(Just to clear some things up, because I've read a good majority of the comments, and some of you seem to think that Emery has died. The reason why there is no longer a time on the chapters is because she is no longer conscious. The only time that there will be a time is when she is either conscious, or there is a flashback. I don't know if I made it obvious within the last chapter, but in the scene where they are with the medical staff, Bella and Charlie are notified that she has a pulse and she is becoming stabilized. I love and care too much about Emery and her story with the Cullen's to end things so abruptly. I plan to continue with the story, and I hope you guys enjoy! sorry for the confusion, and within the next few chapters I hope to have everything planned out and explained thoroughly. so, long author's note finished, and I hope you guys enjoy the ride!)

Alice sits in one of the visitor chairs in the hospital room impatiently, placing a trembling fingetip to her lips and in between her teeth. Gently biting down, she frowns as she feels a slight twinge of pain. Feeling that pain kept on reminding her that what had happened, was real. Although she was unbelievably happy and grateful that her mate was stable, she would not wake up. Carlisle had tested her so many times over the past month with scans and blood samples, that his fellow staff members now walked past her hospital room in wonder and curiosity.

No one knew why she wouldn't wake up. Everything, other than her now healing dislocated shoulder and bruised skin, as well as her concussion, she was perfectly fine. Her anemia's leveled, her bone marrow was still the same from her last appointment she had with Carlisle. It was as if she didn't want to wake up.

Alice's heart broke when she found out that her mate was dying of leukemia. Jasper was no better. Ever since finding out, he's been limiting his feeding and no longer attending his classes at the high school. Esme had fought with him about his absence, but Jasper simply declined and refused to answer, straying away from his family members and Bella, only allowing Alice near him. The sounds he let out when he thought no one was listening was absolutely heartbreaking.

Emmett heard the sounds of unsteady breathing raking down the hallway he stood in every night listening, forcing himself not to go into his room and restrain him as he cursed himself for not being able to cry, for not being able to control his emotions.

With Emery, Jasper and Alice, everything was perfect. Although they didn't know their mate as well as they would like, what she had shown of herself prior, made Alice and himself easily accept her as part of the family and as their mate. While Alice was cheerful and a loving person, Jasper was calming and consoling, as well as humorous and affectionate. Emery was their anchor. Smiled and laughed at the right time, comforting when needed, and fully understood what was told to her. Jasper refused to accept that his mate had cancer, that she didn't tell him. But then became angry at himself when he noticed the signs. The smell of medication coming from nearby whenever she was around, the bruises that took forever to go away, the times she would get quiet and hunch over, the paleness in her skin and the dark spots under her eyes.

They didn't notice the signals until Carlisle pointed them out. Alice, at first, had no reaction. She felt numb, and then humored, thinking that their father was placing a sick joke on them. She refused to believe that her injured mate could be any more injured than she already was. When she laughed out in disbelief, Carlisle simply handed over her files, and the weight and the countless pages that stared back at her, took away the breath that she didn't know she still had in her.

Her eyes burned with tears that she could not let fall physically. Her stomach clenching painfully as she sorted through the pages, dialysis and chemotherapy standing out the most. Seeing her mates name down at the bottom of the list for donors hurt the most. When she went over to Carlisle and asked why she wasn't any more eligible, he simply stated that Charlie explained that by the time he was able to get her to think about her health and the possibility of having a normal life, she was already in stage three.

Alice and Jasper met her when she was terminal, but they wished that they had met her when she was healthy. The only thing keeping them on the edge of their seats was the comfort the Swan's father gave to them. Although Charlie didn't know the extent of their relationship with his daughter, he accepted. He had too many saddened phone calls and missed opportunities to be with his daughter, to ever decline or put himself in the way of his daughter being cared for. Even if he didn't understand.

Bella, after the day of the accident, refused to acknowledge her sister's trauma and accident, and completely fell into her school work. Every time their father would walk past her bedroom door, she'd be neck deep into a book that Charlie had never seen before, her fingers callousing at the way her fingers clenched around her pencils tightly, holding onto them as if it were her lifeline.

What no one knew was that Bella wasn't focusing on her school work. Instead of doing her homework as soon as she got home, she did research. She became obsessed with the idea of saving her sister.

Hours spent on the internet made her insomnia ten times worse. Almost being a mobile zombie at school, Angela and Eric walked her to every single class, worried about her falling over from exhaustion.

But, her health didn't matter to her, her sister's life mattered to her. Bella knew she had faults. She was stubborn, she was selfish, she was off-standish. But she loved her sister. So, to her, the exhaustion was worth it. The loss of sleep was made up with her getting one step closer to what had really happened to her sister.

Bella knew of the supernatural, but acted nonchalant and unknowing in front of the Cullen's.

There was no way of there being no scene of her accident. Of the feeling of being watched, the unknown men. Her sister was in danger, and Bella was going to help her as much as she could.

The first days of her researching brought her to dead ends. Google didn't have much explanations for unknown accidents and it frustrated her to no end how no one else noticed the unnatural elements that came with the incident. As if they were charmed.

The student body and the teachers, as well as the police, were told by the Cullen's that she had fallen down a flight of stairs and was brought out to the parking lot for medical help. Carlisle backed up the story and said that the reason her body was rested the way it was when the ambulance showed up, was because she was carried and then placed onto the concrete.

But what no one knew, was that there was an unknown force that caused the accident, that somehow hurt her, and saved her at the same time, too.

With every day passing, Bella knew that she was getting closer and closer to solving what had happened to her sister. But with the unknown animal killings getting closer and closer to their home, and the killing of their father's friend just days ago, Bella knew that it was all correlated.

And she hopes she can figure it out before she gets hurt too.

Alice was surprised when she was finally able to convince Jasper to leave his bedroom and come with her to the hospital.

Jasper gripped onto the door, splinters granulating into his pale palms as he took in the devastating sight of his mate.

The reason why he refused to visit her, was to try and remember her the way that she looked before the accident. Her shy smile and the way she looked at him as if he was understood. And with her, he was.

But seeing her in such a weakened state made his throat itch with a scream of frustration he forced himself to swallow down.

The soft and caressing hand of his mate on his nape balanced him back on his feet, and gently guided him towards an uncomfortable plastic chair, his hands tightening around the metal arms as soon as he sat.

"The doctor's said her arm started to move when they changed her i.v, but they don't know if it was a nerve or her body slowly coming back to consciousness." Alice announced in a gentle tone. Jasper wanted to reply and say that she shouldn't have hope, that their mate was already dying, and she probably will be dead soon. But he kept it to himself, because the thought of Alice being hurt too, placed a pain in his heart he forgot he still had inside of him.

Alice noticed the tenseness in his body after she spoke out, and placed her head on his shoulder.

Jasper's eyes roamed around and looked at every inch of the room for a distraction, as Alice spoke about the roses and orchids she brought to the side of her bed the other day, because they reminded her of the first day she saw Emery in the hallway.

Alice's voice kept him in his seat as his ears alerted him that someone was coming near, which made him want to jump out of his seat and protect his mates as best as he could.

Venom pooled in his mouth as his teeth began to elongate, and Alice felt panic as she realized that her mate was going to shift.

Quickly getting out of her seat, she hurries in human speed over to the door to close it, but pauses when Bella and the rest of her siblings come into view.

Shock radiated through her as she took in Bella's appearance, but hid it behind a smile she had by now well practiced, and reopened the door fully before going to sit back down by her mate.

Rosalie looked uncomfortable as she walked into the room, and if possible, paled as she took in the sight of the Swan. Clearing her throat, she wrapped an arm around Emmett's wrist and gently tugged him forward to follow her out of the room, making up the excuse to get more chairs.

Bella smiled back plainly and sighed as Edward placed a comforting arm around her shoulders, guiding her toward the chair that was closest to the bed. Before she even sat, her hand was connected to Embry's, and smiled to herself as the heart monitor slightly sped up because of the contact.

Edward paused mid step and frowned, before quickly striding over to Emery's hospital bed, placing his ear near her forehead.

Jasper let out a growl that Edward ignored as he listened carefully, letting out a surprised gasp as static began to fill his mind.

"Let it be, Jas. Please." Bella said in a shaky tone, her eyes staring intently at Edward as he focuses.

Edward felt pain encase his head and hissed out as the sound turns from static to an unknown mumble. Feeling confused and shaky, Edward continued to push mentally, gripping onto the arm of the bed as energy seeped out of him in crashing waves.

"What's going on?" Alice demanded, worry in her tone as the machine attached to her mate's chest begins to ring out loud in an alarming rate.

Edward looked up, his usual golden brown eyes melting into an inhumane forest green.

And, is if he were in a trance, Edward slurringly stumbled out,

"She's communicating with me."
