JIN's POV

Joonie and I were seated beside his bed. He was reading a novel while I read Jungkook's ever steady face.

I was quietly staring at him when I felt a cold breeze touch my bare face.

My eyes diverted towards the source and found the window wide open. I went and closed it.

On coming back, I pulled the warm sheets up on Jungkook which made Joonie distracted and look at my actions.

RM : Hyung, shall I increase the heater's temperature?

ME : (-sitting back on my stool-) No, it's okay. Let it be. (-gently stroking Kookie's hair-) He is fine.

Joonie nodded and was absorbed back into his book as there formed the silence again.

I noticed a tear escape by the side of Jungkook's closed eyes.
Getting a tissue, I gently dabbed the corner of his eyes to wipe it.

{... Is he crying?...}

Shaking off the meaningless thoughts, I decided to listen to some soft music.

But, as I stood up to get my phone, the corner of my eyes saw some changes in Kookie's face vaguely making me look at him instantly.

ME : Joon-ah! He is...

RM : (-looking at me immediately-) What's wrong, hyung?

ME : Look at him. I think he is coming back to his senses. His eye lids just quivered a little.

I promptly looked at his hand and held it lightly with mine.

{... You can do it, Jungkookie. Come on~...}

With a few more seconds, he slightly opened his eyes and closed back immediately because of the intensity of the light.

My eyes watered and I firmed my grip on his hand.

He blinked a few times before opening his eyes half-way- the most he could open.

ME : (-softly-) Jungkook-ah~

He didn't sound anything but just blinked as if he was trying to respond through his eyes.

RM : I will bring the doctors.

I nodded to him but never took my eyes off from Jungkook, even for second while Joonie left the room to call them.

His waking up was no less than a miracle. It made me believe that miracles do happen. My heartbeat was fast, I was smiling in ebullience.

ME : Can you recognize me?

He blinked again and moved his head slightly into a nod. Normally one wouldn't be able to tell that but I could see even the slightest movements he made.

The doctors came no seconds later and checked him while I and Joonie waited outside the room.

ME : We should inform the boys.

RM : Yeah, wait lemme call Jiminie.

I nodded while he dailed.

RM : (-taking on the call-) Okay then, you two come. We will inform him. (-ends the call-)

ME : What happened?

RM : Taehyung is with him. They are already here. But Hobi is in the dorm.

ME : Alright. I will call him.

As soon as I looked at the screen of my phone, the doctors came out.

RM : Is he alright, doctor?

DOCTOR : He is, for now. We are running a few tests. Reports will speak. Also, don't let him take too much stress. He just woke up from the coma. He will need time to bring himself back to normal.

RM : (-nodding-) Thank you, doctor.

We bowed and he left. Jimin and Taehyung too arrived in the meantime.

TAEHYUNG : What did the doctor say?

Joonie answered him and the three of them went inside while I stayed back to call Hobi.

Few moments later, after the call as I walked to the door to go in, Jimin opened it and came out.

ME : What's wrong?

JIMIN : Hyung, it's time for me to do my job.

I nodded knowing what he referred to and let him go.

Going in, I saw Taehyungie talking to Jungkook very enthusiastically while Joonie stood there with a small smile.

ME : Did you inform his parents? (-asking Joonie-)

RM : Yes, I did. They said, they were coming from Busan(they went back last night for some work). They were already on the way here but will still take an hour to reach Seoul.

I nodded and sat on the other side of the bed.

With a half an hour's wait, Hobi came in making us all look at his direction.

He stood near the door and seeing Kookie conscious, he immediately broke in tears.

He managed to walk to us and held Kookie's hand on my side.

HOBI : Kookie-ah, thanks for making it alive. I am really sorry I couldn't visit you for the past few weeks.

He stopped talking further but kept weeping. Three of us didn't say a word and silently heard his cries. We all had wet eyes as that reminded us of the night he cried at SuSan-ssi's grave.

Just like his smile was contagious and would make anybody smile, his cries had no less affect on the listener.

I dabbed his shoulders giving him a side hug and noticed Kookie's eyes water too. With all the strength he had, he lightly clenched Hobi's hand which he was already holding.

JUNGKOOK : (-breathy voice-) H-hyung~

He said only one word and it was muffled because of his oxygen mask. But it was a word we would get no matter how unclear he said it.
We were longing so bad to hear "hyung" in his voice that it made us all fulfilled finally hearing it.

HOBI : (-controlling himself-) Onh, onh. Don't try too hard. I am fine just seeing you awake.

We were then interrupted by his parents as they came in. They indeed reached in an hour as they said.

Few Days later

Today finally Jungkook could sit inclining to the bed and didn't need any oxygen mask. He was recovering fast.

But he couldn't walk or move his lower body. Doctor's said his lower body has gone to paralysis due to shock.

They are hoping it to be temporary and by the amazing progress he showed, they were positive that he will be able to walk again soon with the help of appropriate physio therapies.

Now, the hospital didn't allow anyone to stay and we could only meet him in the visiting hours.

So we were here, I, Joonie, Taehyungie and Hobi, but there was pin drop silence. Jungkook spoke feeling the need to break it. 

JUNGKOOK : I am sorry hyung. I worried you all so much. (-sadly-)

RM : No kook-ah, we are sorry. We couldn't imagine, we made it so hard for you to bear.

There was cold silence again. Five of us were present under the same roof and in one room together yet none of us uttered a word. When did we become so awkward—was a question I found myself asking.

Everytime one of us tried to make a conversation, we had to think about topics to do so unlike past.

HOBI : What happened to Jiminie? He didn't come back to dorm nor to here ever since Jungkook woke up.

TAEHYUNG : Exactly. He isn't taking any calls too. He waited for Kookie to wake up so bad and now he is missing.

Only I had the answer to their questions but I couldn't just tell it yet.

ME : It must be hard for him to come. Let's just give him some time. He will come back when he is okay.

And that was the end of the conversation as everyone agreed to me and sealed their mouths again. 

Everyone had a thousand words to sound but were unable to think a way to do so.

In the next moment, the door slid making us all look at that direction.
