First Night

Sky spun round in the swivel chair. "Who'd of thought you'd have fun in a dump like this?" SSundee looked uneasy. "Quit playing around Sky. You heard the recording. We could be in danger!" Sky rolled his eyes. "Yeah, cus a bunch of automatons are really gonna come to life at midnight and kill us. Get real Ian." SSundee scowled and turned away, checking the monitors like they were supposed to be doing. "Yeah well, I'm not taking any chances." Sky slumped in the chair, playing with his amulet. "How long are we running this joint for?" SSundee pushed his sunglasses further up his nose. "12am to 6am. 6 hours." Sky sighed heavily. "That's a long time." Ian groaned. "Shut up! You've been complaining since we got here! You're lucky I even risked coming here to keep you company!"

Sky frowned. "Ok, fine. I'm a bit freaked out and venting always helps me calm down." SSundee sighed. "Then do it quietly please. I'm trying to find these automatons on the cameras and you're not helping me concentrate in the slightest." Sky stood up and looked at the monitor with Ian. He pointed to Camera 5. "Try that one." Ian clicked on it. Nothing. Just an empty room with a poster in the corner. "Why are we even checking these?! It's not like anything even there!" Ian said. Sky groaned. "Why did I even take this job Ian?" SSundee rolled his eyes. "Because you needed a part-time job. Plus, at least you're not alone. This place is pretty creepy dude." Sky shuddered. "No kidding." Suddenly, a scream echoed throughout the deserted resturant. It sounded close. SSundee froze and slowly turned his head to look at Sky. "What the crap was that?"

Sky spun round and shrieked, running to the door and slamming the heel of his hand into the 'close' button. The screaming automaton outside was barred from entry. SSundee whipped round, eyes wide in panic. "What the heck?!" Sky was breathing heavily as he stared, petrified, into the glowing white eyes of the snarling bear automaton outside the office. Only a thin pane of glass separated the two friends from the monsters outside. Sky back away, checking the other door. "That's why you check the monitors!" SSundee was shaking. "N-no, this can't be happening." Sky gritted his teeth. "Well, it is. And I have no intention of dying because of these stupid freaks! Ian, you check the monitors. I'll get the lights and the doors."

SSundee nodded and did his best to concentrate on the monitors. Sky frowned. "Don't forget to keep track of how much power we have left!" Ian read the power bar and groaned. "We're already on 75%. 73 now." Sky whirled round, punching the door release button. The automaton was gone. "What's the time?" Quickly, he turned the light on at the other door to reveal a rusted yellow chicken automaton. Sky watched in horror as it cocked its head to one side, the springs and joints in its neck creaking horribly. "Want to play with usssss?" Sky screamed and slammed the door shut. "No I do not want to play with you!" Ian checked his watch. "It's 4am Sky!" "Jeez, that went quick." Sky muttered, before crossing the room to check the cameras with SSundee.

His friend was shaking and his blue eyes were wide in fear and anxiety. Sky took a deep breath and counted to five before spinning round and opening the door. There was nothing outside. "How much juice now?" "45%!" Sky winced. "Time?" "5am!" Sky grinned. We could make this!; he thought. His happiness was short lived however as an automaton grabbed him roughly from behind. "IAN! HELP ME!" SSundee whipped round and ran towards him. In other doorway the bear automaton stood, its red eyes wide and bloodshot. The fox automaton's claws dug into Sky's skin as he pulled him, kicking and screaming, back through the entrance.

SSundee grabbed a monitor off a nearby desk and threw it with all his might at the fox's head. Sparks exploded everywhere and Sky fell to the ground. He was up in seconds and backing away into a corner with Ian as the bear closed it. He saw its jaws open. He saw its glassy eyes widen as it held out its hands in front of it. Ian glanced at his watch. 5:59am. He'd never been so terrified in his life. As the clock hit 6am the lights went out and the last thing Sky and Ian saw before they ran was the automatons' gleaming eyes in the darkness.

Night 1 was only the beginning...
