time I have heard her rants about work, and my responses are always the same. Meg turned around towards me, then got up from her bed and walked closer and then sat on the chair beside me. 

 "Sooo, what's happening now?" 

 "Right now, I'm walking around the woods, doing absolutely nothing. I'm still waiting for some kick-ass-" Just before I was about to finish my sentence, the screen turned to black and a bunch of numbers showed up, resembling points, and five hearts appeared on the top left corner, it looked like as if I was in a fight scene. And I was absolutely right. A huge monster appeared out of thin-air and intense music started playing, and for some reason, I started getting in the zone. After years of collecting super rare pokémons, I'm pretty sure I can handle whatever this is. The creature was like a dragon, but had lion paws and it's eyes were glowing like a torch. Finally... I thought ...Some sword-wielding action...

 "Okay, I'm bored." Meg got up from her chair then walked towards the door. "Come meet me and Alfie at the student cafeteria." Then the door slammed shut.

 IT SEEMS LIKE YOU HAVE ENCOUNTERED A FOREST DEMON... ONE OF THE MOST FEARED BY THE CREATURES WHO INHABIT THIS PLACE...PRESS 'CONTINUE'

A FOREST DEMON IS A HALF DRAGON HALF LION HYBRID WHICH ONLY HIDES IN THE TREES AT NIGHT. BUT TODAY... IT SENSES A NEW PREY...AND VERY FEW CAN AVOID THE CLUTCHES OF THE JAWS OF THESE DANGEROUS MONSTERS...IT IS NOW COMING FOR YOU...YOU MUST DEFEAT THE FOREST DEMON WITH YOUR SPECIAL WEAPON...

 Just then, the Legendary Crystal Sword magically appeared in my grasp and I was now swinging the sword with the 'A' and 'S' keys. Since it was my first fight, I assumed this would be an easy round, right? Wrong. The 'Forest Demon' immediately began to strike me with it's gigantic claws, knocking me down, my body flashing with the colour red, I quickly got back up and went for a jumping sword attack. I pressed the upwards arrow key then thrusted my sword down on the creature's skull, pixelated cubes splatter around the scene, but then it restored it's power, and began to stir up something inside it's stomach, making it glow orange. I dashed towards the side to take cover, but it was too late for a blow of firey hot flame came out of the Demon's breath, knocking my health down from 8 to 2. I suddenly felt a stab of embarrassment piercing through my chest, I couldn't let it win, not that easily. I swung my sword one more time, blocking it's claw attack. It's paws dissolved into pixels, losing its hand. But that wasn't enough...its health was still at 6 and I was going out fast. The monster was now hovering over me, and just as it was about to ultimately kill me, I stabbed it in the chest. It gave out an uncomfortable high-pitched shriek and started to completely dissolve. I wasn't surprised at my victory, once again, for I almost thought I would lose to a beginner level fight. I gave myself a sigh and wiped my forehead, I leaned back on my chair, then my heart nearly skipped a beat when I saw that the monster's health was at 1. It was still alive. It began to regain itself again, making it's last blow to take me out. It was either me, or them. And I was prepared to take out my sword. Before I realized I was too late, a cord wrapped around its neck, choking it, then ultimately making its head explode, along with the rest of its body. As the body disintegrated, I saw someone standing behind it. It was another human like me.

          !! YOU WIN!! BUT NOT IF IT WASN'T FOR 'CAROLLERXX' WHO HAD USED HER ATTACK TO SAVE YOU FROM THE 'FOREST DEMON'... OPEN CHAT TO INTERACT WITH OTHER HUMANS ON THEIR JOURNEY JUST LIKE YOURS. 

(CAROLLERXX): IM IMPRESSED WITH YOUR BATTLING SKILLS, YOU GOT IT DOWN TO 1 ON YOUR FIRST TRY, PRETTY OUTSTANDING FOR A NOOB. 

 I flinched at the word.

(ROWEN_Y): THANKS, IT ISN'T REALLY THE FIRST TIME I PLAYED A GAME LIKE THIS, SO I WOULDN'T REALLY CONSIDER MYSELF AS A 'NOOB'.

(CAROLLERXX): AHH, A VIDEO GAME EXPERT I SEE...BUT IN A WAY, THIS GAME REALLY ISN'T LIKE ANY OTHER IS IT?

(ROWEN_Y): I GUESS YOU COULD SAY THAT, HAHA BUT I WOULDN'T CALL MYSELF AN EXPERT EITHER, THAT THING GOT ME DOWN TO 3.

(CAROLLERXX): OTHERS NEVER EVEN GOT TO DEFEAT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! THAT WON'T BE A TROUBLE FOR LONG THOUGH.

'CAROLLERXX' GAVE YOU A 'HEART'... NOW YOU GAINED A LIFE POINT. I guess this was the interactive part of things, this person seemed pretty generous to lend me a heart, I gave a faint smile to myself.

(ROWEN_Y): THANKS! I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD DO THAT. OTHERWISE I PROBABLY WOULD'VE HAD TO WAIT 24 HOURS TO GAIN FULL LIVES.

(CAROLLERXX): THE CONCEPT OF THIS GAME WAS TO INTERACT AND GET ALONG WITH OTHERS FROM ACROSS THE WORLD, BONDING RATHER THAN HATING. IT'S A COOL CONCEPT, REALLY, ASIDE FROM DEFEATING MONSTERS AND KICKING THEIR BUTTS :P

(ROWEN_Y): AND HOW WOULD YOU KNOW ALL OF THAT?

(CAROLLERXX): I'M THE CREATOR'S DAUGHTER.

 I choked on my spit. Her dad couldn't have been the creator of this game.

(ROWEN_Y): NO WAY, YOU'RE LYING. YOUR DAD CAN'T BE THE CARTER MASTERSON.

(CAROLLERXX): YOU DON'T HAVE TO BELIEVE ME. CAROLINE MASTERSON THATS MY NAME. 22 AND STILL LIVING IN MY PARENTS' BASEMENT. NICE TO MEET YOU.
