It happened.

I raised my hand in Ms. Slater's class.

Now, I've raised my hand before. I've raised it every two weeks in Social Studies and once in a while in Math. Yet, I've never, ever raised my hand in ELA. I guess you can say I got frustrated with everyone because they're supposed to be in a Pre-AP class and they can't even listen to what Ms. Slater was saying.

This is what happened. Third period didn't start out like it usually did. I could tell from the moment that I entered the classroom. Everyone looked so tired and I was confused to why they would look tired.

Very few people shared during good things which was very odd. I could tell that Ms. Slater noticed it.

Her lesson plan for the day was to read a story. She read the first part of the story and then asked, "What season is it in the story?"

Now, since the very first sentence, she read clearly said that it was winter because it literally said that it was winter I got frustrated when Sabrina said that it was summer in the book. Gotta say though if looks could kill Sabrina would surely be dead. Ms. Slater seemed to have been trying to burn a hole into her skull. Carlos then raised his hand and said that he also thought that it was summer. Diego and Tyler said that it was spring.

How can people so smart be so stupid?

I really don't know.

Ms. Slater then had us stand up and stretch to wake up. When that didn't work she had us do push ups. This class turned from ELA to Physical Education.

After we did ten push ups, we sat back down in our seats and once again he asked what the season was.

I didn't want to do any more exercises, so I did the logical thing to do.

I raised my hand.

Ms. Slater looked surprised when she saw my hand. I couldn't blame her though. She's never seen me raise my hand before. "Vanessa. What a surprise. What's your answer?"

"Winter," I said.

"Correct," Ms. Slater said. "The very first sentence that I read said that it was winter. Thank you for paying attention."

Hopefully, I never have to raise my hand here again.
