Omission

"I'm divorced,"

I say as I apply on some blush.

"I'm divorced,"

I repeat staring myself in the mirror, Yejoon reaching for my makeup brush with a smile.

"I'm divorced."

It's starting to feel less weird saying it which is good.

"I'm-"

My bedroom door swings open, Jungkook entering the room to my surprise.

"-divorced."

He raises an eyebrow and he opens his mouth to say something, but I point my finger at him.

"Don't!" I get up, picking up Yejoon to rest at my hip.

"Don't think you're here for my son. I know you're taking him to Taehyung!"

I'm fuming, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Jennie, I'm-"

"Who even let you in the house? MOM!" Ignoring him, I crane my neck into the hallway.

Jungkook clicks his tongue, yanking me back into the room to stop my commotion.

"Jennie! Please, I'm sorry!! I came to apologize! Please!"

I walk over to my bed and sit down, eyes still pointed at him.

"How could you do this to me? I trusted you so much..."

Jungkook stares down at the ground, lifting a shoulder, "You never said I couldn't bring him to Taehyung."

"Lying by omission is worse than just lying."

"He deserves to see him."

"He could've made an effort."

"I'm talking about Yejoon."

I stay silent, gently playing with Yejoon's hair as Yejoon stretches his arm for Jungkook.

Jungkook looks at me for permission.

I sigh in defeat, him quickly snatching Yejoon up to play with him.

"I wanted Yejoon to see him, I really did but Taehyung's parents--well, more like his mom--she wanted me as far away as possible from him.

I know she wanted to see Yejoon too, but I just couldn't...couldn't bring myself to take him there. Not when she treats me like a speck of dust.

Like, I gave birth to him. I'm still special too. Why should Yejoon be allowed in his life and not me?"

I start to cry all over again and this time I can't hold back any tears.

Jungkook pulls me in for a hug with his free arm, gently stroking my hair.

"Being with Taehyung was always a battle. It's like nobody wants me with him. I used to handle it well, but now that he's forgotten me...it's harder. At least I had him by my side before."

I use Jungkook's shirt to wipe away my tears, forgetting that I was practicing my makeup earlier.

When I pull away, I come face-to-face with the black stain that is my mascara.

"Oh-"

"It's fine," he chuckles, "and you know, I was always on your guys' team."

He sits beside me.

Taking a deep breath, I calm myself down.

"I don't know if he told you, but I'm finalizing the divorce."

"Yeah I kinda got that when you were repeating 'I'm divorced' earlier."

I let out a tiny laugh.

He gulps and raises an eyebrow, "Are you sure about that?"

"More than ever before. It's the last step to moving on. I already got rid of the..."

I do a double-take over to my bookshelf where my journals missing.

Jungkook looks over there, confused. "Got rid of what? Your ugly plant that you let die over there?"

"No! Well, yes, but no! My journal...the one that I wrote in for like 2 years! I put it in the bookcase over there and now its gone!"

It's really missing.

I sigh in frustration.

It must have been Yejoon's doing.

"Hooray!" Jungkook cheers, still confused.

I bite my lip and stare at him teary-eyed.

"Again?! I thought that's what you wanted?"

I grab him and cry into him again.

"I guess," I wail.

Wrong.

I wanted it out of sight and out of mind, not entirely out of my life.

Feeling a tiny pat on my head, I lift it to see Yejoon looking concerned.

"Sorry, Yejoonie. It's probably around here somewhere, right?"

Jungkook tilts his head at me with soft eyes. "You'll find it."

My phone vibrates against my desk and I reach over to swipe it.

"Who is it?" Jungkook teases, leaning over to look.

"Stop, nosy."

"Sungjae? Why he's texting you on a Saturday?"

"Because I'm going on a date with him tomorrow."

Jungkook quickly frowns. "So quick?"

I shrug, "Well, I mean I like Sungjae..."

Jungkook stays frowning.

"And I want to go out on a date."

I miss having fun and I really am looking forward to a date with Sungjae.

"Jennie," he warns.

"Jungkook. Please, it's nothing serious and will not be anything serious. It's just a date that I really, really need."

Jungkook looks down at my legs.

"Why'd you look there! That's now what I meant!" I tug on his ears to which he yells.

"Okay, okay! I'm holding your baby, sheesh."

Yejoon giggles and tries to tug on Jungkook's ears as well.

"Besides..."

I raise an eyebrow.

"If you needed anything like that," he leans in, "I'm always here."

With a gasp, I take back Yejoon.

Jungkook bursts out in laughter, falling back on the bed. "Kidding!"

"Good, if Taehyung was still...himself...he would've killed you."

Jungkook sticks his tongue out, "I know."

And there's the wrath of Yeri.

"Why don't you bring the dude over my place tomorrow for a barbecue?"

"I don't know..."

That means that Taehyung could be there too.

"Do it," Jungkook pokes me.

"No, then it's not a date."

"It's a safe date."

"But what about...him?" I stress the last word out, letting him know I'm referring to Taehyung.

"He said that he was going to some appointment."

I bite my tongue to stop myself from asking further questions.

It's none of your business, Jennie.

"Fine..."

Jungkook throws his arms up in a silent cheer.

I gulp.

Taehyung may not be there, but Yeri will be there.

I guess it'll be for the best.

I'll get to confront her once and for all,

about her relationship with Irene.
