Chapter 7: Vanity
Kim Seokjin, the eldest of the brothers, was an intriguing person to be around. His bold presence could be felt within a mile radius, and he truly had the voice of an angel (despite being the exact opposite).
On my way to the kitchen one morning, I walked past his room. The soft sound of a piano flowed past the closed doors from the cracks between them, filling my ears with its melancholy tone. Then I heard it, his voice. It was easily one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard.
I sat outside the door, listening intently. When he stopped playing piano, his feet hit the tiles that I assumed lined the front of his room, and the door was swung open in a matter of seconds. The tall blonde stared at me (if you're shorter than Jin, he's looking down), with a look in his eyes that displayed both curiosity and interest.
"Well hello there princess, whatever are you doing outside my door?" He smirked, quietly sliding his eyes over every inch of my figure.
"Well, I was going to head down to the kitchen when I heard you playing piano, so I stopped to listen. You have an amazing voice, Jin." I smiled at him.
"I'm aware, but I appreciate the compliment nevertheless." He poked my nose lightly which made me flinch.
"So how can I help you princess?" He quirked a brow at me. I shrugged in response.
"I really was just passing through." I stated. Jin pulled my arm, bringing me into his room and shutting the door behind me. The room behind Jin was absolutely massive and could put an emperor to shame. A large chandelier hung from his ceiling which towered high above the ground, his canopy bed was easily bigger than any I'd ever seen and it looked so comfortable I feel like I'd fall asleep the moment my head hit the pillows.
Across the room was a fridge and a neat looking mini bar lined with all kinds of different drinks. Its marble countertop was polished and flawless, to the point that the ceiling reflected off of it.
The tile ended halfway across the room, turning into a plush pink carpet that gave both a feminine and elegant appeal to the space.
I couldn't help but be astonished by the luxury surrounding me like I'd never seen before.
"You've got to be either the bravest or dumbest girl I've ever met to wander outside of the rooms of hungry demons." He snickered, his eyes flashing purple for a moment.
"Your room is beautiful." I tried to change the subject, which he allowed so he could brag about the area.
"Isn't it? I bought this lovely velvet couch that I'm thinking of putting in the corner. I think the room would be positively tré chic with that added touch to it. Not that it isn't already stunning all by itself." He smirked, pride spilling from every inch of him.
The sheer amount of mirrors in this room was astounding, I could see myself no matter where I looked, but it made perfect sense knowing Jin. On some of his walls were pictures entirely of him and no one else in various poses. I couldn't help but giggle a little bit.
I'm not sure if Seokjin could ever love anyone more than he loved himself, but that didn't seem to bother him at all.
"Anyways y/n, have you thought on my offer?" He inquired. I shook my head, I hadn't been thinking about it at all to be honest. I tried my best to forget it, in fact.
"As lovely a person you are, Seokjin, I can't just sleep with you." I explained.
"I am quite lovely." He agreed with my statement, fussing with his blonde locks. He was quite silly without even trying to be, which made me smile.
"You're quite lovely too, y/n. You have a beautiful smile, I'm glad I can make you smile like that." He complimented me out of the blue, which made my face turn red.
Seokjin grinned at me, his pearly white teeth looking completely spotless.
"I'm sorry for being so stubborn with you guys, it's just that my purity is a big part of who I am." I frowned suddenly.
"It's ok princess." He pat my head affectionately.
"That's what I adore about you. That pure, beautiful soul." His eyes flashed purple yet again as he leaned closer to me. He pulled away when he realized what he was doing, his eyes quickly changing back to brown.
"I'm sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself." He chuckled.
"Did you just apologize?" I giggled. It seemed very out of character for someone so sure of himself like Jin.
He was as surprised as me at his apology. He was speechless for several minutes until he spoke again.
"What I meant to say was, you should leave." He pursed his lips, moving me back toward the door, before opening it and pushing me out of the room. He shut the door behind me, leaving me standing in the hallway in a daze of confusion.
Seokjin was definitely strange, I'd give him that.
"Oh, hey y/n." A higher pitched voice filtered into my ears, pulling me from my momentary daze. I spun around to look at the boy who had spoken. The shortest one, Jimin, had been staring straight at me for a solid few minutes.
"Hey." I waved awkwardly.
"What happened to you?" He asked curiously. I sighed before opening my mouth to explain.
"I guess Seokjin doesn't want to accept the fact that he's capable of taking fault." I shrugged. Jimin blinked, confused.
"He apologized to you for something?" He looked as shocked as Seokjin did.
"You sure are something little flower." He grinned.
"I wish he'd apologize to me when he did something wrong, you're so lucky." He frowned a bit.
Jimin's expression changed to a neutral one again.
"I wish I were as sought after as you are y/n. I wonder what it is about you that makes us so. . . fascinated. Namjoon said you have a pure soul, that you're part of the prophecy." He scrunched up his nose before sneezing lightly which was honestly the cutest thing I'd ever heard.
"Don't say that Jimin. You're perfect the way you are." I assured him, which made him smile at me.
"I see it now." He said simply, walking closer to me, he reached out, grabbing my hand in his.
"You're precious, little flower. Untainted like they say." He examined me quietly.
"I would be the happiest man in the world if you'd give me the honor of taking that purity." He looked at me, eyes flashing green momentarily.
"They always get what they want, but I think I want you more than anything I've ever wanted in this world. I won't let them take you away, little flower." I shivered at his tone, which held a surprisingly deadly edge to it.
He smiled at me again, his eyes mostly closed as he did. There was no denying the insane looks each of them had. All handsome and unique in their own rights.
"I've always wanted what belonged to others, but somehow, I'll make sure I never have to take you from someone else." He promised me, kissing the back of my hand.
"I've been denying my sin for far too long, little flower. I think envy is far more powerful than it gets credit for, and they'll all see that." He moved in to kiss my lips lightly, licking them as he pulled away.
"You taste sweet." He commented casually. Before I could say anything, he spun around and walked away.
Yep.
I'm a goner.
