Harry's POV:

I couldn't sleep, no matter how much I tried, I couldn't. I had let go of Draco's hand some time ago and he moved away from me. Andy had left once Remington was asleep, telling me to get some rest too and that everything would be okay but I didn't know why I couldn't shake the weird feeling that I was missing something, that something was missing.

I've seen every since teacher except for Lupin.

"I've done the dungeons,Headmaster. No sign of Black.Nor anywhere else in the castle." Snape's voice was heard entering the Great Hall.

"I didn't really expect him tolinger." Dumbledore spoke softly.

"Remarkable feat, don't you think? To enter Hogwarts castle on one'sown, completely undetected..." Snape pressed. "You may recall, prior to the start of term, I did express my concerns when you appointed Professor -" Snape was cut off by Dumbledore.

"I do not believe a singleprofessor inside this castlewould have helped SiriusBlack enter it, Severus." Dumbledore came closer, I could feel them getting closer as the hairs on my neck stood. Snape thinks Lupin let Sirius Black inside the castle.

"No... I feel quite confident thecastle is safe. And I'm more thanwilling to let the students return to their Houses. But tomorrow. For now, let them sleep...It's astonishing what the body canendure when the mind allows itselfto rest."

I couldn't help but feel odd. Why is everything happening like this.

"And Potter? Shouldn't he be warned?"

"Perhaps...but for tonight, let him sleep."

My body went stiff. What about me? What is going on and why am I involved?

"What villains are these that trespass upon my private lands!"

The Fat Lady has been replaced by a painting of a tiny knight, Sir Cadogan. Stalking a bare stretch of grass as his pony grazes nearby, he brandishes his sword wildly as a group of Gryffindors regard him warily.

"Who dares challenge Sir Cadogan!Back, you scurvy braggarts! Yourogues!"

"He's barking mad!" Seamus shouted

"What d'you expect? After whathappened to the Fat Lady, none ofthe other pictures would take thejob." Dean mumbled.

"But he keeps changing thepassword. Twice just thismorning! I've taken to keeping alist."  As Neville holds up a wrinkled piece of parchment, Me, Ron, and Hermione exit.

"Farewell, comrades! If ever you have need of noble heart and steely sinew, call upon SirCadogan!"

"Yeah, we'll call you... if we everneed someone mental." Ron groaned.

We all walk to class, Draco stood by the door with a smile. I smiled back and walked in with him, sitting down in a seat close to the back. The room had all of the desks back in their places which was odd. Lupin was more of a hands on type of person, not a sit and read. Andy too.

Just then, the door slams close and Snape comes through the path of desks, waving his wand to close each of the windows. One by one, they each close, causing the room to get darker and darker by the second.

Once he reaches the front, he pulls a screen down and turns to us. He looked over at me and Draco and motioned Draco to move seats. Draco did, switching seats with Remington. Remington looked upset and slightly confused.

"Turn to page 394."

We all eye Snape with guarded curiosity, Draco scrawling something on a bit of parchment and balls it up in his hands. As he opens them, a moth flutters from his palms.

"Excuse me, sir, but... where's Professor Lupin?" I ask.

"That's not really your concern, isit, Potter? Suffice it to say, your Professor finds himselfincapable of teaching at the present time. Page 394."

Snape waves the moth away, blows out a candle and a slide show begins. An ancient woodcut of a horrific beats flickers at the front of the room. Ron frowns down at his book.

"Werewolves?"

"But, sir, we've only just begunlearning about Red Caps andHinkypunks. We're not meant tostart nocturnal beasts forweeks -" Hermione speaks.

"Quiet!" Snape shouted and everyone went quiet.

"When did she come in? Did you seeher come in..." Ron whispered to me.

"Now. Which of you can tell me thedifference between an Animagus and a werewolf?"  As the class stares mutely at a slide of an attacking werewolf, Hermione waiting desperately for someone to respond to Snape's question, the moth flutters by me. I pin it to my desk. A tiny cloud of moth dust mushrooms into the air and I lift my palm. Draco's Parchment was now in my hand.

"No one? How... disappointing."

"Please, sir, an Animagus is a wizard who elects to turn into an animal. A werewolf has no choice in the matter. Furthermore, the werewolf actively hunts humans and responds only to the call of its own kind -"

Draco let out a low howl.

"Quiet, Malfoy! Though one mustadmit to feeling your pain. Thatis the second time you have spokenout of turn, Miss Granger. Tellme. Are you incapable ofrestraining yourself? Or do youtake pride in being aninsufferable know-it-all?"

I stared at the parchment. Malfoy had drawn a caricature of me in my Quidditch robes winning the game and hearts all over. A smaller drawing of us kissing was in the corner. Remington rapidly tapped my shoulder as Snape came to behind us.

"Five points from Gryffindor!" Snape shouted. "As a antidote to your ignorance, Iprescribe two rolls of parchmenton the werewolf by Monday morning, with particular emphasis placed onrecognizing it." As I fold the drawing, Snape snapped to me. "Passing notes, Potter?"

Snape snatches the drawing from under my nose. He eyes it.

"Not exactly Picasso, are you? Ihope you demonstrate more talenton the Quidditch pitch thisweekend then you do as an artist." He then eyed Draco and sighed. "If not, I fear you'll perish, given the weather forecast. Untilthat time, however, you'll forgiveme if I don't let you offhomework. Should you die, Iassure you... you need not hand itin."

As Snape turns away, Draco sniggers with Crabbe, Coyle and Blaise. After the class ended, I whisper over to Remington. "If Lupin wasn't here, why didn't Andy teach? It's his class..."

"I don't know. I haven't talked to him since yesterday. I'm not really keen on talking to him anyway."

"What?"

"Don't worry, we're fine. Just- he's being annoying right now."

I sighed and looked at Draco. He motioned for the door and I nod. "Well...let's go. You have to cheer for me today."

Remington laughed softly and nods. "Let's go."
