Part 2
'Ready?' he asked her who is sitting anxiously beside him in the passenger seat of his car.
Khushi 'I..I'm scared'
Arnav 'don't be, I'm here for you'
He came out and walked over to her door, opening it, he held his hand for her to hold. She held his hand nervously and walked with him.
Khushi looked around the area, a little amazed but more scared. Khushi 'you live in this big house'
Arnav smiled little 'Yes, Kyun? Should I not?'
Khushi shaked her head in no......Arnav pressed the calling bell, Khushi held his hand tight 'What will your family say?'
Arnav 'Don't worry about them. Just be easy. Everything will be fine'
The door was opened by servant; Arnav nodding at him came inside with her 'HP is the guest room ready?'
HP 'ji bhaiya' HP looked at the new member with his curious eyes making Khushi more scared. Khushi moved closer to Arnav. Arnav 'Don't be scared he is harmless'
Arnav 'Where is Nani?'
HP 'she is in Vivaan baba's room'
Arnav grunted at that. He turned to Khushi 'Come let me take you to your room'
Khushi walked with him, he led her up the staircase and towards the left side of the corridor. Stopping at the door 'Come!!!' walking inside the spacious room, Arnav 'from now this is your room, and the room beside yours is mine'
Khushi could only nod at him. Arnav 'you take rest. I'll call you by lunch time. And yes feel yourself free, this is your home'
He smiled at her and walked towards the door. Her voice however stopped him 'Why are you helping me?'
He looked back at her, his eyes stopping at her eyes 'not you....I'm helping myself'
Khushi 'huh?' confused by his answer she looked at him for explanation but he only gave her a smile in return.
Khushi woke up by child's crying voice. After Arnav had left her in the room she had slept feeling tired to give rest to her mind and body and now a child's voice coming from nearby her room woke her up from her slumber.
She came out of the room unsure of her surrounding following the child's voice. Stopping at the door left open ajar she peeped inside to see an old lady trying to console the crying child.
Feeling the pull towards the child she walked towards him surprising the old lady she took him in his arms cooing at him to make His cry stop.
Khushi 'shhhh baby don't cry darling....ache bacche nahiin rote....shhh shona....Why is the little Angel crying?' the child looked at her, now curious to see himself in the arms of new person.
The old lady stood up seeing the unknown girl 'Who are you?'
Khushi stopped speaking to the baby and looked at the elder lady stuttering 'Voh....voh.....'
'Khushi!!!, she is Khushi. I told you about her Nani'....both of them turned towards the voice. Arnav is standing near the door looking at them.
Nani's surprised face changed to understanding and turned hard; she took the baby from her who started crying once again 'Stay away from my child'
Khushi bewildered looked at her.....her heart weeping at the baby crying profusely. Khushi 'but.....'
Nani 'I said stay away from him....I don't want your shadow to fall on him' Khushi looked at her wide eye; Nani's eye showed her the disgust. Stepping back from Nani and the child Khushi rushed out with tears in her eyes towards her room not even stopping at Arnav's call.
Arnav looked at his Nani in anger 'Nani!!! How can you talk to her like that?'
Nani looked away from him, Arnav 'it was not her fault for whatever happened. Stop being biased, if something bad happened to a girl it does not mean it is in her fault that happened. Come out of your delusional belief'
Arnav after knocking the door came inside her room. Khushi wiped her tears seeing him. He came and sat beside her. Khushi's voice cracked while she said to him 'I should not stay here.'
He held her hand in his, it took him nearly a month to make her comfortable around him, she now trust him with her and he is happy to see her trust in him otherwise she would not have come with him to his house. It had been his decision to bring her his home and he is not going to change that for anything, not even his Nani's petulant behavior.
Arnav 'Why? Just because even being a woman my nani could not understand other woman's pain. Khushi!!! Stop running away; you are not at fault for whatever happened with you. My nani is from orthodox family who finds easy to put blame on woman than men. She had always been on the wrong side. Forget her, forget others. Just face this world with your head held high'
Khushi looked at his honest and determined eyes, Arnav 'and I'm with you in this. Fight the world Khushi. Don't just sit and cry on your fate'
Khushi 'Thank you!!'
Arnav 'Why?'
Khushi 'for being there for me when my own family shunned me away from them'
Arnav smiled at her 'it is pity that they could not understand your pain'
Khushi 'and you do?'
Arnav smile dimmed little but it was back on place 'maybe I do....because if not the same I too share similar fate like yours'
Khushi 'like me?'
Arnav 'some other time when you are strong enough to hear my story and strong enough for us to share each other's story' Khushi looked down at that, she had talked with her psychiatrist but not with him. She still has to open up to him. After all he is doing so much for her and he ought to know her past, even the hidden truth she hid from her doctor.
Arnav 'enough now, I've come to call you for lunch but then saw your room empty and searching I landed outside Nani's room. Come let's go down, lunch is ready'
Khushi 'okay!!!'
They both came down to see Nani already seated on one of the chair having the baby in her lap.
HP came outside from kitchen holding a feeding bottle 'Nani ji here Vivaan baba's milk'
Nani took the milk bottle from him and brought it towards Vivaan's mouth who started drinking it. Arnav made Khushi sit beside him, HP served them lunch. Arnav 'have your lunch Khushi'
But Khushi was lost in Vivaan. Vivaan pushed the bottle away since his tummy is full now. He smiled slowly at Nani and then turned his head around, his eyes passing on everything and anything, lastly landing on Khushi with his smile intact on his lip.
Khushi watched in awe at the baby. He is cute. Arnav shaked her softly 'Khushi?'
Khushi looked at him 'Ji?'
Arnav 'why are you not eating your food?'
Khushi 'Voh....*she looked back at Vivaan* he is...'
Nani looked at her sternly 'Vivaan, my grandson and Arnav's son'
Shocked Khushi looked at Arnav and at Vivaan 'Arnav ji's son?'
Nani 'Yes!!!'
Arnav as if did not hear a thing started having lunch. Khushi looked around, where is the boy's mother? Arnav ji's wife?
Khushi 'his mom?'
Arnav's cold voice stunned her 'Dead!!!' she looked back at him who looked at her without any expression. Nani threw reproachful look at him and left the dining table with Vivaan after ordering HP to bring her lunch to her room.
Arnav dropped Khushi till her door, seeing her lost 'Khushi!!!'
Khushi 'ji!!!'
Arnav 'where are you lost?'
Khushi 'nothing'
Arnav 'no it is not nothing, you were lost during lunch time and now too. What happened?'
Khushi 'Voh...Vivaan...he is cute child' Arnav looked away, Khushi 'how many month he is?'
Arnav 'maybe six to seven month...I don't know'
Khushi 'What? he is your son' looking at Arnav's lost expression.
Khushi 'don't tell me you don't even look at him. Have you ever held him in your arm?'
Arnav looked away, Khushi looked at him shocked. Arnav turned to her 'you should rest. I've some work in office. Will be back soon?'
He turned to leave; her low voice stopped him 'Why?'
He looked back at her, Khushi 'Why are you away from your son? Why are you being aloof to him? I noticed you during lunch time. You did not even look at him. You don't seem to be attached to him. Why so much coldness towards your own son? What wrong did he do?'
She came near to him 'The nurse, the doctor in hospital talked a lot about you. They were surprised to see you concerned for me. They were shocked how a heartless man having so much concern for me, caring me. I could not believe their words but.....but after seeing your behavior with your nani and son.....Is it true? Is it true you don't care about them? Are the words of nurse and doctor's true? Then why are you caring for me? When I'm no one to you'
Arnav 'because I hate them.....I hate them all....I hate my nani....I hate him.....but I don't hate you....did you hear me I don't hate you'
Khushi stepped back at his loud voice, his eyes held anger not at her but towards himself and them.
She raised her hand towards him 'Arnav ji.....' but he left the room.
She sat back shocked at his words.....he hates his own child. Why?.....
She felt sad for the baby; no baby deserves the hate of his father. How can he hate an Angel?
