Peanut Butter and Jelly

"So, Greyson, how are you liking LA?"
My mom asked as the three of us wandered into the kitchen.
My oxygen tank got caught on the wall as we entered and I about tripped, Greyson quickly reached out for me and held me up.
I nodded with a smile to thank him.
Once he let go a tingling feeling lingered on my arms where his rough hands had gripped onto me.
I gently took a seat at the bar and Greyson took the seat beside me.
My mom stood and prepared three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Greysons and I watched in silence.
She placed one in front of me and one in front of Greyson after she had finished.
All three of us dug in.
"Are you excited for school?"
I found myself asking after a few quiet moments had passed.
I looked over to meet his hazel eyes and they were already gleaming back at me.
My cheeks began to heat up and I quickly dropped my eyes to my half eaten sandwich.
My urge to eat had vanished and I pushed my plate swiftly away from me.
My mom took it and discarded the remains in the garbage can inside the pantry.
"I'm excited. Honestly a little nervous, it's my first time ever starting at a brand new school."
Greyson went on, I met my moms gaze and she had the widest grin upon her pale face.
"I'm sure Scarlett would love to show you around Palos Verdes tomorrow! She could even walk with you tomorrow morning!"
She spoke up enthusiastically, I glared in her direction, but she only laughed.
"I'd love that! That would be great!"
Greyson replied, I looked over at him and smiled that real smile that had been nonexistent for years.
My mom was getting excited, maybe a little too excited.
"Well, I should get going. My parents are probably wondering where I went off to, also gotta take my little sister to a friends."
Greyson stood from his seat at the bar and my mom and I followed him to the front door.
"You have a little sister? How old is she?"
My mom asked, Greyson stopped for a moment with his hand on the doorknob.
"She's 14, her names Amelia."
He replied with a smile.
"Do you have any others?"
I asked, for some reason my mouth didn't want to stay shut in his presence.
"Nope, just me and Amelia."
He laughed, I giggled as my eyes stayed on his.
Greyson then pulled the old wooden door open and it whined out in agony on its hinges.
"So, I'll see you tomorrow?"
He asked, his crooked grin appeared across his lips and I couldn't see it, but I knew I had blushed.
"Ya, see you tomorrow."
I responded shyly.
With that Greyson strode down the front steps and front walkway of the house.
Tomorrow was going to be interesting.
Not only my first day back at school in 3 months, spending the day showing Greyson Ford around would be strange.
