9 - Exchanging Gifts (Trohley Fluff)

Five years ago was when we got married.

We had a beautiful wedding and everything was just perfect. Pete was with Joe and Patrick was with me. It really was amazing.

Now, five years later, we're still happy. We have a house, jobs, kids. But most of that is out of mind right now.

It's just him and I and the stars above us and the grass below us. Absolutely nothing else.

except a few gifts, that is.

Joe's lips are gentle on mine, his hands resting on my jaw as our tongues dance.

Each move sends chills down my spine and my hands gripping the grass harder. The baby blue eyes shut in front of me and one leg propped up.

I pull away for a moment, panting softly against his skin. Each inhale burns my lungs, each exhale releasing the tension.

He looks up at me with a large smile and laughs a little before leaning up with one more kiss.

"So, uh... I got something for you..." I say, biting my lip.

The brunette chuckles a little and replies, "I got something for you, too."

We both blush a little and I finally sigh and open my jacket, grabbing the box from inside my jacket and handing it over while he gives over another box.

I raise my eyebrows at it but look to Joe who signals me to open mine first.

Inside is a ring, gold and decorated with rubies here and there.

"Dude, you've gotta be fuckin kidding me." I whisper, "is this a promise ring?"

Joe nods and smiles and I bite my lip as I slip it on my right ring finger.

"I promise to stay with you, forever and I always." He says, "I love you."

I press forward and tackle him into the grass with a soft laugh, kissing his lips, his cheeks, his forehead, his neck. He only giggles and tries to kiss back.

"Open yours." I reply eagerly. Joe immediately does so and his eyes widen as the silver and sapphire ring enters his sight.

"I promise to stay with you, forever and always," I smile, "I love you."

"Really?"

"Really."
