"Uncle Thorin! Please!" Kili begged his uncle. The Dwarf Prince looked in his youngest nephew's innocent eyes and finally gave in. "Fine, but just for a few hours! Don't forget to tell your mother! Now go and get your costumes!" The two brothers rushed to their bedroom and came back hand in hand with Dis. Kili was wearing red trousers with a red metal squamous tunic and a same sort of hood. He painted his face red and there his eyelids were painted like Dragon eyes. Fili was dressed in brown: He wore brown trousers with a beige shirt and a brown tunic over it. His hood and sleeves were covered with feathers. Their mother smiled at Thorin and said: "How sweet of you to take them to the Halloween festival! Have fun!" She kissed her brother on his cheek while the two little boys were running in circles in the dinnerroom and after that she let the three Dwarfs out. "Bye, sweethearts!" She waved to them until they were out of her sight and then closed the door.

"I am Smaaaauuuugggg!" Kili yelled as he ran through the streets of the small town they lived in. Fili followed his younger sibling and yelled: "I am an Eagle and I'm going to destroy you, Smaug the Terrible!" Thorin smiled at the sight of his two nephews enjoying their childhood. Soon he'd finally learn them how to use their own chosen weapons, but now it was time to make fun. They walked towards the market and a few minutes they found themselves in the centre of the square filled with different kinds of stalls.

"Uncle! Look! A bead stall! Can we take a look there?" Fili asked his uncle. Thorin nodded, for he was quite interested himself. They managed to press themselves through the crowd and when they reached the stall they admired the silver and golden beads. "Where are these for, uncle Thorin?" Kili asked as he pointed at a silver bead just in front of him. "I like these!"
"You can put it in your hair, Kili." Thorin answered.
"Can I have it, uncle? Please?"
The Dwarf Prince smiled and nodded. "Of course! Fili, which ones would you like to have?"
Fili overlooked all of the beads again and then chose a pair of golden ones. "Those ones, uncle Thorin!"

Thorin smiled at the two young sons of his sister and paid the beads. Before they went on candy hunt they first grabbed a drink at Tibboh's, a little tavern in the town. Fili and Kili only got gingerbeer and Thorin chose a good pint. When they were all done drinking they went outside again to continue their Halloweenevening. They walked their route through the whole town and knocking on each door, every time telling the people the same thing...
"Trick or Treat!" Kili exclaimed. The young woman in the door opening chuckled and replied: "Oh no! Smaug, is that you?!"
"Yes, I am Smaug the Terrible!" Kili told her proud.
"And I am a Great Eagle!" Fili continued.
"Well, in that case you deserve something nice!" She said as she gave them both a huge chocolate bar. The young Dwarf Princes looked at them as if they didn't believe it.
"Thank you so much, ma'am!" They both said to the woman before they left.

The three Dwarves walked to the next house as they suddenly bumped onto Bofur. "Bofur!" Kili and Fili exclaimed as they hugged their friend. "Well hello! What a surprise!" He greeted. Thorin sighed and smiled as he witnessed his nephews being so happy. "We are going to ask for some candy at that adress, okay uncle?" He nodded and began a conversation with Bofur.
When the two little brothers reached the house they heard some stumbling inside and Kili became afraid. "Fili, can't we just go to the next house?"
"No Kili, we promissed Thorin to continue here! We have to keep that promise!" And just as he moved his hand towards the door to knock on it, it opened and an Orc took them at their collars, pulled them inside the house and took them with several Wargs into Mirkwood.

Thorin ended his conversation with Bofur and looked up. His nephews should be back by now. He walked towards the address they gave him with a worried look on his face. When he saw two dropped baskets and a mess of trails of different creatures he ran towards the 'crime scene' and inspected it. Bofur still was with him. "Bofur, please make the ponies ready!"
"Where are we going, Thorin?"
"To Mirkwood!"

The two of them were ready in a few minutes and gallopped for over ten minutes until they arrived in the dark woods. They had to follow the trail walking. The two Dwarves quickened their pace as they were getting closer to the two young boys. Suddenly they heard Orcs screaming and ran to the direction the sound had come from until they reached an open spot. "No, don't shoot them! They are friends!" Kili's voice. "That is uncle Thorin and that is Bofur, a friend!" Fili's voice. The only thing Thorin saw were three dead Orc bodies with in each two or three arrows in the chest. It were Elvish arrows. Three people appeared out of a bush. Kili, Fili and... An Elf.

"Uncle!" Both Thorin's nephews exclaimed in excitement. "This is Legolas Greenleaf, Prince of Mirkwood!" Fili said.
"He saved is from these Orcs!" Kili told them.
"And when we "Trick or Treat"-ed him, he gave us this!" Fili said as he showed a package with bread leaves.

"It is Lembas-bread." Legolas stated. "For these two strong Princes!" Thorin looked thankfully at the Elf and also thanked him with words. Legolas nodded in reply and left again. All of them went back to their own safe home and when the two little Dwarf brothers told their mother what happened she wouldn't believe it, but Thorin convinced her and she told her sons how proud she was that she had them and how much she loved them. And Legolas' Lembas-bread, well, that was very useful a few weeks later, when Thorin began learning them how to use their weapons.
