Chapter 7

As you can imagine, the party was canceled as soon as Ezra walked through the halls, holding Mays' hand, and paid little attention to the decorations, walking back to his quarters with her.

Sabine numbly trailed behind, with her friends following her. Sure, if Ezra truly loved another girl, she would've expected that. She didn't need a man in her life to be happy-even if he was the one she searched for for six years.

It was the fact that he was with his woman. This woman who lied to his face, and the woman Sabine herself wondered if she even loved Ezra, or was just using him.

After half lying to her friends that she would be fine, she walked up to her bedroom, laying down on the blue and yellow knit bedsheets, the orange star bird in a corner as usual, and thought about everything. Maybe if she talked to May. Maybe they could make up, and she'd find she wasn't such a bad person after all. At least then, she'd know Ezra was with someone caring.

She sat up, pulling in her weathered jean jacket, with yet again another star bird on the back, and started down the long hallway. She stopped outside of the room May was currently using, and knocked lightly.

May opened it, with a glare that could kill, not even speaking to acknowledge her presence. Sabine sighed and looked at her. "Look, I don't think we should fight. Maybe we just got out on the wrong foot. Let's just agree to be friends. You're with Ezra and I can respect that." She managed to say, even if the words stung her. May didn't answer, only replied by yanking Sabine inside, and closing the door with her cream colored boots, as she pinned her against the wall, drawing a knife and holding it to her neck.

"Back off, or else next time? This knife will be sticking out of your neck." May growled at her, in an icy tone, before shoving Sabine back out the door, as she opened it, and then promptly shut it.

Sabine fell to the ground, in a shock from the whole thing, and mostly tempted to march back in and give the girl a piece of her mind, but thought it was a better idea to inform the council in the morning, as she went back to her room, slightly shaken.

May leaned against the door, sliding down as she put her head in her hands.

"She won't bother you anymore?" An even colder voice asked from the shadows of the bedroom.

"No..." May swallowed. "She shouldn't-but why must I do this? I don't even like Ezra in that way, and this girl seems nice.." she was cut off abruptly by someone grabbing her by the collar, and yanking her up, the unknown perpetrators' yellow cat eyes shinning.

"You know the deal. Finish. The. Mission." The voice hissed, before dropping the shaking girl to the ground, and leaving her to her tears.
