The hardest class in my whole schedule. ELA. That's where I am right now. Ms. Slater is putting up our warm-up so that we could do it. Once she put it up I started right away.

''Ms. Slater, I can't see the board'', said a girl named Paisley Cypress.

''Just move to the empty seat in the front table." The empty seat. The seat next to mine.

I just continued with my work. Later, after a little time the second period of the class (fourth period) started, we had to work in partners to work on understanding a poem. What we had to do was take the figurative language and tell what it really means. Paisley is my partner. This is a problem because I haven't talked to her yet and to whoever I haven't ever have a full conversation with, it always gets awkward.

Halfway into the poem and it was still awkward. Paisley is an easy person to interact with but I can make it hard for her to interact with me. I'm just too shy.

Yet, Paisley could make her my new friend. We finished the poem early, so we were able to talk. Paisley had the chance to befriend me. I wonder if she would succeed.

''Have you ever had that one moment where you knew that you would love books?'' Paisley asked. Wait, what? How did she know about my passion for books that I've had since Fourth grade? So far only the people that came from my elementary school knew. Nobody here noticed it, at least not yet.

''How did you know that I like reading books a lot?'' I asked.

''I'm very observant. I noticed that you always carry a book with you. Even if it's in your binder you always have a book,'' said Paisley.

''Oh, um wow,'' I said. ''And to answer your question I have started liking to read ever since I first joined the Name That Book Club from our old schools in fourth grade.''

That is how my friendship with Paisley started. She had a way to get people to become her friends right away. She is a very likable person.

She enjoys books like I do, but she likes other stuff too. Her elective is Theater Arts and mine is Orchestra. She likes to draw and I'm terrible at it. Yet, I didn't really care about the differences.

She is someone responsible that knows how to carry herself, but at the same time is a very fun person to be around. Paisley Cypress is a girl that has many distinctive characteristics in her personality.

I like it.
