5: Steve the bully

"So, are we all clear on the mission? We all know what to do?" Mr Stark asked, clasping his hands together. Peter was practically bouncing in his seat with excitement. Mr Stark had finally asked him on a mission, and an important one as well! Alaska had been invaded with some weird-ass group of... strange (was probably the aptest name) creatures yesterday and had called for the Avengers.

To be fair... looking at some of the footage, Peter couldn't understand why they hadn't just abandoned the whole damn state. "Spidey? You good on the plans?" Oh, shit. "Yessir-ie. Clear as crystals." He saluted. Widow snorted before turning her glare onto Hawkeye for some reason. "Stark, does he have to stay up there? Can he not sit at the meeting table like a normal Avenger?" Steve asked. Peter could hear the tone of disgust, and (not gonna lie) it hurt a bit. Before he had a chance to respond, Mr Stark came in for the rescue. "Uh, yeah no. If Spidey wants to chill on the ceiling, leave him be Cap'n." Peter thought about coming down anyway, but now Mr Stark had defended him, he couldn't really... it'd undermine him.

"Just one final question Stark." Cap continued, eyeing Peter up from the table. oh, like you're so high and mighty Mr I'll-ram-my-shield-into-your-face-and-kill-you-because-my-friend-killed-your-parents-and-you-got-angry... Peter was still fuming when he found out Cap had done that, and all the respect he once held to the hero had very quickly disappeared into nothing but anger and hatred. "What, Cap? I need to prepare for the battle." Mr Stark snapped. A few of the others at the table seemed to pick up a little on the tension. "How can we trust him? He's never social with us, and the police are after him," Peter almost wanted to drop down right there and then, and really give Cap a piece of his mind. "For fucks sake Rogers, really? Did you miss the battle in space with purple ballsack? Or how he saved your ass when raisin bran was gonna slice through your neck?" Steve didn't say anything.

Neither did Peter.

"If you still don't trust him, then that's an issue on your part, nobody else's." Mr Stark finished. Nobody else spoke up, so Mr Stark turned the video footage off. "Cool, gather your shit, we leave in 3 hours, or whenever the jet is ready, whatever comes first."

Peter was packing a spare mask and his homemade suit (just as a precaution, you can never be 100% sure) when a strong arm pushed his door shut. Had Peter not had his Spidey-sense, the doo would have clipped his nose. "Ay, what the hell man?" He snapped, before clamping his jaw shut.

Captain America was leaning there, scowl on his face, in the full getup. "Jet's gonna be fuled and ready in less than 10 minutes, Spider-man. Are you ready to deal with some actual bad guys?" He cooly asked. Peter didn't mention half the guys he'd beaten. Sure, they weren't Hitler, but then again, how many people can say they punched Hitler in the face. "Yes sir. I can assure you, I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself and fighting." Cap looked him up and down with a sour look. He hummed. "I don't trust you, at all. This seems very above what you do...." His eyes scanned up and down Peter's body, and suddenly, he felt like he was in Skip's bedroom again.

Peter stepped away, but Cap stepped closer. "Stay back Cap..." He warned, putting a hand out. "Oh, so you're threatening me? Really?" Captain asked, stepping closer again. "I don't like people in my personal space... step back, or I'll make you step back." Peter warned. Since being bitten, he'd been kept awake many nights, thinking how he could have defended himself against Skip, about what he'd do to the man now if he ran into him.

"You couldn't if you tried," Cap sneered. "I'm warning you now, STAY BACK!" Peter yelled. Captain stepped forward again. Peter was now against the wall. Steve kept walking towards him. "I'll web you to the ground if you don't stop!" Peter warned, making sure his fingers were ready. "Oh, so you're still threatening?" He took another step.

So Peter webbed him to the ground. "What the hell?!" Steve yelled, pulling furiously at the webbing. "It'll dissolve shortly. I warned you Cap," Peter ran out of the room, thankful his mask hid his fearful face and tear stained cheeks.

"Hey, whoa kid! What's the rush? You need something?" He'd bumped into Mr Stark. Peter pushed away, "No, I don't need help," Then ran down the hall.

Tony knew something was wrong, and it was only confirmed when he followed where Peter had ran from.

It was the locker room bit, where everyone kept their back up stuff. In there, Steve was webbed to the ground. "Stark, thank god you're here. He webbed me, can you get me out?" Tony frowned, "Why'd he web you? He don't just web people Capsicle. What'd you do?" Steve didn't say anything, and continued to pull at the webbing. Tony knew it wouldn't break, Peter was too clever for that. "FRI? Be a doll and pull up the security footage from around 15 minutes ago in here,"

And so he watched Captain America intimidate and bully Peter to the point where he webbed him up. Tony thought about giving Cap a peice of his mind... but stopped when he remembered how frantic Peter was to get away. Instead, he scoffed. "You wonder why neither myself, or my team trust you? It's because you go around intimidating people to get your own way,"

And Tony set off to find Peter.
